We recently had some major sewer issues. We have an older house with cast iron and terracotta piping outside. After multiple clogging issues we contacted our insurance, and they sent a company to do a video inspection of the piping, and provide an estimate for repair. It was clear that an outside trap had broken, and the inside cast iron piping had corroded.

We received an estimate which caught us by surprise as to the large cost fix. The company was going to replace the outside trap and tear up the basement flooring to replace the piping. We were decided to get a second estimate and we are glad we did. We reached out to J&A Plumbing, and they reviewed the issues and gave us a quote for the same repairs at a 20% lesser rate.

Their sales rep was very thorough and suggested it may be better to have some of the piping replaced and lined at the same price of the prior plumbing company. It made sense to do it right. Their service personnel were very good and comprehensive in repairing the sewer line. When they ran into an unexpected problem with the pitch of the outside piping, they explained the additional work they had to do to make it right (no additional cost).

We were impressed with the detail and concern in making sure our sewer lines were repaired correctly so we would never have any problems again. Everyone from the sales representative to all the service personnel were professional and my definition of a professional is: Doing what is supposed to be done but doing better than has to be done. J&A Plumbing is professional, and we would never hesitate to recommend them for any plumbing issues. Thank You J & A Plumbing.

I had to have J&A come out to check out my water heater. Mike and Brock gave me the run down that my water tank was refurbished and that it would no longer work so the best solution was to get a new one. They both recommended the top water heater and returned the next day super early to install it! they were so kind, on time, and worked quickly to get it installed so I had hot water right away. The best plumbing team out there and I will always call them when I'm in need!

I had contracted with J & A Service Experts to look at the electrical system in a house in Upper St. Clair. The house was empty but the realtor wanted that because a potential buyer said it was put in "backwards". J & A indicated that they would meet with me on Friday 6//3. The scheduler called me today, Thursday, 6/2, and said they had an opening this afternoon and could I be there between 2:30 and 3:00.

I said absolutely and was happy to do them a favor. And I was there at 2:20 - but I was weeding and didn't see the phone call. So they cancelled me. There was never a statement made that if I didn't answer the phone, they wouldn't come. When I got back to my own home (which is an hour away), I called and asked what happened. It was explained to me and I was enormously irritated and when the scheduler asked if the service could could happen as planned, I said, "I'll have to get back to you" and hung up.

I then called back to see if this could happen on Monday and I was routed to the manager. He said the scheduler told him I hung up on her - and I said, "I did - right after I said I'll get back to you". There was a hemming and hawing - gosh, miscommunication (which I said wasn't true) - and gave me a date 2 weeks away. I said no thanks and immediately started this review.

No curse words were exchanged, no disparaging comments about the scheduler were made and no freaking out - but this is the customer service I received. I do not recommend that anyone else contract service with them. THIS PART comes after the reply from J & A Blaming the customer is never a good practice. I have run my own business for 10 years (and worked in the field for an additional 15 years) and no one has any confusion about how this proceeds and what is expected.

I was never TOLD I had to answer a call - because I was there at the appointed time. I was told the technician would call when they were 1/2 hour away - but I wasn't worried because they were coming. So you can say you always tell customers they have to answer the phone on site - but I was never told. Not by your scheduler - not one time. So admit you made a mistake and take ownership of it.

Our company has used J&A for several projects when we need electrical work done. Nan, in their scheduling department, is always on top of things, making sure we get someone out to the project as soon as possible. Donovan is usually our electrician, and not only is he a great electrician and very professional, he is so positive and upbeat that it's contagious!

It's always a pleasure to talk to him. Nick went out on our last call as Donovan was unavailable, and Nick is also very professional, kind, and a great electrician. Their services are very reasonably priced. I always feel confident sending J&A to do a job. I highly recommend.

I've used J&A South Park plumbing the past two times in one week due to unforeseen plumbing issues at my house. Brittany who answers the calls and makes the appointments is very helpful and on point making sure to get a plumber there as soon as possible. Billy the plumber is quick and efficient and even calls when he is on the way so I know when to expect his arrival. Fantastic service, I will definitely use J&A Plumbing again and certainly recommend them to anyone.

We needed to replace our water heater again, though it did last for 15 years, it had rusted early on and the gas line was installed improperly, having been replaced by a home warranty company shortly after we moved into our home. Nathan went above and beyond in making sure the job was done efficiently and safely. he has an incredible work ethic, very informative and helpful in helping us make the right choices for our home, not a sales pitch. It is rare to find someone who takes such pride in the work they do.

We had a great experience with J&A. They installed our heating/AC and were fantastic. They were professional, on time and very knowledgeable about the whole process. They explained everything they were doing and communicated with us the whole way. Alen and Nick were our techs and were wonderful. They did a great job and left the place cleaner than when they started. We will definitely be using J&A for future projects!

We had a very old, very inefficient furnace and AC, before it went out we decided to make the upgrade. I had a quote within a week of my initial inquiry call, and could have had a new system within days if necessary (great to know for emergency situations). The men that worked on the project were meticulous and communicated well with us. They were also very easy going and kind with my children, puppy and the fact that there was other work going on at our house. J&A was highly recommended by neighbors and now we will also be recommending them in the future.

I've been using J&A for many years. One of the things I like about them is their honesty. We thought our toilets were clogged as the water pressure was low and didn't flush correctly. I called J&A, Billy & John came that same day. They checked all the lines/toilets, didn't find any problems. I was expecting a bill for at least the service call, but was told they were running a special, no charge for today's call.

I appreciated their time, cleanliness in my house, and honesty. I also like that they can take care of other problems in the house, not just plumbing. I highly recommend them!

We purchased an old house (about 100 years old), the pump of hot water boiler did not work, so several radiators and baseboards in the house were cold. We called the American Home Shield for home warranty work. Almost immediately after we called AHS, J&A South Part Heating, Cooling & Electric called us and scheduled an appointment for us. The technician, Dan, and his assistant J.J. came out, listened to us, found the problems, explained to us in layman's language what they were going to do in order to fix the problems.

After they fixed the problems, they checked each and every radiator and the baseboards in different rooms of the house they even spent time explaining to the renters how to set and use the thermostat. The house is warm and cozy after they did the work! After that work, we called them for other services -- all of their workers were on time, professional and have good skills to help us to keep our house safe, comfortable and worry free!

Could not have been happier with the service we received from Billy Cleaver for a low pressure shower that was practically unusable for quite some time. Others plumbers have looked at and had suggestions that temporarily helped but never fixed the problem. He was polite, helpful and efficient. I will definitely ask for Billy by name when calling for plumbing service!

I DO NOT RECOMMEND this company. The company's staff (schedulers) are rude and hung up the call while talking. They did the mistake of telling wrong information but try to put the blame on me. I also did not let me speak to the company's owner/manager and did not want to tell his name as well. I am not sure about the service but the scheduling staff do not have any professionalism.

I had to change the work order to a different company. Yes. The manager did contact me. I told him to review the recording of the call (the scheduler who gave me wrong information) and he said he will do it. I do not want to work with the company who lacks professionalism. I am telling you for your own good to review the call and correct the mistake. It is up to you if you want to do that.

We hired J&A for an A/C plus duct work installation in our 95 year old house. It came out great. They installed the unit in our attic with minimal aesthetic changes to the inside and outside of the house. They were thorough and helped us to understand what was happening every step of the way. Very clean throughout the project too. They also helped us with some additional electrical work as well. We'll continue to use them for servicing our heating/cooling/electrical. We would very much recommend them.

I recently had a new AC unit installed. I previously had them install a new furnace. The entire AC unit install experience was great and top notch. John did a fantastic job explaining the options available. Alen and Mike did a great job installing the new unit. After the install was complete they took their time to clean their work area and provide a comprehensive summary of all the work completed. I would recommend J&A South Park to anyone looking to have a furnace or AC unit installed.

Few home repair situations are as positive as our experience with Mike from J&A. We scheduled a seasonal tune up for our boiler, which resulted in another service call where we were assigned J&A through our home warranty. The process uncovered a ton of issues, none of which were disclosed when we purchased or noticed by the person who did the inspection.

A pipe leaked through the ceiling into the kitchen, multiple important components were missing including a backflow valve that is mandatory to have for health and safety, and it was a bit of a nightmare. Mike went above and beyond in his work and is exceptionally knowledgeable in boiler systems. He came to our home three different times to diagnose the issues and fix EVERYTHING.

It was tedious work as the system had to be drained and refilled multiple times in the process. Throughout it all, Mike was patient, professional, respectful, and kind. His calm demeanor was comforting as we were bombarded with everything going wrong. He took time to answer all of our questions and give us thorough explanations of everything that was happening.

He also cared enough to make it work so that the warranty would cover the entire cost, and we wouldn't have to pay out-of-pocket. I really can't recommend or thank him enough for all that he did!

My home warranty company put me in touch with this company to fix a possible furnace issue. Jordan was my technician. He was very kind and took the time to explain everything to me. The issue didn't end up being with my furnace but he suggested what my next steps should be. They were able to come out within a day of being contacted. I would definitely use this company again!

Plumber for Life! Best plumbers ever! Billy Cleaver and John Briggs were so helpful, kind (and lets not forget hardworking!) The knowledge they brought to the job site was absolutely incredible. Any questions I had, they took the time to answer. They are so invested in helping the customer--it almost leaves me at a loss for words. You are a name, not a number and it means a lot. To sum it up, they absolutely put the EXTRA in the ORDINARY. They serve as role models to the customer service world! Thank you.

Technician Nate Tague was absolutely FANTASTIC! Not only did he fix my immediate problem, but addressed other issues that would have caused my home not to pass an inspection when I put it on the market to sell. His awareness of other issues & ability to explain what was needed and why were excellent. Customer focused & did beautiful work! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
