These guys are competent, honest, meticulous, patient, and courteous. A unique company where the owners (Greg & Mike) take part in doing the actual work, not just the contract & coordination. Their job is of commercial quality which is a rarity in a residential setting. All of the components they use are top notch, from the major ones such as pumps and pipes, down to the most minor things such as brackets and connectors.
Their designs are very thorough and geared towards maximum comfort for the homeowner. Being an engineer and a bit of a handyman myself I truly appreciate their work. They designed and installed a heating system for us, comprising a boiler, domestic hot water, radiators, radiant flooring, and all the connections. While their quote came substantially above the competitors' we chose them after carefully comparing their proposal and high-level design to others. It was the priciest project we've undertaken by far, yet we haven't regretted our decision to hire E&W in the 5+ years since it has been completed.

I had a wonderful experience with E & W Heating & Air Conditioning. I had an emergency on my hands because my heat stopped working when I was out of town & I came back to find a 40 degree condo (which had been that way for at least a few days). I called a few companies with not too much luck due to the short notice. Then I called Connie at E & W Heating & Air Conditioning and boy am I glad I did.
First of all, right off the bat, Connie is an amazing person. She is so helpful, kind, and giving. Right away due to the short notice, she was not sure if she would be able to get somebody out to help me, but she jumped right into my problem anyways and asked for some pictures so she could help me a bit even if she couldn't get anyone to my location today.
We spoke on the phone for about 15 minutes while she talked me through parts of my heating system and gave me advice. I thought it was amazing that someone would take the time to assist in whatever way possible even if they were not getting anything out of it. This was a gesture that really meant a lot to me. Connie pulled some strings and was able to get someone out to my location 30 minutes before their service day ended so that I would not have to pay extra fees because of the timing.
The technician who came to my location was very professional and quick (which saved me $ in the long run). Before Connie was certain that she could get someone out to me, she advised me to call around to other companies as well to ensure that I would get my heat back and running by the end of the night. E & W Heating & Air Conditioning gained a lifelong customer in me. I definitely recommend this company to anyone in the Madison area.

I called E&W this morning when I woke up to a cold house. It was 3 degrees out at the time so they were understandably VERY busy this day. They scheduled me a repair time, explained their rates and procedures and then walked me through some troubleshooting steps. These steps solved my problem. They even called back to check and make sure all was well. I will be using them in the future.
