I have A/C maintenance contract with them for couple of rental houses. After having problem with A/C on two houses recently, I hired different companies to repair them. On both houses the problem was very dirty units. Paying them around $250 yearly for two units at each house you should expect a better job from B&K! I can't trust them anymore and i will not renew my maintenance contracts with them!

After dealing with numerous different HVAC repair companies I was impressed with the responsiveness and information provided by Bill. They came out and replaced my duct system in half the time another company told me it would take. The house has been much cooler than before and Bill followed up after to make sure my issues had improved.

Critical: Professionalism, Quality, Responsiveness This company installed our units in the wrong place and installed our downstairs thermostat in the incorrect place, which we had to pay to have moved. They do not return phone calls and overall are rude. I would recommend another company for any installs or work in general. Services: Install thermostat, Install AC, Heating system installation, HVAC duct & vent installation

B & K did a great job for me taking care of an AC repair with a Unit on the roof of a building downtown. I specifically want to Thank Ken for all his help. Ken did a great job of communicating when he would arrive and then also in explaining the problem and solution. The work was completed in a very timely manner and at a reasonable cost.

Very professional outfit from my first call to the receptionist to the installation. My interactions with Bill were great when discussing my repair needs. The staff that did the install of units as well those who did the connections were pleasant and professional. Their prices are very reasonable and I feel they are a honest company and never felt like they were up selling me just presenting options. They be the first on my list to call if I ever need AC work again!

Control board on older furnace failed during coldest week this winter, BK responded quickly and dispatched technician same day. Technician came earlier than promised, and after diagnosing the problem, was able to acquire and install the new control board promptly. Very fair pricing and honest. Thank you for being a great local business.

AC failed, responded quickly, fixed the issue, but cautioned that needed replacing rather than keep paying for service calls. Checked the AC lifespan average, correct diagnosis. Will be replacing the unit. B&K have been servicing out HVAC units for the 7 years we have been here. Always neat, professional, and currently wear masks and social distance when serving customers.

My recent experience dealing with B & K Services was nothing but a complete disappointment, not to mention wasted time and additional money out-of-pocket. In late 2017 I contacted B & K Services for a quotation for a new heat pump system at my property. What I believed would be a simple and worry free installation turned into a complete disaster. During the first cold spell in December the building would not adequately heat.
I immediately contacted the sales representative from B & K Services. Then I learned the Sales Representative was no longer with the company. However, the owner of the company agreed to meet at the property to research the problem. As it turns out, the sales representative completely underestimated the capacity needed for the heating and cooling needs of the building.
Not only was the incorrect tonnage unit installed, but inadequate duct quantity, location and the improper vent styles were used in the ceiling. The owner of the company promised to rectify the situation and we eventually reached a compromise to install an additional 2-ton unit (which costed us out-of-pocket an additional $3000.00.) We agreed to move forward and have the new unit installed as well as a series of ductwork and vent corrections.
After the second installation we believed everything was now complete and in satisfactory, dependable working order. That was until we opened our Duke Power bill. A typical monthly bill historically was on average $150.00/month. The bill skyrocketed to $700.00/month! My first reaction was to call Duke Power and see if a mistake was made. Duke Power researched and the power bills were accurate.
In actuality, due to mistakes by B & K Services, wiring problems were discovered that triggered only the emergency heat strips to run while the outdoor compressor would not run. Basically what was supposed to be a brand new, worry free system, due to a series of basic installation mistakes, now was causing my power meter to spin out of control. The B & K technician was on-site and explained to me the identified problem, the thermostat was rewired, the system was presented as now running (the outdoor units were coming on normally).
I then closely monitored the next power bills over two months and the power consumption dropped back down to the expected usage. When presented with the power bills, the owner of B & K refused to accept responsibility. I actually had to take the owner to Summary Court to recover 50% of the power bills during the time the units were running with incorrect wiring.
At the time of the settlement, the units appeared to be in working order. That is until winter heating season approached and the new 4-ton unit stopped running. Because of the breakdown in trust, I was now worried "what else could be wrong that I don't know about" and I chose to hire a 3rd party HVAC company to conduct a full assessment of the installation and equipment.
We started by reviewing the 4-ton unit and the 3rd party found the compressor overcharged above the factory specs and wiring mistakes in the attic. The issues were corrected and we haven't had a problem with the 4-ton unit since. Then in January and February 2019, the 2-ton compressor froze up and stopped functioning. The unit was installed directly under the roof drip line.
Later I discovered that a best practice well known in the industry is to make certain the exterior unit is located enough distance away from the roof drip line. Rainwater landing directly on the compressor from the roof can typically cause the unit to freeze up in the winter. I now have to pay out of pocket to install a rain gutter above the unit.
At the end of the day, B & K Services was not able to trouble shoot and have the attention to detail to solve the final installation problems. In addition I contacted the owner of B & K on four occasions outlining all the findings of the assessment and the additional costs I had to incur to correct his work. I never received a response via text message or emails.
In order to have personal peace of mind, I had to hire a 3rd Party HVAC professional to conduct the final assessment and corrections at a cost of nearly $1000.00 out of pocket. We have since retained the new company for a service contract and not had any further problems to date.
