Wow. Read all the negative reviews below. Totally unethical company. I signed up for an annual HVAC maintenance agreement ($268+ tax). They show up for the first maintenance and then tell me it's $129. Huh? The maintenance agreement covers spring & winter. Well, it's spring. They say I have to wait 6 months (even though they already charged me 2 mths for the plan). So, looks like they wanted $129 + $300 for the plan.

Never disclosed. Told them to take a hike, Now, they want to charge me for making a service call even though nothing was done. Obnoxious Jennifer Friedly told me they "don't work for free". Meanwhile, I took a day off work to deal with this fiasco. I don't work for free either. Stay away from these clowns. Nothing but money grubbing hounds and totally rude. **Update - I was an ACTIVE customer.

They started billing me for the annual maintenance plan. Apparently, you need to wait 6 months to schedule any type of maintenance. Does that make sense?! Those terms were NEVER disclosed. I'm sure people just cave to the $129 fee on first visit. Unethical way of doing business. You can't have this many negative reviews and continue to be trusted.

What type of company bills for annual maintenance and then requests more money on top of it, without clear disclosure? I specifically asked their office numerous times if $268 + tax was the annual fee. They responded yes. I even offered to pay the annual fee up front (they apparently bill monthly) to cover any concerns they may have had from other customers skipping out. I NEVER asked for any FREE services. That claim is absolutely ludicrous. Worst shakedown I've ever seen from a business.**

20/20 Air came in and installed a ductless split system in our home and we could not be happier! They were punctual, organized, and cleaned up after themselves every day. We were kept in the loop throughout the whole process and will recommend them any chance we get.

I received a courtesy call from the office and Hector arrived just when they said he would. He donned his protective booties & got right to work. He knew exactly what he was doing and was very meticulous in cleaning my tankless hot water heater and methodical in its repair. I'm so happy he got it up and working again in a short period of time! He was excellent!

Really helpful and quick to respond when we had no heat. Both guys were super nice and professional. I appreciated that they broke down the issue, what was needed to fix the issue, and what were other things I should look at for near term, but didn't need right now. They were efficient and will definitely use them again in the future. Services: Heating system maintenance, Repair HVAC

Sadly this company has failed us. I don't make a habit of writing bad reviews but I feel others need to be aware of our experience. In this case I'm not faulting the techs. but rather the policies in place and management. After spending over $15k for an AC system a few years ago they wanted to charge us $1600 (plus potentially up to 9 pounds of refrigerant at $109 per pound) to fix a leak they stated was from the coil inside the unit in the attic.

They wouldn't itemize the $1600 charge. They stated that's what they do. Keep in mind the coil was under warranty! We decided to get another opinion. Turns out the coil was leaking at the connection into the unit(most of the coil is inside the unit however). The other company which we sought the other opinion did fix the issue by reflaring the end of the copper tubing and tightened up the fitting again, adding some refrigerant and testing.

When the tech of the other company showed me where the leak originated from it was from the end of the flare that was most likely improperly worked on when the unit was installed. So it leaked slowly over time most likely. I asked the tech is this what is normally done in the industry (meaning cutting the end off and reflaring) as opposed to replacing the entire coil, he said absolutely there was no need to replace the coil.

And this other company is reputable and has experienced techs. So we spent around $300 dollars to fix this issue. Remember the 20/20 estimate ranged from $1600 - $2581 (not including tax). We had called 20/20 after their tech came out to identify the issue to let them know we thought the price was too high. NOT ONCE, again. NOT ONCE did the owner or any other manager attempt to make it right. We like to support local company's but unfortunately quality and service are not great with this one.

These people totally do not like seniors, they installed a new heating and air system in my condo it does not work right and they told me to get lost unless I came up with $69 plus tax and trip to look at it so much for their phony one year warranty. to make matters worse it was just failed by the building inspector!

At the end of May 2021 I call 20/20 Air to check why my AC didn't cool enough and long story short the tech didn't find anything wrong just the refrigerant little low and just to be on the safe side he added 1 pound refrigerant (he said). All job was a 5 min work and cost 585$. He told me I have to wait for the system to really work few hours. 5 weeks later my AC is still not cooling proper so I ask for an appointment for the issue to be solved.

They did not show and a manager -Jessica call at the end of the appt to tell me I cannot get an appointment, I have to be on a waiting list, that I don't have a maintenance contract with them and so on just not to fix the problem. When I mentioned that I have warranty 90 days on the work they done I just being told off. I don't recommend to hire this company for anything, they don't stand by they work, they try to push that maintenance contract on you and more work; the Customer service is a nightmare; I wish I knew before to hire them. Im gone make a complain with better business and more; but you guys out there be aware of this horrible business

This is in reference to the response my husband received after he left a bad review for this company. It is not true when you stated that our issues were directly related to lack of maintenance. When your technician installed our unit, they soldered it very incorrectly, which allowed it to work for a period of time. Eventually that very bad soldering job gave way and that's when we called.

When our unit was a block of ice and our basement floor was covered in water. You had someone come out who though it was a condensation pump power issue, which it most definitely was not. We called again, that was when we found the botched job. Thankfully you fixed it but the damage had already been done. No maintenance could have corrected the bad install. Again, someone from your company came out to check a couple of power switches and made "adjustments" when our heat was not working most recently and told us to keep our system in emergency heat (looking forward to the electric bill this month).

This heating issue occurred right after we had your "maintenance check up." We got a second opinion who agrees with the problem being a blockage (likely resulting from the excessive solder used at installation). Not to mention a slew of installation problems we had at the very beginning that no one was interested in hearing about. We are absolutely not looking for "free work" as you have implied, we were just under the impression that if we paid a company top dollar for brand new equipment that it would work more than a couple years.

You should stand by your workmanship. We have had an awful experience overall, and do not recommend anyone else go through this. We have tried to reach the owner several times, but he hasn't been accepting calls in the two plus years we've been dealing with the company.

Do not use this company. I was on a service contract with them paying $25 a month. They cam to do their Spring check up of my heating and air conditioning system. This service is provided twice a year under the service contract. Watch out from there. After they left the inspection, on the next morning the basement floor was covered with water. I was not home and asked my girlfriend to give them a call because they must have done something during the service call to cause the problem.

It turns out that there was condensation in the air conditioning lines and when run filled up the condensate pump. The techs said that the pump was not pumping. They did not explain to her what the pump did and she thought she was in the middle of a water emergency. She texted me and the quote of almost $600 dollars to replace a $50 pump which takes less than 5 minutes to install. IO called her right away and told her not to have them to any work.

Too late pump was replaced. Techs suggested we call the office and try to negotiate. Forget that idea. Their employee in charge of collection is the worst and very rude. To add insult to injury within 12 hours of the techs replacing the pump, the basement floor was covered with water. I called again and was told that they do not warranty any work once they leave your house.

I didn't want another $600 dollar bill so I took a quick look myself. Turns out that there was a kink in the hose from the pump and water could not pass through. Diagnosed and fixed within 3 minutes. I did not need a new pump. Technician did not test to see if pump he installed was working let alone the good one he removed. I don't know about you but when I turn on the garden hose and water does not come out I do not replace the faucet but look for a kink in the hose. Just sayin.

FLAT RATE COMPANY! Do NOT sign a maintenance agreement and do not engage their services unless you just want to GIVE MONEY AWAY. A condenser pump, which costs $50 at Home Depot took the technician 5 minutes to plug in and move the drain line. Total charge $529.52. I'm a customer with a maintenance agreement so that's the charge after a 10% discount and a $25 coupon that was given to me, otherwise it would have been nearly $581 plus tax. (for a $50 part and not even 30 minutes labor) Our story: Day 1- General maintenance check by 20-20, condensate pump was not diagnosed as bad.

Day 2 - I awoke to water all over the basement floor. I'll compliment 20-20 on their quick service, but you will pay for it. Pump was replaced and $529.52 charged. I tried to negotiate with Jessica over the phone and she held strong to their FLAT rate policy, which is high way robbery. We cancelled our maintenance plan. 20-20 continued to charge for the entire contract, 4 months going forward.

Day 3 - Water ALL over the floor again. Because we didn't pay the bill yet, they would not come back out and rectify the situation. She told us their service is not guaranteed. (WHAT?) At the time the pump was installed, we were on a service contract, service isn't guaranteed? Jessica wanted payment in full and then she would send someone out to rectify the situation.

Day 3 (pm) - We found a kink in the line where the water was supposed to be draining. Come to find out, we didn't need a new pump at all. Our original pump was working fine. During maintenance, they should have found the kink in the line and diagnosed why the pump was full of water and not draining properly. 20-20 Installed a new pump for no reason, telling us our old one was faulty. Jessica claims their technicians are masters at their craft and they do not recommend homeowners to do their own work. Well, this homeowner took it in their own hands and found out that this company is not thorough. I do not recommend them at all. Make sure the company you goes with charges for parts and the labor to do so - NOT A FLAT RATE. 20-20 is not charging honest prices.

Stay away from this company. If you've been a victim of this company call the Trumbull or New Milford Police, d hey demanded payment before they completed the AC installation and began threatening me. When the system failed within a couple of weeks they scheduled a service appointed, came back into the house and stole the entire unit promising to return with a replacement. if you've been a victim of this company call the Trumbull or New Milford Police, Detective Division. They need to be put out of Business.

Jennifer Friedly, owner of 20/20 Air, is as unprofessional as I have ever encountered for a couple of reasons. Most notably her foul attitude. After four years of monthly maintenance contract with 20/20 Air and regular maintenance with them I had one "opportunity" to speak to her and she was nasty. You know the kind of nasty that no matter what you try to say she won't let you say it and she'll turn it around and put it on you. It's a technique she's very familiar with.

I come from the school of civility where it okay to disagree without tearing into somebody. It's shocking to me that a business owner would be so awful. So here's what I know about 20/20 Air having been with them for 4 plus years. Her on-site techs push new parts, systems etc. They can't be trusted as to what really needs replacement.

Their go to answer is to "sell" when you ask them questions about your own equipment. Each one has admitted to me that they are under pressure to do so. Apparently, I had offended Jennifer by letting it be known over the years that I wanted the masters of their craft working in my home and not the apprentices. For the monthly retainer price I was paying and additional charges every time they came to do maintenance that she was charging me, I really didn't want somebody who was inexperienced working on both my heating and air conditioning systems.

But as it turned out, and what I've learned is, most of all I want good people in my home. And by that I mean polite and trustworthy. I'd highly recommend not getting mixed up with this group and going with another company. There are so many others to choose from.

The company does not stand by their work. They came to repair my air conditioning system which had a leak. They repaired one part of the leak but not the other! When we asked for them to come back and check on the other leak they wanted to charge us again! They were paid a lot of money for the first visit and I never even got a call from the owner or manager to try and work things out. Awful!

This company installed a brand new 2 zone HVAC system in January 2020. When I went to turn on the AC in June it didn't work and required new parts. The system was new already. Furthermore, they went up in the attic to repair damage caused by another company and stepped on the Sheetrock causing the ceiling to buckle. The owner tried to claim it was pre existing and refused to take any responsibility. And she hung up on me. The workers are great but Jennifer Friendly The owner is unprofessional and won't accept responsibility for a simple accident.

We've been doing business with 20/20 Air since December 2019. They are expensive, but they fixed some issues that we had been having with our HVAC system. Our A/C stopped working last week and we called them to see if they could come and diagnose the issue. Now I don't mind paying for a service call, but I think charging us $257 plus tax to tighten a screw on a damper that they installed in December is outrageous.

We voiced our concern about the charge before the service was performed and the company's response was either pay or the tech would leave. Since we'd been without AC for almost a week, we had them go ahead and tighten the screw with the hope that that was the only problem. Next time we have a problem, I'm going to see if we can find another contractor.

Our experience with 20/20 has always been good; yesterday was no exception with our scheduled maintenance. We usually see Will (who is great) but he was unavailable so Brett handled the call. Brett was friendly, professional and did a thorough job of inspecting and testing our furnace. It was clear that he was running through all of the diagnostics and not taking short cuts. I am really pleased with the service Brett and 20/20 provided us.

I wish I had read these reviews before I purchased a heating/AC unit from 20/20 Air. I went through Costco because I thought I could trust their judgment. I had a 30 year old system and my A/C was giving me trouble. I thought if I spent $18,000, I would be carefree. It will be two years next month and I have had no heat in the winter 5 times. Once I had to wait 3 days, with temperatures as low as 45 degrees in my house. Today, I am getting ready to call because I have no A/C and it will be 90 degrees today.

It was no surprise because this happened last summer. Each visit costs a few hundred dollars for whatever they make up. And I am still under warranty LOL Well, it is funny to them anyway. Please do NOT deal with this company.

Don't walk. Run from this Company. They put in our central air systems 5 years ago, they were advertising in Costco and we love Costco so we thought they would be a vetted partner. Let's start with the install. Total nightmare. Like next day water pouring out of my ceilings.but we don't have time to come out and look at it today, nightmare!

Fast forward to the present day 5 years later my new system stops working. I pull out the paperwork, says 10-year warranty. phew. We call and they say. We do not service your area anymore! WHAT? You installed the system in my house 5 years ago. Sorry. What about the warranty, Oh that's from the manufacturer. OMG! So starts the beginning of Summer and my wild goose chase. Save yourself and RUN

So 20/20 Air has a maintenance service for ductless units - the heating and cooling wall system with an outside condenser. For $179 they send a technician to skim over the units. The entire time spent looking over both units was less than 10 minutes. An that's with the tech taking his time. The tech, who was a nice guy, spent more time on paper work than on the a/c units. FYI, if there's nothing wrong with your unit, don't waste your money. For the service they provide, you can do it yourself and save $179, + tax, while you're at it. The price for this service borders on being a scam.

20/20 recently replaced our whole house air-conditioning unit (our old one died after approx 26 years). Their pricing was competitive; they quoted pricing for 3 different manufacturers which was helpful. The installers came when they said they would and seem to have been competent - the unit has been working flawlessly for a month. We would recommend them.

Jul 28, 2018
Had 20 20 come out to investigate an air conditioning problem at my rental unit. They advised me that it needed a new compressor condenser assembly and the they could convert my system without anything further. Forty five days later ac is blowing warm. Call, they check it out and the coil is now leaking inside and want another 5400.00 to replace the air handler.

When questioned about this I was told this is common and not their responsibility because and I quote " I signed the contract". So I called three other HVAC contractors all of which said they should have never done that and replacing everything was the only way to fix the situtation, two of which would not touch what they did and only quoted full replacement. Best advice find someone else, it will cost you alot less in the long run.

Did a great job of install, people really nice at installation - the problem came later. Their website says '$250 off' if you use WEBOFFER. Which, to be extremely clear, I asked for BEFORE we signed up for the installation. I never got the money because they decided it needed to be on the contract. I asked for it to be included BEFORE we signed, because they said it comes later, and I trusted it would.

However the money never came because it was meant to be on the contract (I know - that's what I asked for; go figure). They argued it was our fault because it wasn't on the contract (you know, they contract they draw up and get you to sign and say that they'll find out about it later? That one!). Extremely peeved at extremely slack after and before service. Just make sure you DON'T sign anything until any discounts are on EVERYTHING!

My mother called for an inspection from 20-20 Air. The guy that arrived immediately showed himself as a profesional. He asked what was the main problem with our air conditioning system (the reason why we called) and he checked the thermostats and the furnace. He is not responsible for the prices he says, and would definitely request his services again!
