Called them after 6 pm to look at our air conditioner was very hot out. Guy on the phone had a attitude. Then the guy who came out had a attitude complained the whole time. Said your not getting this after hour service in the future even though we paid a lot for it. Will find a new heating and air company for the future.

I had two really nice Mitsubishi ac/heating units put into my attic (which was not cheap) prior to fully finishing the space. It took some time to complete the entire project. Upon completion we turned on our new ac units which cooled the space nicely. HOWEVER, the tech who installed the units did not pull a tab which allows the water that gets collected to drain out of the house.

The result was that the ceiling in my dining room started dripping water and the we had to fix the problem ourselves. When I called these people they completely awful to deal with. There was no sign of customer service and I was told they would sent another tech out. He came out and confirmed what we already knew had happened. I'm writing this review because since this experience I have told at least 3 friends who've asked who we used to install the units to GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.

I will continue to tell people not to use this company. It's in a businesses best interest to at the very least to apologize! Anyone can do hvac work it's what happens when there's a problem that makes good companies stand out.

Radiator heat was only working on the first floor. Technician was early and called once he was already here. Checked the boiler and said there wasn't enough water in the system and added some. Didn't stay more than 15 minutes to see if everything was working which of course it is not. A PM visit would've included more work, fixed the water level, taken longer, and cost less. Very unhappy and wouldn't recommend.

No you're not going to find my name in your records, I didn't mention that all this happened as I was home recovering from a stroke and my wife took it upon her self to get some things done with out disturbing me. Yes I have the right company, the big red sticker on the furnace says so. And why call you, are you going to refund my money, take this price of garbage out of my home, and repair the holes in my walls and floors, I think not.

Your guarantee is worthlessits only a bait and switch, I've also used you in one of my commercial properties and the results were the same, your "technician" didn't know squat, changed some parts, collected a few hundred and next day I had to have some one else come and do the repairs, but that was my fault I should have known better. Now yes the price does bother me, but I realy wouldn't care if I got what I paid for, but to get out of bed every morning and feel like I walked into my fridge, yes that bothers me. Your technicians vaguely remind me of the crew my landscaper fired, now here's a sticker that was put on my furnace, yes I would definitely say it's your company.

Our boiler in a 6-unit apartment building shut down due to a leaking safety valve which emptied the radiators in the top floor of the building. Upon arrival, the Elm Heating technician, Mike, said we needed a new boiler, without performing any diagnosis. He gave a quote of $14,300 for the replacement and charged us $298 for the service call. We called another vendor the next day for a second opinion. The vendor's technician was able to fix the leaky valve and got the boiler running within two hours. The service call cost us $400. We will never use Elm again.

I had a hot water tank installed about 5 years ago with Elm. I had a tankless heater prior to this one, so I never questioned why it seemed like it never had enough hot water. I just thought that is how it worked. After talking with friends about this recently, they were amazed that a 50 gallon hot water tank would run out. I had another company come out and assess the situation to see if there was anything they could do.

I immediately found out that the hot/cold water lines were installed in a reverse manner and was told that I only had about 10 gallons of hot water at any one time. Ha, I thought, so I said go ahead and fix it. The difference with hot water availability was night and day. So, that is why I gave them one star. They never installed it the right way, I had no experience with hot water tanks so I never thought it was supposed to be any different.

They installed an AC/heating unit last year for me. The installation went fine and price was decent. However, now the heating unit is broken. I'm supposed to have a warranty with them - I called 4 days ago and talked to someone and explained the situation, and they said they would call back. I haven't gotten a call back, and in fact they won't even answer the phone. I have called several times each day, and only get voicemail.

This place is terrible. My dads boiler went out and he called Elm. They told him that he needed a whole new boiler since his couldn't be fixed. They quoted $7,200 with a disabled veteran discount. After calling around I got an HONEST person to look at it. All it needed was a thermal couple and a good cleaning. Cost $100. Elm is dishonest and I recommend that everyone avoid them.

This firm is difficult to deal with, not very competent in problem solving. Had work done on my HVAC system last spring, they rewired and I had to pay another firm $1200 to remediate the mistakes they made. Not worth calling these guys back, just drama and incompetence if you do. I would not recommend this firm for new installations or service. The organization has a new owner, but he dysfunctional culture, poor customer service response and fingerpointing between departments is still sympomatic. Customers come last at this place. Don't bother with them.

Edit to my original post. Mike, you know you are lying. Your technician ( if he can be called that) waived the fee. Also you called me yesterday and asked if you can send someone else and I told you NO! The reason everyone was wearing coats and hats was because 1 my husband had just gotten home from work and 2 my daughters from school. I just had another company come and do the work that was needed for $169 my boiler is now on and working.

That is a HUGE difference from $700 plus call $89. This is not how a business should be run. If you act this way and makeup lies and excuses no wonder your employees are the same! *** DON'T USE THIS SO CALLED BUSINESS! Trash. DON'T USE THIS COMPANY! Save yourself a headache. I don't even think they deserve one star. Called Elm to check our boiler system since we get it checked each year before we turn it on just to make sure everything is working. Mike (Michael) arrived super unprofessional, mad mood, rude, you name it.

He asked why it wasn't turned on yet I told him we usually have one of you guys take a look at it to make sure everything is working. He then said well go turn it on, his tone of voice was not nice. I went upstairs to turn it on less than a minute and he was already trying to charge me $700 he said probably that was the problem he didn't even check it.

I told him I have to check with my dad if he wants that part replaced and he said well why did you call if you are not ready for my services you are going to have to pay the $89 fee twice. Completely being rude I told him to just leave he has no manners. This is not how you treat a customer of 5 years. Please teach your employees how to treat people. Please look at reviews before selecting services if it happens more than once there is a problem.

If you like lack of communication, missed appointments and poor customer service then Elm is for you! I will not be doing business with them in the future.

I recently had a repair man come out to fix my AC unit that was no longer cooling on one of the first hottest days. I called on Friday evening after a sweltering day when I arrived home. The person who took my call said they had no one to send out then but would the next day. I was totally fine with that and appreciative. Good- Took my call on a Friday evening Technician showed up about 9am on Saturday "Fixed it", it runs, installed a new capacitor(condensor) Problem- He replaced the burnt wire & connector with aluminum wire/connector(should have been copper) and a wire nut too small 2 other connectors are bad, should have been replaced.

We are replacing them today This created the situation "that it would likely happen again, in as soon as 3 weeks, and work is not guaranteed." He warned unit is old, should be replaced, bad brand, etc. The technician being a lousy sales person, I took the information to a friend, that doesn't service in the area for an opinion on what was done and the make/model of my AC unit.

His comment was, he's trying to sell you, make sure all the connections are tight or it WILL reoccur. Today I had the work checked and found the problem. I am SO disappointed. I had used Eck for service the past years with good experience. I had maintenance done last fall and was warned of a possible problem but I did not do anything about it since all was running fine.

I realize now maybe a connector was bad, but I was being told the part would be a couple hundred dollars, for what I now see is a piece of wire with a connector. We picked up new wire & connectors for under $10.00 I don't mind paying for expertise, and paid extra for the Saturday call in the heat but will never have this company back

Jeffrey came to service my two AC units yesterday and found one of my thermostats was hooked to heat only. He was able to get my other Central AC up and running with no worries and came back early this morning to work on the inoperable thermostat. Jeffrey was excellent at communicating to me this issue and was extremely accommodating in coming back first thing this morning. I found Elm Heating and Cooling to be one of the most honest Service Companies I have dealt with and I do highly recommend their services.

Highly recommend their services. I had an unusual issue involving a bird's nest blocking the exhaust for my hot water heater. Though this is not the typical type of thing they deal with, Derek went above and beyond to help me out. He explained everything in detail and was very professional and friendly. I will be calling them in the future if I need service again.

I've had Elm Heating & Cooling over to my place a few times. Generally it has been for furnace cleaning - more of a regular maintenance type of thing. I've learned that furnaces can both be more efficient and last longer if they are maintained by professionals. Never thought to write a review; because it is just standard service (albeit done well, reasonably priced, and easy to get an appointment). So. what changed.

Last Saturday afternoon, I realized it was getting quite cold in the house. This was a day when it was (at best) 30 degrees out after unseasonably warm weather prior. I called Elm. They immediately paged their "emergency tech" who was working at 4:30 PM on a Saturday. He called me back within 10 minutes; took my information; told me it would be $79 for the house call - but would be there in a couple hours.

In 45 minutes, he called me back saying he was on his way and would be there in 40 minutes. It was down to 55 in the house by then. He got there right when expected; evaluated the situation quickly and showed me that the digital thermostat had battery acid that had leaked into the circuitry and needed replacing. He offered me 2 choices; explaining the differences (didn't foist the more expensive one on me).

He installed, then showed me how to program it and then tested to insure it worked. He was pleasant, helpful, fixed the problem and never tried to even hint at more expensive work. 4 days later and still running like a charm.

We have used this HVAC service for over a decade. They are great. And if possible, ask for Peter Natalino, who is the best technician we have ever seen!

The guy that came out was very nice, but seriously needs work on negotiating skills. My A/C went out. So called for a quote on A/C furnace combo since its 15+ years old. Had me turn on my A/C and told me the compressor is shot. DUH, that's why it isn't cooling since the fan and everything else is working. Then wanted to charge me $79 for diagnostic.

His diagnostic was feeling the Ac unit which was hot and looking at the mother board. He did have to take panel off the AC to see the the ton and seer value and wants to charge me for that. Argued about that because I called for a quote, I know it's broken. Then went on telling me $10k for a new combo My house is small roughly 1300sq ft. I know it wouldn't cost that much considering I know a few other people had there's installed for 1/2 that price.

First quote 10k then came down to $9000 then 8500 then 7500. 4 quotes by the same company in a matter of 15min. If you want to be dicked around call Elm. Not happy My mother got her combo replaced for $3700 and her house is twice the size of mine. They replaced it with Ducane which is made by Lennox. J&D heating & air. Message me for thier #

I was referred to Elm Heating & Cooling through a coworker of mine. Brian showed up the next day and was responsive and detailed with the new boiler estimate. James, Ralphie, and Dave were the technicians for the installation. I was really impressed by their professionalism and work ethics. After the installation they went all over the house to check the radiators and any possible leakage.

The same night I noticed a few leakages on the vent pipes and contacted Brian and he sent the guys first thing in the morning. Once again Ralphie and Dave showed up and knew the problem right away. Fixed the leakages and gave my wife a brief review of how this system works one more time. These guys are very laid back and patient. I will definitely recommend Elm Heating and Cooling to anyone.

Top notch and highly recommended. I discovered my heat wasn't working when I got home from work. I have a wife and baby at home and needed a tech ASAP because it was 45 degrees in my house. I called Elm at 8pm and a tech showed up within the hour. House was heating in no time. Prices were great for the after hours visit. I saved their number in my phone and know who to call from here on out.

So I get an email from Ron (VP) saying he wanted to talk because he was "concerned with my review and it is not normal practice at Elm." Well a few months later while I was out of town for business our Heat stops working. My wife panics and calls Elm because they were close. Right on cue, the Elm technician tells my wife the "furnace is shot and it would be a few thousand $$$ to replace it." Well I called the Contractor who has done our last few major remodeling jobs to ask if he knew of a reputable and honest HVAC person he can refer us to.

He sent someone over and he told us it was not a furnace problem but a thermostat problem which he fixed for $200. It has worked flawlessly since. This is not an isolated incident with Elm. It's pervasive scamming of people who don't know any better. I really hope this place ends up on the news or reality TV so they get exposed for their pervasive scamming of its customers.
