As an HVAC installer myself I had no idea what to expect. I wasn't here when it was installed but they did a very good job. Leveled the pad with rocks, the disconnect box wasn't the best but I'm nit picking. The lineset was hung with plastic hanging strap so the copper won't discolor. The filter dryer was inside. No UV wrap but that's a MD thing I can do myself. Strangely the didn't insulat the supply plenum, so it condensates. All in all of recommend them to anyone. The things I see won't really matter to the masses. Charge was perfect too.

Michael was very courteous, knowledgeable and efficient as he worked on our system. He was very thorough when explaining what he had done with our unit. Wow, I'm impressed! Mike B was the man! This guy knew his stuff and took lots of time to explain quite a few things to me about my HVAC system and generator. First day in my brand new house and A/C compressor would not turn on. Michael B. first walked me through all the elements to check as a homeowner to troubleshoot things. Finding no obvious answer he opened the control panel and found a loose wire from the install. He reconnected it and gave me a rundown of all the features of my system and a list of general maintenance I can do to extend the life of the system. The whole time he was polite, professional, efficient, and friendly. My new home is now cool and comfortable. Thanks!

Mike was my technician. He was on time professional and took care of two systems that needed an evaluation and a damper that will eventually need a replacement. When a situation arose that needed the attention of the office it was taken care of quickly and to my satisfaction. I greatly appreciate his time and effort and look forward to working with him again when we have our damper replaced.

On a regular heating maintenance we were advised of a defective heat exchanger. System was 10 yrs old, so we elected to replace the heater & Ac to be more energy efficient with a longer lifespan. With pandemic delays for the unit ordered, R&D was able to secure an excellent brand to install immediately due to heating insufficiencies in our old unit. Ann & George went above and beyond to obtain the new unit.

We were impressed by Steve & Dillon to install the heater and A/C units, efficiently, professionally & knowledgeably. They actually seemed to enjoy their work which made the experience satisfying. New blower motor ordered and Mike returned to install new blower motor. They deserve no stars their customer service was absolutely terrible. Called and scheduled appointment window was in the am service guy showed up at 3. I told him we got someone else due to their lack of customer service he said my appointment was at 130 when it never was and he still showed up at 3. Terrible wouldn't recommend

They deserve zero stars. Asked for a quote for new heating system (probably a $8-10K job) and the sales rep, Ed Kelly came out, has now been over 3 weeks and never provided a quote. Called 4x and even spoke with the Owner, Chris, no quote. Plenty of excuses, but never provided the information. I guess this is an indication of the poor Customer Service and lack of follow up they provide. I'm not waiting any longer and gave the job to another provider. My guess is most of the reviews are fake. R&D's loss, my gain, less aggravation

The technician came to my house, walked to my air conditioner unit outside and began poking around B4 even ringing the doorbell. I walked outside and introduced myself and she explained that she "wanted to get started". I found this disconcerting and stayed alongside her for the 27 minutes she was there. She was nice and informative and I liked her but I found this highly unusual.

The BILL: oh my gosh. R and D charges 99.00 to come to your house and THEN they charge in 15 minute increments for labor. a rate of over 50.00 per every 15 minutes! I was aware that there would be an initial charge of 99.00 but was told that the 99.00 would be applied towards material costs. She was there for 27 minutes and found that a field mouse had chewed through a tiny wire.

She cleaned out the hay from the mouse, and replaced the tiny wire. The bill: 204.00. I have called and politely explained that a rate of over 200.00 per hour PLUS a 99.00 charge to do what was done, is, in my opinion, highway robbery. They do not agree. I will NEVER use this company again, and will be sure to advise against it when asked.

I wanted to update my review of R&D after another stellar experience with them today. Our geriatric heater basically stopped working last night and started emitting this burning smell. We called R&D first thing this morning and they came out to look at it today. Jeannie diagnosed and fixed the issue and said we should probably start looking into replacing our heater before next winter.

We figured this would be the case. We were happy Jeannie wasn't pushy about replacing it today which is typical of repair companies. While Jeannie was here we asked her to take a look at our water heater which was only heating enough water for a 5 minute shower. Jeannie said the heating element just needed to be replaced. She didn't have a spare heating element with the correct wattage on her truck but she drove around for about 2 hours to find it to be able to finish the job today.

We really appreciated that. She didn't charge us for a second service charge for the water heater which was kind of her. She also was really nice to answer all of my husband's questions. He's an engineer and always wants to know how everything works. In the end the total cost ended up being less than we thought it would be which was a big bonus. Fantastic customer service! We're very happy to have found R&D!

Ron's company, R & D, was the second of three companies who came to the house to give us an estimate for taking out our oil-burning furnace and putting in a new gas heater. After he inspected the old furnace and measured our radiators, he sat at our dining room table, talking with us. He told us the story of his neighbor, who had hired the cheapest heating-company, thinking he was clever, but that company installed the furnace the wrong way.

So you don't always save money by choosing the cheapest quote, he said. In the end, though R & D's quote was the highest ($13,000) they had the best reviews and they seemed eager to do the job well. So they did the installation and we paid their price. From the beginning it was a disaster. The radiators banged day and night. We asked them to come out to stop the racket.

They came three times and "flushed the system". Then they stopped answering when we called. The basement room where the furnace is located is 96 degrees and the furnace runs constantly. We have called our long-time, trusted plumber to look at the furnace and he tells us that the pipes were put in wrong. Our air-conditioning guys agree. We are filing a law suit this week. Do not use R & D!

Great customer service from beginning to end. We recently moved into our new home and had a big Generac generator that needed maintenance. The service technician, Jeannie, is a certified Generac technician, which gave us comfort that the unit would be maintained properly. Jeannie was wonderful in answering all the various questions I had for her. She was very thorough and professional. Thank you!

We have been using R&D since we moved into Greenville DE in 2011. They have kept our 20+ year old boiler working and have replaced our 25+ year old AC unit in 2015. They have an outstanding staff, very professional and friendly. We would highly recommend them to anyone.

I had a heat pump installed by Universal, what a disaster. Insult to injury, I had Oxford Heating try to remedy the problem. Being that they are not a Goodman dealer was the issue. I looked up Goodman dealers and R&D was listed. My gosh they went Way out of their way to help me. They did a fantastic job remedying the issue and have been my maintenence folks ever since, that was 2014. These are very professional, reliable and helpful folks. The office folks are exceptional as are at least 4 or 5 of their field folks. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

I've used R&D for about 12 years now, they have replaced 2 furnaces in my home and performed all my services. They were the best price for the furnaces and were able to diagnose the issues with the builder install of the original furnace. They told me what needed to be fixed and gave me the options so I could choose, very transparent. The service techs are always on time and there for the unexpected problem. I would recommend them.
