Brad and Brett Miller have been co-owners for many years and before that, they worked with their father to serve the community's needs.

My wife & I recently moved into the Lafayette area about 3 weeks ago. I am a disabled veteran & the house we moved into is still under modifications for my wife & I to live safely. There are 2 restrooms, 1 of which is being remodeled to be able to accommodate my wheel chair. So, for the time being, we have 1 bathroom that has a backed up shower. I called to set up an appointment with Schomers on Monday (5-16-22) for today (5-20-22).
The technician called when he was about 10 minutes out. I advised him that as of last night my wife & I tested positive for Covid & asked that he wear a mask. He told us that he does have a mask & would mak sure to wear it. A half hour later, no call, no show. I tried calling the technician back, he would not answer so I called Schomers office. A man there informed me that his boss Brett Miller told him not to go to the job.
No calls were made to us to inform us of this & then we were hung up on. I called back & spoke to the secretary, she said that is their covid policy to not come out. Advised it would have been nice to receive a courtesy call. She then started arguing & making excuses. If this is how they treat potential customers, I will not give our support ot funds to them. Very unprofessional.

My family has used Schomers in the past, and we have been highly satisfied with their work. So, when we needed a bathroom remodel we didn't look anyplace else. We called Schomers in mid February of 2021. They were supposed to give an estimate February 16th, but we had the huge snowstorm so I told them to come back the following Tuesday, no problem. Rodney came on that day, February 23rd and looked at our bathroom.
We waited a week for the estimate before we finally called them. After a few more days we were emailed an estimate and I immediately okayed it. We waited another week for them to call and give us a start date. I called and was sent another copy of the same estimate which I okayed a second time. It's now March 17th, and I have yet to hear from Rodney with a start date.
I am sorry. I feel like I am begging these people to take my money. I called and canceled the work this morning. We have been trying to get this started since the mid February and it's now the middle of March. I know everyone is busy because of the Pandemic, so maybe I should have been more patient. I don't know.

Excellent experience with Schomer's! I have used their plumbing services several times at my house in Lafayette over the years and most recently at my mom's house. They have amazing employees who are honest and get the job done. They have been quick to respond and the pricing is fair. I totally recommend Schomer's!

Central air conditioning quit working on Memorial Day. Broke out the fans, and called Schomers the next morning. They were swamped due to the heat over the weekend, but managed to get a technician to my house before noon. Mike quickly diagnosed the problem, and had the system up and running again in no time. Very professional and courteous. Thanks guys for a great job!

I have had Schomers do my plumbing, heating and cooling repair for nearly 20 years. I have found the work to be done properly and at a reasonable price. The service workers have always conducted themselves in a very professional manner. The receptionists have always been friendly and helpful. Once I had an issue with how water was being directed out of my basement from a newly installed sink and they sent a more experienced plumber who identified a different way of directing the flow.
I don't believe they charged me more, or if so it was a nominal amount. I always appreciate how the technicians explain what they have done and educate me what I will need to do in the future. I recommend this company to everyone. I'm shocked to see these negative reviews. I'm a difficult person to please and I give this company very high scores. Keep up the great work!

Our kitchen sink with a disposal wouldn't drain. Standing water was left in the sink if we let the water run more than 20 seconds. So we called Schomers who came and cleaned out the drain and pipe and told us we were good to go. A short time later the problem returned. During a second service call (we were charged again) we were told the problem was our dish-washing machine.
We replaced the machine (approximately $600) and the problem returned again a short time later. They came out again and charged us a service fee again and it seemed to fix the problem for a few months. We hardly put any food in our disposal because we didn't want the problem to return. Now the problem has returned again. When I explained to the receptionist today I didn't expect to have to pay for another service call she told me she couldn't guarantee that; it would depend on what the technician found.
I said this is the fourth time I've had to call about the same problem, I replaced a perfectly good dish-washer and you can't tell me I'm not going to be charged. She said yes. I told her if that was the case then I was going to use a different company and let everyone know about their disappointing service. She said that's fine and then hung up on me. I definitely will not use Schomers again, and I encourage you to do the same.
