Where to start. I contracted with this company about 8-10 years ago to replace my furnace and A/C unit. The workmen were nice and they did an excellent job. They had to cut some openings in drywall to replace the wire for the thermostat. He said they will have some one come out to repair it. He even wrote it on the forms. No one contacted me. I called and someone was supposed to come and repair it.
No response. I recently moved to Salem. The house needed a new furnace, water heater and A/C unit. I specified an HE gas furnace, an HE electric water heater(no room for gas exhaust pipes) and an HE A/C unit, along with duct cleaning. I had them do it because of the previous quality installation. This time was a bit different. They left screws and pieces of metal on the driveway.
I used a magnet and got it all. I didn't call them, just cleaned it up. We had a contract that included duct cleaning. Before they cleaned the ducts, to satisfy the contract, an employee contacted us and said we haven't paid for the equipment. She was told that once they cleaned the ducts, they would receive payment, thus complying with our agreement. $22K worth.
Well today was duct cleaning day. This Millennial girly-man comes out and said that would be $595. I got pissed because one hand doesn't know what the other is doing. I apologized, said that it wasn't his fault, but said that there is no communication between workers, that this was included in the agreement. He said he heard that from other customers.
He saw two handguns on my counter. I didn't touch them; they didn't point themselves at him. I didn't threaten him in any way. I never mentioned a gun. He was calm and didn't look concerned. He said he needed to go to his truck to check on our story of a contract. Cool. He's going to start cleaning. NO! Suddenly, he drives away.
This loser apparently called his office and told them he was afraid for his safety. That I had two guns. I'm a terrible meany with guns. WTH? What a loser. We called and, after waiting on hold, the woman told us the manager would call us. Yes, that's right, no call. He called me back, but took no responsibility. Actually inferred that I was the cause of this.
That I scared this little boy. I told him that owning a gun was legal. Just because this particular person doesn't like guns shouldn't enter into any discussion. I own this house and I can have any thing legally available. I was at Home Depot the other day and looked for the water heater they installed. I found it and saw the price of $595.
They charged me $2500 for the same thing. The heater had a energy rating in the high range of electricity use. This manager is probably why they are so screwed up. I will never use or recommend this company ever again. I should have read the reviews before contracting with them. I learned my lesson the hard way. Beware!

First, I never write Yelp reviews or any review, EXCEPT, in this one instance this service was so bad and wasted so much of my time and trust, that I am going to waste time out of my day to say how horrible this business is in the hope that I save at least someone some time and money. Also of note, I am a huge DIY guy and work a ton on my house. I'm also a physician and am totally fair and truly want people to get paid fairly and appropriately for their work.
I fully expected to pay a high labor charge for the repair, but not this high. My tankless water heater stopped working (no power), and I assumed it was the mother board. I'm busy and the wife and kids want hot water. I happen to contact Wolfer's early the next morning, who amazingly and unexpectedly said they could come that day between 9-12. Great!
So I turned around and stayed home from work after taking the kids to school to take care of it. 11:30 rolls around and I hasn't heard anything, so I call to make sure I understood it right and that I had gotten the days mixed up. They said they were still coming and yes that was my time slot. 12:30 comes, I call again and they say someone will call me., Someone finally calls to say they messed up.
The girl who called was very apologetic and nice, and said they could come at 2pm and they had been held up at the appointment before mine (totally fine, i get it). I was very patient and flexible and agreed, even though I had to pick up kids at 2:40 and had already taken the day off work and there was no communication. The guy shows up, spends 45 minutes (this is important) taking it apart, talking to Rinnai, and tells me the mother board is out. Ok, great, how much to fix it. $2000 was the quote! Now, I can buy an entire new replacement system for $1700, so I ask what the breakdown is. $300 or $350 for the part with rush delivery (ok that's fine) and $1700 for labor.
I said "isn't it just a simple replacement plug and play". He tells me that housing prices are expensive these days and basically that's reflected in the charge of the labor. He also tells me that since he's been here two hours already that would get rolled into the price of the repair. I corrected him saying he'd only been there 45 minutes.
After saying it was impossible to find the part number for the motherboard, I asked for the part number, he said he was a "nice guy" and gave it to me. It was actually very easy to look it up. I paid the $100 diagnostic/service charge. If I had been charged for the apparent 2 hours spent at my home it probably would have been $200. He then says on the way out that he "left some things disconnected, and I would easily be able to tell what they were".
When I went down and looked later that night (remember now I had to rush to get kids to activities), there were a couple (wires) disconnected, including the mother board not attached. I'm a little upset but seek to solve it. Next morning I call and leave a message for them to contact me because I'd like to know exactly what they left unattached.
No one returned my call. In the afternoon I call again. This time they take a message and the guy calls back and says "so I hear you're ready to set up the repair". "Um No", I say, but I'd like to know what you left that was not the way you found it when you came. He says he has no idea, they don't really plug stuff back in or put things back after diagnosing them because they assume you will be getting it repaired with them. Basically, not part of their job description. I'm more perturbed at this point.
Mind you I've been super polite this whole time. Now, I'm not sure why the labor charge was so high for a 15 min job. Maybe it is because I live in a slightly more affluent neighborhood, but that shouldn't matter and is extremely bias and opportunistic. Anyways, I order the part and overnight it, for slightly less than $300 I might add.
It would have taken me 15 minutes to swap it out. There were only 6 cables to switch, all different plugs sizes/types so you can't mess up if you tried if you're just swapping cables, assuming they were all plugged in the right places to begin with. There are a bunch of cables that aren't plugged in because their used to add to the system or add a wireless remote.etc).
Problem is, I had to spend 30 extra minutes figuring out what this guy had changed from how it is supposed to be hooked up. Works like gang busters, hit showers galore. Honestly, I expected to pay for the labor and whatnot to get it repaired, but $2000? For a $300 part and 15 minutes. All forms of communication were terrible and wasted a work day.
I would not trust this company at all. Trying to cheat on the time spent at my house wasn't appreciated as well. This is one of those companies that truly tries to take advantage of people, but this time they got caught and called out. They also never even mentioned that on their website they have deals like 10% off parts that I could have taken advantage of. Weak sauce.

I just bought a brand new furnace through Wolfer's and they came out and installed it. Mike, the service consultant, was super helpful and very nice. He answered all my questions when he was at my house and also when I called with further questions. The installers were also super nice. They even finished installing well before the time they said it would take to install.
I called after to purchase their maintenance/tune-up service. My apologies, I forget what they name it, but both people I spoke to the phone were super friendly and answered my questions. Everything is just easy with Wolfer's. : Thanks! Oh, I love my new furance. It's also quieter and more efficient than the one I had before!

I had a great experience with Wolfer's. They gave me a quick quote, worked around my schedule, and showed up on time. Levi and his team were all very knowledgeable and professional. They walked me though every step and gave me the pros and cons of each option. Then they got the job done quickly and cleanly. They gave me a walk through of the new system and answered all my questions. I would highly recommend them. Jeff

We have used this company for years. They installed our heat pump 24 years ago. They have earned our trust and we recommend them highly. They have always giving us sound recommendations and reasonable rates. Everyone that has been out has been very professional and personable. You can't go wrong with this company! Have called several times for Service. One was an emergency. Told dispatcher will call. Never have gotten a call back. They installed our A/C and gas furnace. Installations were good. Also was scheduled to clean our floor vents. Had to cancel original appointment due to sickness. Told they would call back and reschedule. That was aver a year ago. Very unfriendly and rude person answering the phone.
People at Roth heating and air are much friendlier. Woofers has gotten the last of my business and I do not recommend them to anyone. If they can not ever call back they must not need the business!

I scheduled annual maintenance for my furnace and gas fireplace. It was six weeks out, then when the technician arrived he told me that only the furnace was scheduled and I would need to call and schedule another appointment for the fireplace. He did not change the furnace filter or even mention it to me, was very short, and stated that my furnace is about 10 years older than it actually is and acted like it wasn't worth his time.
When I called to reschedule the fireplace I was told I would get a call from dispatch to reschedule. That took two days. I shared my concerns during both calls and was told that was not the service they strive to provide and a supervisor would follow up with me. I never heard back. I cancelled my fireplace appointment and will not work with this company again. Horrible customer service and no follow-through. Also very expensive compared to others.

Wolfers sent an A-TEAM to install the HAVC. They were very professional and skillful. Alex is an expert and very technical. One of these days he will walk on water. Eric installed the Compressor and helped with other Installation tasks (also did the crawl space, twice!). Greg did the electrical work very neatly and Emily did a great job too. They left my house cleaner than before they came in. Mike was the sales person who educated me and finally recommended the best system for my house. I was a pleasure working with you guys and gal. I thank all.

Wolfers installed a new heat pump to replace the existing AC unit. This included rebuilding the interior unit to accept the new interior coil. They redid the condensate drain but did not do a very pretty job. But it all works for now. I look forward to the transition and the cooling season to see how the heat pump works. I expect to see this unit working for the next 20 years, as Oregon gets warmer.

Our dealings with the entire purchase to install to inspection was so smooth we almost could not believe it. Wolfer's-representing Costco and Lennox-came in with absolutely all the information we might have wanted. Our sales representative, Matt, was smart and informative discussing what each level of furnace and A/C unit would bring us. We were informed that due to supply issues it might be more than 6 weeks before we could expect installation; everything was installed in one week!
The install team, led by Levi, arrived, went straight to work and finished the furnace work before end of day. We had great heat that night. The second half of the work happened the following day and, again, was smooth and no bother to us at all. Costco followed up with a couple status reports, and the city inspectors came at the end of the same installation week. Everything was reported to be at specification and passed all visual checks.

Thank you for the wonderful experience that we have had with Wolfer's. Your communication has been more than excellent and we have appreciated your patience with all of the questions that we have had and requests that we made for different kinds of quotes. The installers were absolutely fantastic. Very efficient at their job, knowledgeable, professional and just plain nice. This has been the absolute BEST experience that we have ever had with a contractor.

I spent $7,100 out of pocket on a new gas furnace installed through Wolfer's (through Costco). They did not follow through with getting the appropriate permits. When I attempted to have it inspected it failed in multiple ways. They did not clamp drain lines which caused leaking and rusting within the unit. They did not install the electrical to code.
I have attempted to contact them multiple times to seek help and they will not return my messages. I was hung up when I attempted to call. I hired another company to complete the work and they are horrified by their work and suggested I report to the board of contractors.

I had an appointment, scheduled for weeks in advance, for Wolfer's to come out and give me an estimate and then install central air. It ended up being the hottest weekend of the year, and they didn't show up. They didn't bother calling. Since the appointment was for 4:30 pm, by the time I called at 4:45, they put me on hold 15 minutes and then hung up.
I called back and got voicemail, and left a message. Never got a return call. Luckily, that same day, I saw a van for Correctly Done Heating and AC, called the number, and had amazing air conditioning in two weeks! I would never recommend Wolfer's. Give Phil at Correctly Done a call instead.

I received an in-home estimate for water softener purchase and installation from inquiring at my local Costco. I did not op to use Wolfer's, this review is just based on the in-home consultation. The salesperson was knowledgeable and friendly, and brought brochures about the single softener available through Costco. He also arrived right on-schedule.
He was able to answer all of my questions. I didn't opt for Wolfer's to do my installation because their rates were astronomically high compared with all others. I'm not referring only to the severely overpriced softener unit, but for their permit costs (4x higher than the highest of the remaining bids), materials costs, and labor costs.

Overall, pricing was competitive and they stood behind their original estimate after an issue with the power was discovered. They were able to respond quickly and got it installed within a very short time frame. The actual installation looks good. It looks like they stacked a 24.75" evaporator coil over a 17" furnace. They have assured me that is standard, but I am concerned that this is really a standard practice as I do not see how the airflow will work as a good portion of the coil will be out of the airflow.
On the downside, the finishing and clean up work left much to be desired. The technician attempted to close the hole in the ceiling drywall with foam. I was able to stop him in time but that is how they wanted to close the hole pictured below. Unfortunately, they used caulk to close the hole in the wall before I could stop them so I will have to go back and repair that as well.
The work area was not clean up - there were at least a half dozen sheet metal screws on the ground, dried foam, and miscellaneous debris left under the work area as noted in the pictures below. The driveway also had another half dozen sheet metal screws and other sharp objects and trash. This would have only taken them another 5-10 minutes of effort to clean up and would have left a much more professional impression.

0 stars for the system where the phone receptionist leaves a message for dispatch. There's no guarantee *when* dispatch will actually call you back (receptionist can't even guarantee a return call within 48 hours -- that's ridiculous), nor what technicians' availability will be like when they finally call back. I got the diagnostic within two hours, but don't be fooled!
I had to call multiple times a day to even get a call back *4 days later* for the actual work. And if you miss that call be 15 min, be prepared to wait another day. In total, it took over a week to fix our AC, when it was 105F outside -- after calling multiple times for dispatch to call back. 5 stars for the actual work that the technician did. Francisco was honest, and was able to efficiently fix the AC.
It was $795 to replace the motor, fan, capacitor, and a shorted wire, iirc. He didn't think we needed a fan replacement during the initial diagnostic, but he came out free of charge to do that for us too. And he even diagnosed some other issues with our central air. I wish I had his direct phone number! Overall, I do not recommend this company. Don't waste your time playing phone tag with reception and dispatch for a week or more. Just go with another company who can make an appointment with you right away, without stringing you along.

I called to have the hot water mixer valve replaced on our Kohler shower faucet. I was told the parts were obsolete and unavailable. They gave me a quote of $2000 to replace the faucet by going through the wall in the adjacent bedroom. The quote did not include patching the drywall. I contacted Koehler they sent all the replacement parts free of charge. when I tried to contact Wolfer to discuss the issue with them no one would call me back.

We went through CostCo and replaced our heating and AC through Wolfers a couple years ago. Now we get to experience an entire summer without AC. Although our new system is still under warranty, we are looking at nearly 2k in repair costs for a system that went out in May and with August only a week away, we still have no date for a resolution in sight. Wolfers gives a very premium image, but the reality has been they are difficult to contact, poor internal communication, and far from affordable.

I can't recommend this company. NO service after the sale. Don't be fooled in by a good deal and happy faces on installation. Couldn't get anyone to schedule an appointment for FIVE days. The "dispatcher" that handled it was "unavailable". I called during business hours and got the answering service! Got a person twice but they had to "forward the information to the dispatcher". The "dispatcher" finally called after five days-I already had a service call scheduled that day with another company.

Now that I've been working from home for over a year (thanks covid) I decided this year I am getting central air and don't wanna work all day in a hot room. Went through Costco and they connected us to this place. The guy came out to provide an estimate and OMG.just shy of $15k! I have a small newer home.no duct work needed. I got bids from three other companies and none of them even came close to wolfers estimate.for the same equipment! How?!?!
The guy that came out was pointing out I don't have a top of the line furnace and that I should consider replacing it! It's not even 10 years old, been serviced yearly and has had no issues are you kidding me? He also made it sound like such a massive undertaking to put central air in and just didn't know about adding a second thermostat in for the second zone.are you kidding me?
Every other place was like no problem, do it all the time. Can't believe Costco does business with this place. If you're in the market for central air do yourself a favor and get a couple bids from multiple places.

Furnace stopped working yesterday so I called them immediately the next morning to schedule. I was told that dispatching would be calling us shortly. We made a follow up call and was told we were on the dispatching board and someone would be in touch shortly. I assumed the dispatching board means someone is coming, guess again. I just received a phone call from dispatching saying they couldn't make it today and the earliest they could is Wednesday and would I like to schedule, 6 days from today.
I mean, you can't tell me your earliest appointment is 6 days out when I call the first time so I can make other arrangements before 330PM. If this is the way they run scheduling there is a major problem with their organization. Wait 7-8 hours for a return call telling you they can't come out for 6 days. What a joke. Wolfers installed my system, Heating and AC.
If I knew this was the service I would receive after installation I would have had one of the cheaper guys do it. I banked on their reviews and reputation but obviously I was wrong.
