Oneill is simply great, have been using them for years! Service: HVAC system maintenance

Do not use them! These people are scams. We hired them to service the furnace. They just opened it, looked at it and said everything is fine. They don't even change the filters because quoting him "I didn't bring in any filter because we don't know what system you have!". We also paid for the service for the humidifier, they did not do anything about it, and the technician lied to us saying that we have a brand new filter and there is no need to change.

After he left, I checked and it is not true, the system has all the calcium built from last year. He simply didn't check at all. And btw, they take your money at the time when you make the appointment. You cannot do anything about it because your money is already gone before they come to your house.

We gave O'Neill over $13,000 in business this year, replacing two split system air conditioners and a furnace. They did a good job on the installation, but when we had some issues after the install, the service department never returned any of our calls. And we had even paid O'Neill for a service contract! (totally thrown out money.) I'm sorry to say that we will never hire O'Neill again.

Critical: Quality DO NOT USE O'NEILL! They install systems that they know won't work and they have no solutions when you call them back to fix it. O'Neill Contracting is a stellar operation. O'Neill installed my furnace when I went from oil to gas and I found them to be a professional first class Business. I maintain a service contract with them for all my heating needs. I had them replace my water heater this year and marveled over the workmanship and efficiency. They are a 10 Star Operation.

I live in Bergenfield and had heard of Oneill a lot, but I hesitated in calling them afraid that it was going to be too expensive. I was perhaps one of the last home owner around still using oil fuel to heat the home I had looked forward to a "conversion" of my old furnace into a gas furnace. I finally Called them just before Christmas day, a man name Anthony arrived and it took him a few minutes to give me an estimate for a new furnace and the possibility to have AC as well with the same furnace!.

On the day after Christmas, 4 workers arrived on schedule at 8 am and by lunch time the work was done!. The entire new furnace is powerful and the high tech digital thermostat that came with it, changed our lives forever. Is day and night the difference between oil fuel and gas heat. The house is warmer without even touching the thermostat. They charged me less than $5,000 for the entire job, when everyone else estimated it from $800 to $10,000

They sent 3 different technicians and everyone said different things and last one who came said something totally wrong and made me waste time and money and ended up not fixing it. When I called the company and complained receptionist said she has nothing to do with it and next available date is almost 3 weeks from now.

I don't typically do reviews, but I was in a bind today and the company I typically use did not respond to my call and my house was freezing. Even though the fix itself took 5 minutes, they came in 40 minutes on a Sunday!

O'Neill installed a ductless mini split heater/AC in our bathroom addition. Their price was competitive, they advised us of all rebates available and did the paperwork required. The job went smoothly, scheduling was not a problem and all the technicians were very polite. I will certainly use them again.

Our furnace broke down on New Year's Eve just as we were about to have friends over for the evening. Despite the late hour, the freezing temperatures outside and the long day he had had, the technician responded to us promptly and cheerfully. And lucky for us, he was able to fix the problem and get our heat back up and running. We are still so grateful! O'Neill saved our New Year's Eve and we've been toasty warm ever since.

O'Neill Contracting installed a new furnace and A/C unit and we could not be more happy with their work. Their price was competative and they did a beautiful job. Our basement was cleaner when they left than when they arrived. The workers were professional and personable. They showed up as promised and worked right through a rain storm. I don't understand the old, negative reviews. I would highly recommed them.

I have been recommending this company for years. Brian O'Neill is been in business for a long time and that means a lot. You have to be good at what you do to achieve longevity. As a real estate agent, I work with contractors all the time and recommend them to my buyers and sellers. I've never had one complaint in I'd say, close to 20 years.

Last week was yet another example. A homeowner called me up for help. Her mom passed away and she was clearing out the house to get it ready for the market. It was a hot day and the central air suddenly quit. She's not local and didn't know who else to call because other contractors she'd been told to call were either unresponsive or seemed to be not all that forthright.

The company who had been servicing the house forever seemed to be the worst - took a quick look and told her the entire unit needed to be replaced with a staggering bid amount. Of all the contractors who came, Brian was the only one who told her that she did not have to replace the entire unit. All she needed was 1 part. The cost difference on this? Tremendous.

Please note that when she called Brian, she'd told him that an estimate for replacement was needed. While my client was surprised, I wasn't. I've heard stories like this about O'Neill Contractors before. My experience with them is that they do excellent work and are highly ethical. It's no wonder they've been in business for a long time.

O'Neill installed a ductless cooling system for me in my home. There were some scheduling issues but in the end when Jay and Anthony came to do the work they did a great job. The installation was thorough and perfect and they cleaned up everything before they left. I recommend O'Neill contracting but strongly suggest you find your own electrician.

Terrible. They installed a new trane system in my condo 6 months ago' Since the installation I have had countless problems. They have been in my apartment over 10 times to fix their mistakes. Another unit owner in my building installed a system with them one week after me, and he is desperate too. He has the same issues. These people don't know what they are doing. STAY AWAY!
