For 100 years, Clyde S. Walton has provided outstanding service to communities in the North Penn area. Founder Clyde Snyder Walton started his business in 1921 at the corner of Broad and Hancock Streets in Lansdale, the same spot the company occupies today. The original business was a gas station and car dealership, but in 1936 Mr. Walton entered the fuel oil business, starting with a single truck.

We are very disappointed and dissatisfied with our experience with Walton's. It was filled with dishonest business practices and unresponsive customer service. We started smelling oil outside our home and called Walton's to investigate (we had a service plan with them). The technician who came out told us we legally had to have the tank removed that day due to the amount it was leaking and was surprised at the amount of rust on the tank.
The tank had severe corrosion, pitting, rust, and leakage. Our oil tank obviously wasn't inspected thoroughly at our yearly servicing that happened just a few months prior. After the removal, we were sent an invoice for the removal costs as well as an estimate for the installation of a new tank. The estimate for installation also included removal costs.
We called multiple times to verify that was correct and that we wouldn't need to pay the initial invoice balance if we chose to use their service for the new tank. However after the installation work was done, we were told actually we did have to pay the initial invoice. We would not have gone with Walton's for the installation of a new tank if we knew that was the case, which based on our multiple assurances sounds a lot like fraud.
We tried to resolve this issue and come to an agreement multiple times but consistently dealt with unresponsive people like Michael Smuda and Chris Walton. After Chris Walton called to deliver an ultimatum (pay or be sent to collections) after not getting back to us for over a month like he said he would, we were getting ready to take this issue to small claims court as we still feel wronged by this company.
We decided to pay it just to be done and have switched to a much better local company. This was by far the biggest issue we dealt with at Walton's, but certainly not the only one. We hope never to have to do business with a company that clearly lacks integrity like Walton's again.

Always prompt, always reliable! Service guys are consistent, knowledgeable & considerate. They always remove shoes/wear booties without being asked. Walton's communication is 5 stars without a doubt! Good service is hard to find, which is why it's so refreshing to know that Walton's maintains the old school service mentality.

Great experience from Walton, Inc. with our central air install. Rich and Tom came up with great options to provide air to our addition which was tricky. The employees were professional and hard working, the work was done in a timely manner, and the price was competitive. Would definitely recommend them!

Walton installed a new Oil Furnace November, 2021. Everything went very smoothly. Very easy to work with the team. The installers respectful, neat, efficient, on time, etc. Walton had the size furnace (a good furnace) I needed as I have a small 1,000 sq. ft. house. The cost was reasonable and can receive discounts if paid early / upfront, etc. The furnace has been working great.no issues at all.

The first 2 years were excellent however this year the customer has not been good. Had to reschedule our cleaning that was made months in advance. When tech came to clean heater he couldn't get off oil filter. He then told me he forgot to check the chimney we called Walton and they told us they had to investigate the problem 4 weeks later still waiting to have someone come out to finish the job.

Friendly technical staff, and wear booties to avoid dirtying your floors. They work quietly and efficiently and will answer any questions you may have about the work they did. If necessary they will suggest a change or upgrade in your furnace but they do not push it on you to make a sale. Simply supplying you information. (Rated 4 stars only because I don't give everyone a 5 star rating. I reserve them for goods and services completely over the top, like Nigel's amplifier which goes to Eleven.)

I definitely recommend you to others for both the heaters, maintenence, and oil delivery. Walton has responded in a timely way to our recent homeowner crises related to our hot water and heating system. Additionally after installing a new oil tank they initiated and revisited the installation with our first oil delivery to be certain there was no significant spillage of oil. Waltons has serviced us for 25 years. Kept our old 60 year boiler running great. Last year replaced boiler and added a split mini system for AC/supplemental heat. It's been awesome! A few of our blower motors (strange old system setup) in various rooms have died over the years and those motors are not easy to locate but the Walton folks have been successful.
When they came for the new system one year checkup I pointed out another motor had finally died and they found one quickly. I highly recommend Walton. Both the office staff and techs are nice to work with.

The folks at Walton did awesome work on our whole system install. We had a lot of issues with our oil backup and our heat pump and had an absolute horrible experience with other companies in the area. Walton and their team helped navigate us through to find the best system for us. We spoke with several of the salesmen, techs and service team and each explained everything clearly and did great work. Chris, the owner, even followed up to make sure we were happy with the install and new system. Cannot say enough nice things about this company. They should be your first call when looking to upgrade your heating and cooling system.

So Walton's acquired G Nase and Son earlier this year. I had G Nase for years and loved their personal service. So being a new "client" of Walton's, I submitted an online request for service and to sign up for a plan. I got an automated email confirmation but no response for 2 to 3 weeks. Unacceptable. Then I called today to follow up and they said I couldn't get a cleaning until almost March 2020. Wait.what?
What happened to 2019? I've been a client all year and they never reached out via mail or phone to ask about getting serviced? Totally unacceptable and not the service I have been used to getting! Why would a company acquire other companies and then not properly service them? Sounds like an MBA case study for how to NOT run and grow a company successfully.
They never even apologized for these issues. Bad planning and management for sure. This is by far one of the worst customer service experiences I have had. I hope Walton's paid a ton of money for my old oil company and that all of their new customers leave due to this terrible service. It feels like they didn't have a clue how to properly grow through acquisition and the new clients are suffering.
Lots of good reviews on here. Maybe they were good at one time, but not based on my recent experience. I'm off finding a new provider. Probably Moyer. I hear good things about them. Very disappointed in Walton's. Very very disappointed.

I had them install entire HVAC system. I am very picky and careful when selecting people to work in my home. First no high pressure sales, just a great price and honest quote. Trust me I had a few! And the installers were so careful. Put down tarps throughout my house and wore the booties to protect my floors. The guys were the nicest and so professional. And the Lenox unit is working so smooth and so nice. Great experience and I don't give reviews lightly.

ENDANGERED MY FAMILY. Went to Walton today to let them know my heater wasn't working. It set off the carbon monoxide detector in the middle of the night, and I had to turn it off. It is cold in the house. My four year old and seven year old are in danger, my 75 year old father lives on the first floor, the carbon monoxide was being generated in the basement.
I was told they would have a technician here today to at least diagnose the problem, until I got a call from the technician telling me he couldn't come until tomorrow. I get to choose if my kids die from carbon monoxide poisoning or if they freeze to death. thank you Walton, the Moyer tech will be here in an hour. The suggestion of the replacement was made to my elderly father.
The red warning label you hung from the shutoff switch telling him not to use the heater moving forward was in the basement, which is inaccessible to him because of the stairs. I am happy to see that my review prompted a follow up to this dangerous situation three years later. I appreciate you (finally) taking the time to be concerned, now that your Yelp star rating has been affected.

Plumber did come right out when I called the heater wasn't working right. Called around 4:30 and plumber arrived about 4:45 pm. He was here 5 min said he had to go out to truck and didn't return till 5:10 pm. Opened heater door 2 min later said needed to order a board. Didn't see him touch anything other than filter. He had a attitude from the time he arrived like he was ticked he had to come out.
I bought this heating system from this company so that is why I called them. When I asked if the part would be in tomorrow he said with attitude he didn't know that someone would be in touch. No heat and no idea when it was getting fixed. He said he needed 124.00 so I handed my credit card and he said he didn't take credit card. I said well I don't have cash so that was a problem.

Update to this review is that they sent new tech out today to repair heater and didn't charge me for previous days tech. This is the customer service that I always knew from Walton plumbing. Last night our Central Air stopped working, I called this morning and they were able to get technicians out by noon today. The technicians were polite and courteous, quickly diagnosed the problem, installed the necessary part for a reasonable overall price. We were previous HVAC & oil customers when we lived in Lansdale and had always been satisfied with our service; we will definitely be using Walton for our new home too.

First of all, oil was delivered to my home when it wasn't supposed to be. Then I was stuck with a $600 bill. I spoke with their customer service and was told they would split the payment in half. Okay. Then I get one payment ticket for the first $300 and send in my payment. I'm waiting the whole next month for my next payment ticket so I can finish getting this paid off.
The bill never came? So I called the place and asked why my bill was never sent and I know that payment is due. They told me I wouldn't receive a payment ticket for the second payment. Why? This makes no sense. how am I supposed to submit a payment without a payment coupon to mail in? Then last night I get a nasty email from their collections lady Gwendolyn saying it's of concern that my first oil delivery payment wasn't received as promised.

We signed our renewal contract & hand delivered to the office. Tonight we needed service because they lost our contract & we ran out of oil. This is not the first time but it is the last time. Do not do business with this company. Oh we have a credit in our account & still needed to pay. Credit was more than the check I just wrote to get my house warm.

Tech did thorough job diagnosing heat pump problem. I was initially dissatisfied that first appointment was no show and rescheduled along with being charged more than quoted. BUT, customer service was great as I had a follow up call and refund of the disputed amount. Tech did great job and found issue that required replacement of system, I would have wasted more money had I tried to have serviced.
I decided on using Omni Heating and Cooling for new install, but Clyde S Walton was a close second; I would recommend. First unit failed twice within 9 years, bad install by Stanley Cooper. Moisture in system caused unit to fail 2 years after install, I had to pay $2000 for service and new install as Lennox only covered parts and blamed installer.
Second failure confirms that you should stay away from Stanley Cooper! Clyde S Walton is one of the few local hvac contractors I would be comfortable with. Very professional.

They never delivered my oil last week. I called Wednesday morning and was told it would be delivered by Friday. During blizzard 2016 weekend I had to keep my heat between 55-60 to make sure we didn't run out of oil. When I spoke to someone Monday morning they could have cared less. He said they have to take care of their full service customers first.
They couldn't guarantee oil could be delivered today because of the roads. Then they said they could get me 10 gallons! Why bother driving to me for 10 gallons, just fill the tank. I was very disappointed. I have used them for a few years now. When I called last week I knew they weren't the cheapest but I stuck with them anyway. Now I am scrambling to get oil before leaving for work. Last thing I need is freezing kids and pipes.

Since my Inlaws had used the company for heater and oil service we called for a Heater cleaning. Since this would have been a one time cleaning to try it out we were put on the bottom of the list without any idea when we would get our heater serviced. It would have been nice to give us a specific date for a service call instead of leaving us hanging. A new Customer lost.sorry.

We were a Walton customer for over 20 years. We had a new system installed sand within 1 year we notiiced large amounts of rust in the heat exchanger service ports. To encapsulate, Waltons tried to fix the problem over a period of years, only because we prodded them to do so. In the end, they couldn't fix it Our lives were in danger if the heat exchanger rusted totally.
After a GREAT amount of time and effort spent on our part, we were able to find another (Rydal Heating- highly recommended) who worked with the manufacturer and they determined the problem - the A/C drip pan was installed too close to the heating unit (only 1" and manufacturer specs said 6" or more). Obviously we severed ties with Clyde Walton Inc. and are grateful that it only cost us 5 years of aggravation and not the lives of our family.

Prefer local businesses willing to use their own name! 2014 agreeing w/ 2009 reviewer "Can't say enough good things about Walton Oil"! Both field and office help the best. When no one else would help new homeowner in danger of pipe freeze/burst/flood, Walton's stayed late til got job done and well, attaining a new customer for life continued satisfied unlike some neighbors w/ other companies we don't run out of oil and we appreciate automatic deliveries, trouble-free preventative annual service plan inc thorough free cleaning, and discounts for prompt non-creditcard pay and for locking in fuel price & availability via prepay or monthly payment options.
They can help winterize home for absence we'll leave them a housekey when install computerized thermostat for our remote control and calls to them for help we learned vital after prior PA home's furnace shut down by local power surge froze/burst pipe/flooded.
