Recently, my furnace stopped working and I called Powell for help. They came when they said they would, calling first to let me know the tech was on his way. Dion was friendly, informative and obviously knew what he was doing. In the nicest way possible he told me I would need to replace my furnace at some point in the future (which I already knew).
The fix was a relatively simple one and quickly I had heat again. Dion told me about their Service Plan, which I found to be very worthwhile and purchased. I would not hesitate to emphatically recommend Powell to others.

They replaced an old Bryant system with a new and much more efficient one. It worked perfectly through the heating season and now has proven its cooling capabilities. We liked the personal attention from the estimates, quotation, to the installation. We especially like how quietly the heating and cooling happens.

Had the original furnace go bad. ( 26 years old) had talked to Monte and he got me in touch with Daryl. Got scheduled and it got installed. Few weeks later had an issue and they sent Scott out within a few hours to figure out what was going and happened to be my fault. ( dirty filter i was supposed to replace) Scott threw a new one in and on we go. I was very appreciative of there fast response. I recommend thier services. Thank you guys. Chris

Great service! Called in the morning and had a technician out the same day. Our tech (Monte) was professional; he finished the job quick, answered our questions, made recommendations, and didn't try to up sell us some extended service warranty. I definitely recommend these guys and will be using them for future service.

The project involves some ducting rework.didn't even want to bother with it. Gee, isn't that kinda why you want to hire a professional? I could have done it myself if it was a straightforward replacement. He suggested I contact one of the "larger companies". Wow, Really? I got 4 other bids, and though wildly different in price, not one of them had a problem with doing what needed to be done. Maybe he's just so busy, he doesn't need the work.

He had our AC fixed in no time and then fixed a mistake the previous heating and air company had made. Everyone who works there is kind and courteous. We use them for all of our HVAC needs.

I hate to give bad reviews but I am disheartened by the service I recieved. I called on Saturday for service. I was told the technician on would call me back in which he did. He told me he would charge $150. With the temp in my house at 90 degrees an elderly man and my young child in the house I told him it was necessary. He was here in a timely manner.but after that all went downhill he hooked up gauges and told me there was a leak.somewhere.and looked inside the condenser.
He said theres your leak it needs to be replaced 3200 dollars. I said cant it be fixed.nope he said. He then told me he could charge it for 700 but it would only get us through the summer. I said great.we need to do something. He then told me I would be wasting money.picked up his gauges and went to his van and filled out my bill. I asked him to send me a quote.
His response was I just did. I asked about financing he said no. I told him it was on the website and he told me I was looking at the wrong site. After arguing with me and not even trying to check for leaks I gave him the card and he left. Today another company came out fixed 3 leaks and warrantied the work for a year for 1000 dollars. So sad because this company was recommended to me but I have to say I learned a 150 dollar lesson on poor service.

Well I cannot say enough how much I appreciated working with Darryl and Powell heating. I originally was using a different company and had a really bad experience. After lots of research Powell came highly recommended from a commercial company and lived up to my expectations. He came in at a lower price than the other companies and had the workmanship that you hope for. They were easy to get a hold of despite it being the busy season. Installed a new AC unit and made sure there were no leaks. Highly recommend Powell Heating!

I called for a checkup of our heating system before winter arrives. They were not able to schedule a technician for almost 4 weeks but since it was just a checkup I was not concerned. I was not able to meet the technician so I showed my wife the pressure relief valve that was leaking and asked her to be sure and show it to the technician. He looked at the system and told her the system was over pressurized because of a faulty pressure reducing valve on the supply line and there was no air vent on the circulation loop.
Because of these "serious" problems he was going to "walk away" from the job! She called me and he told me the same thing. When I got home I checked the system and found that the water supply was SHUT OFF and there was NO pressure in the system. The pressure gauge is bad! A new pressure gauge is less than $20 and will take about 5 minutes to replace.
The air vent is a little more than $20 and will probably take a good thirty minutes to install. I am not sure why the technician from Powell was so incompetent but I would not recommend them to anyone!

I had a problem with my York D90 furnace so called : short cycles I initially contacted another co. in Sparks, whose sticker was attached to the furnace, indicating there were working on it in the past. Their technician correctly diagnosed the problem, but gave me astronomical price for the part-10X of what it is on Internet. The tech from Powell not only replaced the control board for a reasonable price, but also indicated that wiring was wrong, which I suspect the guy from previous co. did to force me to come back to them. it was fixed under 1 hour term and the owner- Darrel honored my senior discount, which certainly a nice gesture. Highly recommend!

I contacted Powell for an A/C repair. The inside fan stopped running. Fortunately it was not really hot at the time this happened. They were able to accommodate me fairly quickly but asked for morning appointment as the furnace is in the attic and it can get rather hot working in there. I had no problem with this. The service man arrived promptly at the appointed time and went to work right away.
Problem turned out to be burnt out relay on circuit board on a very poorly designed York unit. (As a side note, I would not purchase a York if I were in the market for a new unit or building a home). He performed a through inspection to ensure there was not an underlying reason which would cause this to happen. The price was reasonable compared to what the charges are these days. I am extremely confident with Powell's work and the service man was very professional and an asset to the company. I would call them again if service were needed.

AC in our Reno house quit working on a record breaking weekend! Called Powell first thing on Monday morning and received a service visit by shortly after 10 AM. Problem diagnosed in minutes and they had the correct part on the truck, so AC was up and running! The tech went on to check and record operating parameters.all was well, and inspected furnace and gave me maintenance tips before he left. First rate service at a reasonable price. Super company!
