I grew up in a small town called Advance, Indiana before calling Zionsville "home" in the early 1970's. Advance is a large farming community and this is where I learned that treating people right will get you further in life. Working on the farms with my grandfather at a young age taught me the responsibility of an honest days work.
Control Tech's service department is one of the finest in central Indiana. All of our Service Vehicles are radio dispatched; this provides us with timely service. When our customers call us we have a live person answer the phone not a machine with a recording. Our customers are provided with a time that our service technician will be at their home or place of business.

I am disappointed that I have to write this, but I think it is necessary to get attention from administration at Control Tech and to caution potential customers. I am not a good writer, and it is a long story, but I think it is worth the read. I am signed up for Control Tech's biannual HVAC maintenance program, where technicians will inspect our HVAC system twice yearly in order to help maintain it and get a discount/priority on service, should any emergent situations arise.
A couple nights ago, I came home from work around 8:15pm to find that the temperature in our house was the same as outside, 84 degrees Fahrenheit. This despite our nanny running the air conditioning all day to try to lower the temperature. I am not an expert in air conditioning maintenance and service, but I knew that something was wrong. Therefore, I called the Control Tech emergency service number to see if we could get assistance.
Upon explaining our situation and informing them we have an infant at home, the scheduler told me that someone could make it out that very evening, but unfortunately, the call dropped. So, I called again. The second scheduler told me the same thing as the first - they could have someone out that very evening. She said that a technician would call me as soon as he was available.
I was not expecting it, but I thanked her very much for the accommodation, and apologized for the late call. Then I got a call from the technician, Larry, and the bad experience began. Without a greeting, the very first thing Larry said on the phone with explicit anger was: "Why did you send in two emails for emergency service?" I replied, "Uh, I am sorry, but my first call dropped, and I don't know if they got all the information they needed." He then stated that he was not near my location, and that he was working on a job that would take a while to complete, so he could potentially be at our house in a couple hours.
I informed him that I appreciated it, and as long as it was not inconvenient for him, I'd be awake and ready. About an hour later, as I was putting our infant to bed, I ended up missing Larry's call. About 5-10 minutes after his missed his call, I called him back. On this call, he requested that he just come out the next morning, as it was more convenient for him.
I did not want to be a nuisance, and since I noticed that the overnight temperature was going to drop to the low 60s, I said that was fine. However, the next morning, I received no phone call. So, I called the office to see when Larry would come by. But, they informed me that no one could make it out to our home for another 7-8 days. I was not very happy, so I called Larry, and he said that he couldn't do anything about it.
I explained to him my frustration, and he fought back, arguing that if I hadn't missed his call the night prior and waited to call him back for an hour, he would have come over since he was working close by. That was a complete lie and contradiction to what he said the night before. Furthermore, he was the one who suggested that I just wait to have him (or someone else) come by the next day.
When I called him out on it, he hung up on me. I work in a community pharmacy, so I deal with people in all walks of life in a customer service setting. I understand that it is very hard to find sufficient help in today's economy, especially for HVAC companies in the early summer months. Technicians are likely very stressed, and dealing with people in emergency situations, like me, cannot be easy. However, that does not give Larry the right to disrespect and lie to me, especially since I was originally appreciative of his time and effort.
My interactions with Control Tech have been mostly positive, and I'd likely give them a 4 star rating had it not been for Larry. In all services I have received, I have never dealt with someone as bad as him. It has completely soured the business I will have with this company. I wouldn't trust him to do anything. I advise that, if you use Control Tech for HVAC needs, request anyone come out except Larry.

The Lennox website indicates this company is one of its dealers. So I thought that I could purchase a pressure switch for my Lennox furnace. I went their office and gave them the model of my Lennox furnace and the part I wanted, but was told that they don't sell parts over the counter and need to a $ 99 diagnosis of my furnace before selling the pressure switch to me. This is what a dealer does? Very disappointing!

I feel like I do not share good reviews enough and am always quick to review when we receive bad service. I wanted to be sure to give the people at Control Tech a good review. Our heat went out back in February when I was about 3 days away from my due date with our first child. It was freezing cold outside and we needed heat stat. Control Tech was able to get us in the next day and got our heat running that night.
Then when the heat wave came in June we found our AC was not cooling properly, we had to go through the weekend with a hot house but they were able to come out the Monday I called to get it fixed for us. We now have a happy household and everyone is sleeping more comfortably including out almost 4 month old. So happy with our choice to have our 20 year old HVAC replaced by Control Tech and would HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Thank you!

I have used Control Tech for a few years now. They are very responsive and professional. They affordably installed a new system at one home and have done checkups at the new home. Once they came out to do a scheduled check up for my unit and the technician discovered a gas leak from my water heater, then fixed it. I couldn't thank that tech enough. Great service. 10 out of 10. Would recommend.

I used ControlTech back in 2015 to install a new furnace and A/C unit. Since then, I have been using their 3/year service program for the system. I find their technicians to be knowledgeable, professional, and on-time. I have had a few minor issues with the system and they have resolved during the regular service call. I also find their plan to be a good value for ensuring my system operates properly.

Been using Control Tech for years. They maintained my previous system so well. That I hired them to install the last one. They stand behind their products. Family company and local. They have told me when I needed to do things and when they could wait. You won't find that from most folks anymore. Planning on using them when I replace my next HVAC units.

From consultation to installation, the Control Tech team did an excellent job! During consultation, Matt Butler answered our questions and provided us with several opinions and options. He was very knowledgeable and professional. His communication was great and he was very responsive through phone and email. The installation team (Doug and Doug) showed up on time on the installation days.
They did a great job of answering our questions and always kept us updated on their progress. They were professional and did a great job of preparing the area and cleaning up after they were finished. Their expertise in installation did not go unnoticed. The cost of the products/installation was reasonable and what we budgeted for. I would highly recommend Control Tech!

Control Tech has never let us down. They installed a new HVAC in both our previous and current homes. The experience was overwhelmingly positive. As for value, Control Tech isn't the cheapest but you get what you pay for. I trust they have my best interest in mind, unlike Summer's which feels like a money grab. Their technicians are professional and polite and they take their time to explain any issues. I recommend Control Tech to all my friends and family.

Control Tech replaced our AC and Furnace in our house in 2014. We have since moved and (unfortunately) had the need to have a new AC & Furnace installed again in our new house. We called Control Tech again and everything went just as smooth, if not even better. Curtis and Matt installed our unit. They were very helpful with great insight on other cooling and heating questions we had for our house (we have 2 zones). We could have not asked for a better installation (and installers). I cannot recommend Control Tech enough.

I called on a Friday morning about a loud and unusual sound coming from my furnace. A service man was at my home by noon and shortly thereafter had diagnosed the problem. He left to get the needed part and quickly returned. He installed the new part and tested it to ensure repair. The furnace is now working quietly as before! Great job! I highly recommend Control Tech!
