3/3/21 had Middleton service fireplace that was not working. Said had to order kit to repair as unit have company out of business. Went with recommendation and had installed 7/20/21. Did not use fireplace until Oct/ Nov when nights cooled- notice odor from fireplace/ remote not work and fogged glass. Called for service and came out 12/21. Said part not installed properly just fell off when touched and had gas leak!
What left us with gas leak? Ordered new parts. Had to call numerous times to check on new parts with no return calls. Finally 2/22 came out with new parts but 8 too short said had to order new parts. Again after numerous calls and even with owner/ Dale who said he had no knowledge of this situation even though he ordered the parts according to tech.
As you can imagine they do not keep you informed of anything so finally got to speak with someone who admitted company that made parts no longer making parts/kits. Would try to make a part for us. Totally unacceptable as invoice given at time of initial service said warranty 1 yr on all parts. Lost all confidence in them months ago but were willing to let them rectify situation. Asked them to get new kit or pull this one and give us money back- never heard back. Consulted new company- appears tech installed incorrectly and attempted to retrieve original part and missing manual not left at time of install. Middleton employees said they did not have either. Forced to involve BBB so others don't have to deal with this nightmare of not having our fireplace operational for 2 consecutive winters.
Pretty clear from top down they are not a reputable company and do not honor any warranty they provide. They just want your money and want you to disappear. Be wise get a number of opinions and quotes before you go down any road with Middleton.

We built our house in 2010, 5,000 ft. They installed two furnaces two heat pumps, gas lines all the ductwork and fireplace inserts. The fireplace insert was dysfunctional and had to be repaired at my expense and eventually replaced. One of the Lennox LX1 heat pumps died after nine years. We've had multiple problems with the furnaces. Their decisions for how they rigged the drainage pipes was severely flawed.
I eventually parted ways with them for maintenance because I thought the service was so poor and their maintenance of the products they installed at a premium price consistently failed. The Lennox LX1 heat pump that failed after 9 years has had three separate compressors in the last two years costing me over $4,000. Lennox has not honored their warranty.
Independent evaluators have stated that the heat pumps don't match the furnaces that were installed and the line set was faulty in its design which may lead to the repeated failure. I now have to replace the entire unit line set and coil. To have another company do this it will cost me $15,000 just over 10 years after having paid for all this with Lennox. Beware of this company.

As a local remodel designer, I love working with Middleton. They are professional and timely and we have always had good experiences with them when in our clients' homes. With remodeling, we sometimes hit bumps in the road, and Middleton has always been quick to help when we need a range hood shroud modified or a heating duct moved. I highly recommend them whenever someone asks me who should install their fireplace or other heating and sheet metal needs.

After hiring them to put in a simple duct to a dryer, it was installed horribly by a obvious new employee.(no a huge deal) I called them to have them come fix it, A supervisor came out to inspect and agreed it was bad work. They fixed it the way it should of been and I was happy. THEN I GET A BILL! I called and spoke with the manager of the place and he apologized and said he would take care of it. ($85 bill) Then I kept getting bills.
So I called again and spoke with manager and told him I would pay it of he thinks I should pay, but he agreed he dropped the ball & would take care of the bill. So now I have been turned into collections lolololol So i called and asked to speak with the owner who immediately blew me off back to the manager. lololol. long story short because of this un professionalism level this company operates at when i got bids for my complete new HVAC system at my primary residents this year I did not call them!
So their $85 cost them a $20k+ hvac system lololol good one guys over a dryer vent! oh yea My parents who have used you bought a heat pump from my new guy also. lololol Ill pay your now $150 collection when I get around to it. I see they responded to my review below, again super unorganized, as they turned me into collections and don't even know it.

Above and beyond service! I forgot to write this review when they did the job, better late than never. but they installed a new AC unit and I noticed the ducting was leaking a little, called them, they had a guy Jeff out the next day that went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect! I couldn't have better things to say! The Ac unit works fantastic, they even made sure the old ducting wasn't leaking, sealed everything that wasn't even something they needed to fix. Thank you Jeff, you did a great job! I highly recommend these guys!

UPDATE Call Middleton to service the fireplace insert. They arrived on time with no crazy 4 hrs to be blocked off. The technician was Dee who was fast, courteous and professional. Middleton would be well served to have more Techs just as Dee. Thank you. UPDATE 12/23 Had to have them back to replace a transformer, Collin was knowlegable, professional and quick. I am happy will the over all service, I hope I have no more issue, if I do I will call Middleton.

I stopped by the shop to purchase a simple coupler that wasn't off the shelf at the big box store. The friendly guy at the front desk answered a few venting questions I had and directed me to the fabrication shop in back. The two guys in the shop made me feel welcome and were easy to chat with. They quickly modified an existing coupler to work for my needs, he even gave me a few screws to button everything up. The price was VERY reasonable, the service was exceptional. When I left, it truly felt like an old school small town friendly experience. Good job guys

In early 2008, I had the misfortune of hiring Middleton to replace a heat pump for a house that was (at the time) a rental. I have a written proposal from them that clearly states the pump has a 10 year warranty. However, when the unit broke down in 2014, Middleton refused to honor the warranty, saying that I had not sent in paperwork to the manufacturer. First, I was never told that I needed to send in paperwork; and second, Middleton never provided me any paperwork.
They might have left something with the renter, which would have reflected incredibly poor judgment on their part. Anyway, that repair cost me $946 (done by another company). Now, in April 2016, the compressor on the unit has stopped working and the entire heat pump will need to be replaced. I contacted Middleton again, and again they refused to honor the written warranty that they gave me in their proposal. This company is not standing behind what their proposal clearly states, and their misleading proposal is costing me thousands of dollars.
