Harold McMahon was introduced to the Plumbing Trade by his Father-in-law, John Rooney in the late 1930's. After serving in World War 2 Harold returned to Boston, and again to work in the plumbing trade with John. A decade later, with considerably more experience and competence, Harold struck out on his own and founded McMahon Plumbing & Heating in 1952.

We had a great experience. Toilet had been leaking so I decided to play plumber. Then realized I need to stick to my day job. McMahon came and tried to help BUT the toilet needed replacing. They were VERY RESPONSIVE. Came back the next day and installed a new toilet. They carefully explained all the costs up front. Plus gave us a 1/2 hour heads up on arrival. Will definitely use again.

A leaky toilet! MacMahon was able to schedule me quickly for an appointment the next business day. The plumber arrived on time and had everything ship shape in less than an hour. He even had the needed parts in his truck, close to hand. They've been my go to plumbing service for years. It's always quality work provided by a knowledgeable professional.

Wanted to share an overall positive experience for a recent problem with tub drainage and a chronic blockage. The plumbers that worked in my home were personable, professional and respectful of myself and my house. They took necessary precautions to prepare surrounding areas for cutting out an old clogged pipe and replacing with PVC pipe. Not an easy job! I would definitely hire this team again for any future issues.

Had to have new garbage disposal installed and though their were issues that required a extra service to extend the PVC P- trap that had nothing to do with them, their prices were fair, and I highly commend the service technician, a very pleasant affable, congenial young man who made the whole experience of his being here for over 21/4 hours very, very nice and even friendly personally, I enjoyed his company as he comes across as a generally good guy! Adam at McMahon Plumbing & Heating was very patient with me and my fellow condo owners. He looked all four water heaters and discussed the current state of each and spoke with each owner about their individual water heater, as well as the building water heater. He and his team worked quickly and efficiently replace two of our water heaters. Very satisfied.

I had them come to my place to see what is wrong with my heating system. They charged me 129$ just to come, and they say I need to replace the whole unit because they do not have the motor. I later found the motor with some other company and they were able to fix it. After, McMahon took a deposit of 500$ for the new unit even though I did not want it.
When I asked for my money back, they charge me 129$ for coming which is fine, but they still charged me for 198$ because they were making phone calls to find a new motor. Also, they blocked my phone number because I was making phone calls to them to return my money. This is nonsense do not go for this company, they over charge you for nothing.

The technician was on time and communicated what needed to be done, updated me in the progress, and fixed the issue. He went above and beyond what was needed in order to fix our heat. Had a great experience working with McMahon for our new high efficiency boiler. Mike was very helpful and patient in explaining our options and the pros and cons of each. They always answered my calls and emails in a timely fashion making scheduling easy and quick even during a very busy time of the year for them. The installation looks extremely professional and system works great.
The installation team was very respectful and friendly (and a big hit with our dog!). The area was perfectly cleaned up after they left. Highly recommend working with McMahon
