Last summer, I called this company to fix my AC which was blowing no air. Davis/Phoenix made 2 visits on the same day. On the first visit they performed unnecessary cleaning on outside unit and charged $210. They said cool air would resume in an hour or so. But after a few hours, I realized AC still wasn't working and I called company to return. On second visit, company diagnosed problem as a freon leak. Davis cleared ice build up on the unit and filled unit with adequate amount of freon.
The AC finally began to work. But Davis charged an additional $210! They claimed initial payment was to replace a part. Wow! After they left I discovered that they put company logo stickers on units inside and outside house (without my permission). However, because Davis only repaired leak, I'm dealing with same leak currently. I have no idea why I didn't think to ask the company to seal the leak to prevent ongoing problems.
But I shouldn't have to think of the solution to the problem. That's what Davis was hired to do. I guess it was more profitable to come back each year to service my unit than to actually fix the problem. I called another company who fixed the problem along with sealing the leak for $600. So the total cost of leak to me was $1,020.00. I feel so terrible that I put my trust in Davis. I was definitely ripped off. Live and learn.
