6/24/22 (update): Word of caution: Pase think twice before hiring Vasco for your pool solar heater or PV solar panel system or battery back up. Avoid the pain we're currently going through contacting Vasco (read below). Update: I got an email from Rick, owner of Vasco Solar, stating he is OK with another company removing and re-installing my Vasco Solar Pool Heater as long as it is re-installed correctly.

And then, he (Vasco) will continue to honor the Vasco 5 year labor warranty. I emailed Rick (Vasco) back asking to do an inspection after the other company do the removal and re-installation to make sure it was done to Vasco's satisfaction. We want to avoid in the future to be told by Vasco they won't honor the 5-year labor warranty because the other company did not do the removal/re-instalation correctly.

I also asked Vasco to do the removal and reinstallation of the Vasco Solar Pool Heater themselves as they originally promised in order to make things easier. I'm waiting for a response. I will post an update with Vasco's response or lack of response, which has been their MO (I have been reaching out to Vasco about this matter since April 1st, 2022 without a promise resolution).

We've been trying to contact you without any prompt responses.

If you recall, our neighbors a few houses down also installed their Vasco Pool Solar Heater at our recommendations. We're regretting our decisions. One more questions for the Yelp community. Does anyone know if Vasco Solar has an account with the Better Bussiness Bureau? We have been trying to have Vasco Solar move our pool Solar panels heater equipment on our roof to a different location, so a PV Solar Panels equipment can be installed on our roof.

All what Vasco need to do is to move their own equipment to a different location on the roof (we were told this was possible when we hired them to install the Vasco Pool Solar Heater).

The first system was installed 5 years ago. The company was not responsive at first to get a quote and battery backup system installed. I was persistent.contacted 4 or 5 times to get a quote for a backup system installed. Finally got a quote and install. Did not work right but was immediately fixed. I am an retired Electrical engineer with a very broad practical background.

New backup system is working properly. High points: Excellent installation Reasonable repair time for problems (my neighbor too) Reasonable price Low point Outstandingly bad customer support much patience required. Repeated callings with seldom reply I let them know i was unsatisfied with customer response Say they will be in business long after others will quit.

Unless they change, i doubt that will be true. Overall advice. Choose another good installer. Once you commit the warranty support is in their hands. So far good.if they respond

The Vasco Solar crew were the most professional, kind, helpful, reliable and flexible people to work with. We were very pleased with the work ethics, quality of the products used and level of knowledge, trust and perfection the crew used on the job.

Bryce and the team did a phenomenal job installing my solar pool heater. Also, he helped fix a cracked pool equipment too.

A leak was repaired in a few short minutes and the technician cared enough to test the roof panels again and repaired another small leak before leaving. Our experience with this company has been great and I have recommended them to friends and neighbors.

Tech was great, offered us a couple of solutions to our problem, took care of it all very quickly. We'll definitely use them to replace our pools heating system.

I had a problem with my system which was four years old. I called Vasco and they sent Will out the very next day. He was extremely knowledgeable and efficient. He fix the problem quickly and did a great job. I can't say enough good stuff about Will.

I was recommended Vasco Solar from friend and had them give me a quote. They answered and responded immediately. They gave a great quote and were able to do the install within a month. Staff was amazing, polite and nice. Install took one day and did great install with painting pipes and concrete cutting as well as concrete pouring. 8 panels were installed on garage.

Even put dogs paw prints in concrete. Solar pool heating worked and even with weather in March of 2022 the pool reached 81 degrees. Pool temperature was around 62 to 65 prior to install. I did not have a pool heater prior to install. I recommend this company and pool solar for anyone who lives in SoCal!

Excellent service! I had them do a small repair to our solar pool heating system two years ago and were pleased with their service. Well the 13-year old system finally failed - clogged with junk my old filter let through. Justin and Bryce back to the rescue! Not only did they diagnose the problem with the solar system, they figured out the cause of my underground leak and fixed it. I think others would have said it wasn't their problem and moved on. Quality, full service!

I am very pleased with Vasco Solar. I called them because of their positive Yelp reviews. Those reviews were well deserved based on my experience with them. They gave me a couple of options, all were reasonably priced, and they did the work in a professional manner.

Vasco Solar was one of the best companies I have worked with, hands down. Firstly, they gave me a very fair price for the installation of the solar panels for my pool. I am a newbie at all of this and was floored by how much work went into installation. Vasco Solar visited my property no less than 5 times at each stage of the installation of my pool at no additional charge!

There was one time for the quote, once for the installation of the piping and panels, and then a long break while we patiently waited for my pool company to finish with the plaster. They came out again at my request to put the return piping underground! At no additional charge. After there was water in the pool, they came back to install the wiring and thermostat!

I was then given a walkthrough of the system (which looked beautiful) by Bryce (who did the whole install). He was extremely professional and knowledgeable and polite and was very respectful with my property- he even had his crew paint the plumbing that was sitting against the wall the same color as my garage! What a great company- I only wish I had more pools to add solar panels to- I will never use another company for this product- thanks Vasco Solar!

I would highly recommend Vasco Solar. Rick, Bryce and the team did a great job with the installation. It was a quick and easy process thanks to them. They were careful to keep us in the loop on everything they were doing and were very clean while on the roof and inside our home. I have confidently recommended them to friends after seeing what a great job they have done.

We got our pool solar heaters installed by Vasco Solar in June 2020. We had leaking issues mid-2021 and Lauren was very nice and responsive and sent someone right away to get it fixed. I'm giving them 2 stars because: 1. When they installed the pool solars, it looks like ALL the nails they used are popping out of our patio roof. 2. We are currently in the process of re-roofing so we need the pool solar removed and reinstalled. However, it took several follow ups before they responded with a quote and then their quote came up significantly higher.

We asked for reconsideration since they installed the solar panels in the first place. Also, we were hoping they can correct the quality issue (nails). The quote they gave us is close to half of the total cost of installing the solar panels last year. They are not responding to our email and Yelp message and they're not picking up our calls either.

Part of the reason we're replacing the patio roof is because of the nails that punched through our patio roof when Vasco solar installed the heaters. There are about a dozen of nails coming out -- see photos. These are all different photos and I have more but you get the story. We picked vasco for our solar panels because they are local and we prefer and support local businesses but have not had good customer experience with them, and not happy with the quality.

Very pleased with the service, the system, installation and the follow-up. The pricing was reasonable. Everything from obtaining the estimate to the PTO (Permission to Operate) went as scheduled. Very professional. They assure me that they will maintain my system in the future. I have no doubt that they will follow up on this promise. I heartily recommend Vasco Solar to anyone looking to add solar to their home. Richard, the owner, has years of experience and his knowledge is apparent from first meeting. No sales pressure or complicated cost analysis*, just straight, to the point information. From the moment I said, "do it" to the receipt of my PERMISSION to OPERATE from SCE, everything went like clockwork.

All of his workers are excellent and well trained including the office staff. Great company. I also added a solar pool heating system at the same time and that is producing nice temperatures and should extend its usability. *I didn't want one.

We had issues with the installer of our solar panels, from another company. Being frustrated, cost us way extra money, we reached out to an Operations Manager Brantley, who immediately helped us with the situation. He even apologized for the other company, and was eager to assist us. We are now able to monitor our panels that we've had for 2 years! Wish we knew about this company before hand!

Once again Vasco Solar came through with excellent service. Could not be happier that we chose to work with a Rick for our solar panels. Thanks for proudly representing HB.

We were looking for a company to do solar pool heating and solar electric. Vasco seemed like a good fit (at least based on their website). But it was as if we, as a potential customer, we're begging for their business. We sent them all the info they had asked for, called them multiple times, sent emails, no one returns the calls or gives timely response.

I had literally chase the hell out of them to get a quote. It's been days I asked them a question on the quote- no one has responded! I even asked them to let me know honestly if they don't want the business (for whatever reason) so that we can stop wasting each other's time and move on to someone else to get a project going. Vasco defines and displays the opposite of customer service and is the most indifferent and unprofessional sales I have seen in a while!

Got someone to come out and gave a quote immediately. However, the earliest appointment is about a month out. I didn't get a reminder call or a start time of installation, so I called them on the morning of installation to get a time but they said they will call me back to confirm. I didn't hear back for hours, so I reached out again and again and again until someone finally picked up and said installation will be in the evening.

No one came and no one called. Day 2, I called in the morning but no one picks up (they got caller id or something bc they won't pick up my calls). I left a message and I still haven't heard anything all day. I have no idea on what is going on but I would like my deposit back. Day 4, showed up unannounced at 8 am. Installer/contractor were professional and did a great job. Customer service on the company end could improve greatly. Installation took about 8 hours. Nicely done. Customer service 1 star. Work done 5 stars.

Cannot say enough good things about our experience with Vasco. The team led by Justin was sooooo professional. They started early, were quiet and so very clean. Had to dig up a portion of our lawn for the piping and you would have sworn they never dug anything up at all- replaced as though it had never been disturbed. Everything was left probably cleaner than when they arrived.

I must also acknowledge their team leader Justin He was so very knowledgeable and patient. We even video taped his instructions which has come in handy several times. I would give them 100 stars on a 10 point scale if I could. I am not one to write reviews but I actually asked Justin for his last name (sorry Justin lost the paper) so that I could write a review.

That's how impressed with their service we were. Don't hesitate. By the way the product is working fantastically. We had to turn down the temp as it was too warm at 91 and that of course was without the heater, using the solar only. Thanks Vasco!

This review is based on price, installation, the product and the Vasco owner and employees. I can't review warranty or support because I haven't needed anything (which is a good sign). The price for my pool solar was by far the best price out there. Installation was super fast, the project manager and the other guys were super nice and wore masks (even though they didn't have to outside). Rick the owner seems to be a honest, good guy and Lauren at the office is pleasant to deal with and very on top of responding.

I can't remember the installers names (the people that really matter of course), but they actually seemed happy with their jobs which is a good sign for quality work. The pool solar is pretty insane, it not only heats my pool, but also seems to cool my house down by blocking the sun. Running the pump from 10:30am to 4:00pm my pool is heated about 14 Degrees warmer than outside even though it has been 70 or so outside with some clouds in HB.

I live in a house that is in the sun all day though. The only thing I do need to ask is if I can run the heat and solar at the same time. Thanks guys! I will be purchasing solar through the company in about 1 month.

Vasco Solar is the best! We had a system installed one month ago. Even in March we are getting 6-7 degrees per day. The pool is 76-78 in early April. Brice was easy to work with, the installation was completed on schedule, and so far has worked perfectly. Could not be happier!

I called and left a message. No call back. The next day I called again and they had an opening on Tuesday. They said the tech would call in the morning to set a time. No call. I called them three times with no answer. Don't waste your time with this company!

Installed the solar panels August 2014, it was the best energy saving for our home The price of the installation was fair & great All installers were knowledgeable & skilful, project completed as schedule Discovery First problem on energy production on March 4th 2021, requested service. Service scheduled next day. Technician arrived on time, problem solved. The issue was not caused by solar system, the main solar breaker was tripped due to lose circuit breaker. I recommend Vasco solar co. As the best service company

It is a tad harder to find POOL solar heating than it is to find regular electric solar installers; they are different systems but solar "electric" tends to be the kind of ads one gets when using any search with the word "solar." Anyhow, one system generates electricity from the sun (solar electric) the other uses black piping to capture heat energy and heat water that is pumped through pipes up to your roof and back into your pool (solar pool heating). Vasco does both types. Vasco just finished installing 9 pool solar heating panels for us.

I plan to come back and re-review after a few years in terms of operation and quality. As far as response and install goes, the team worked hard sunup to sundown yesterday and finished before lunch today. They were really nice guys as well. High five goes out to the whole team and especially "Will" for friendliness. We went with Vasco because of a friend on Fullerton Buzz gave them a good review and said their own system was working many years after install.

Minor point, the gentleman who gave us an initial price may have been the owner. He was less "sales-y" than the other company. Personally I prefer less sales bravado. He actually handed me a cut out sample of the product so I could actually see what was going on the roof. Helpful. Price: I got two bids. I believe Vasco clearly offered more value for the money. Vasco was also more flexible with me in terms of installation and other issues. Gold star. Before leaving they explained to me what to expect in terms of annual repairs, certain warning signs to look for, product warranty life, and so on.

Rick and his team at Vasco do wonderful work. I first used Vasco 20 years ago for a solar heating system for our pool. The system has worked flawlessly all these years and continues to work as expected. My husband and I just purchased a new home. I spoke with two well respected contractors for their opinion on who is the best source for solar installation and upkeep.

Both contractors said they only recommend going with Vasco. So it was a no-Brainer to again use them for my new home's solar needs. This new project was for whole house solar to eliminate our Edison bill as well as providing solar to heat the pool as well as a back up battery to collect solar energy and be used "as needed" in city outages. Rick again has exceeded our expectations in product knowledge along with his amazing and conscientious employees.

His team was extremely professional and were meticulous in their neatness when in my home. I can say with certainty, you will be in great hands with Rick and his highly skilled team of professionals at Vasco!

We have existing solar panels and wanted to have our roof updated. Our roofing company recommended Rick and the Vasco Solar crew. They did a great job coordinating with the roofing company to remove the panels the day before the reroof so we could generate as long as possible. Once roof passed inspection, they came out and put the panels back up. Very clean and efficient and easy to talk to guys. Job well done.

On 07/31/20 I sent out a Yelp inquiry to get solar panels removed and reinstalled after a new roof was to be put on our home. Rick responded the next day stating he would take a look at aerial photos of my home and get back to me with a quote. After waiting a couple of days for a quote, I went with another company and as of today (08/17/20), I've still not received a quote nor a call regarding this project.

Guess there is was just not enough money in it for them to be bothered, I get that but a "hey, we won't do a small job like that" would have been fine instead of just ignoring me completely. Ironic thing is, I am a real estate investor with numerous rental properties and a couple of which I am considering upgrading with solar; Vasco Solar will see none of that business.

Vasco installed our pool solar system a few years ago and it has been great. We had a small leak and they responded quickly to fix the issue under warranty. Really love the system and the service!

DO NOT Even think about using Vasco solar. Once they have your money and slam in a system, they will not support you. I called for technical support and got the run around. I left a negative review on their support. Vasco is now retaliating against me for leaving a negative review, Rick informed me he will Never send a tech out to help because my negative review. Is this the kind of company you want to do business with? Pick another company that is interested in their customers and not just money.

We used Vasco solar to install solar thermal heating for our pool and we have nothing but great things to say about them. Rick, the owner, personally came to walk the job site and was upfront about what was realistic for our situation and was able to deliver on a very competitive price. He was and Lauren were great on getting a timely estimate, site plan, and was available to answer any questions and concerns.

They were able to slot us in in short time, and Justin and the crew showed up on time, completed the entire project in a day, cleaned up everything on the job site and were courteous and friendly all the way through. Justin also followed up a week later on site to make sure everything was working properly. First class from start to finish. Thank you Rick and team!

The Vasco Solar team showed up on time and hit the ground running. They were extremely professional and also took all of our installation concerns very seriously. They installed the pool heater with ease and we are able to enjoy the pool as we are supposed to. Next we will be thinking about getting a solar electric system from Vasco!
