I called this company to fix an outside hot and cold water faucet that had been leaking due to freezing and to also pump out my septic tank for a house recently purchased, the septic work was fine, they told me the faucet is a special ordered faucet and they would have to return to replace it, no problem, the problem is they charged me $250 just to look at it the faucet! that is a complete rip off, I ordered the faucet myself online it's only $85. Beware before you call.

Emergency plumbing on a Saturday, charged by the hour, so I greatly appreciated that he worked quickly. Solved the problem. Came back on a weekday to address the non-emergent stuff that could wait (lower weekday rate). Knowledgeable and efficient.

Both sump pumps stopped working and flooded the basement. Chris came out the following morning and replaced both sump pumps, taking care of the standing water. Always responsive and great quality work.

If there were negative stars I would use them. They said they can handle any job and have all the materials on the truck they would need. They showed up late but charge for when they were supposed to arrive, had nothing on the truck they needed and made several trips for supplies and seemed to come back with something different to eat each time while they stood around figuring out what to do.

The 1-2 hr fix turned into an 8 hr day and they even sat in the truck for 30 minutes to write up the bill and that time is included in your bill. Very dishonest and inexperienced.

Outstanding and honest service. We needed a full replacement of our 80' lateral sewer drain pipe out to the sanitary sewer main located in the backyard all underground. Chris and Gino worked very hard to complete this difficult job and get us back in the house. They kept us informed throughout the 3 days and were so great to talk to. They really cared about our situation.

I can't say enough about these two professionals, their extreme hard work, their talent and experience. The support from the main office was also excellent and prompt. Jeff Messick was responsive to our requests and came through for us.

Be aware that they charge $151 per hour for a tech and $48 trip fee. They also charged me $105 for a tub spout and $36 for a drain cover. Those are about $20 in parts from home depot. They definitely have a big mark-up on parts on the truck. The hourly rate seems absurd to me although we are in NJ. To have my tub valve replaced, it would have been close to $1800.really? I'd look for another plumber and will never use again. read the other reviews.they are similar in nature. My bad for not reading them myself!

I want to start off by saying this is certainly not the type of call I like to make, but in an emergency I am sure glad I called MJM Plumbing & Heating. The response was quick, the service was on demand and because of their extensive knowledge and experience in the area were able to provide a fast repair. Cost is something that again is not normally in my budget, but after the fact and doing the research I fee totally confident in my decision and the results. I would highly recommend their business and thank you so much for your help!

Recommended by a neighbor. Called them out to investigate a clogged kitchen sink at rental and they were able to come same day, which was nice. $148/hr for technician, 1 hr minimum, plus $48 service charge, communicated upfront and agreed to by me. Technician attempted but was unable to clear out the clog, citing old, galvanized pipes and tee fittings vs 90s. $260 charge, so presumably the technician worked on the problem for 1.5 hours + service charge. Fair enough, pipes are definitely old and galvanized. Advised they would return Monday to replace the galvanized pipes with PVC, estimated cost would be

I was on vacation, in Florida, last week when I received a call from a builder working on my house. My crawl space was filling up with water. He checked my sump pump and found that it had burned out. I am a plumber by trade and knew exactly what I wanted. The best work, by a professional, at a fair price. I got all three. I had a plumber at my house first thing the next morning.

He put in a sump pump that I consider top of the line and the work was meticulous. The price was extremely fair. I chose Messick because I wanted to go to sleep 1,200 miles from home knowing I could rest easy because I would get excellent service and I did. I can not recommend them enough. Excellent workmanship, by a professional, at a fair price. It can't be stated enough. Jimmy

Very bad service! They charged us hourly and did not finish the project. They were not honest/open about pricing and charged us for the parts that were not needed to be changed. Person who visited us for plumbing was very unprofessional and rude. He spent most of the time being on the phone rather than performing the job and charged us for around 3 -4 hours just to change shower ring and replacing one faucet.

We just wanted to change sink faucet for design update, they dissembled the whole sink and said that parts were not enough to make it functional. We would appreciate professional justification from any plumber about what parts are needed before dissembling the perfectly working sink. The problem with their service was that they charge hourly and work very slow and inefficiently.

When they are at our facility and charging hourly they should not waste time on phone. ( the plumber spent total of 30 mins on phone rather than finishing his work) They opened our sink parts without checking, if there are enough parts to assemble it back again. This shows lack of proficiency in their work and poor management. The plumber then left abruptly without fixing our sink and charged us 1000 dollars to change one sink faucet( with our own parts) and one shower ring, that's insane!

Messsick Plumbing has saved me TWICE in the last month! Once from a nasty clog in my kitchen sink and yesterday from a hot water heater fiasco. They were extremely responsive and had someone out the same day I called both times. Their prices are reasonable, or so I think having nothing to compare them with. And both guys that came out were very pleasant and knowledgeable. I will absolutely use them again for any future needs although I'm hoping it will be quite a while before I need them again!

Michael Messick Plumbing really saved me- I was in a bind with about 4 hours left in the day on a Friday and needed a plumber. Their schedule was packed but they thankfully had time to send someone over. The plumber, John, arrived to my home. He was professional, courteous and efficient as he got to work right away. He asked if there was anything else I wanted him to look at while he was there (there was!). I would definitely use again and highly recommend!
