I used to use this company for years then moved out of state. I recently moved back and wanted to use them again. It's been a frustrating experience in terms of poor communication, inconsistent customer service. Work not being properly done and dropped appointments. Last year I called for my ac to be looked at and $1500 later ac still wasn't fixed or actually even looked at. FF to this year I called to get it fixed and appointments were mixed up, the tech arrived with a cane from recent back surgery (wasted appointment) and couldn't do anything, then next scheduled appointment was dropped from their schedule and depending on who answers the person might be really nice or really rude. Not worth the headache. Bas would be rolling over in his grave to see how his company is now being run.

We needed an air purifier installed to reduce allergens in our house this summer. This afternoon Bryan D came out and installed said purifier, was pleasant to have around, cleaned up the mess, and gave me some helpful, non pushy advice. I called Jacob's yesterday afternoon and 24 hours later, my hvac issue has been solved. Great experience!

We have been using Jacob's for years to service our old furnace and air conditioner. That went so well that we decided to use them to replace our old unit which was approaching 30 years old. It was hard to replace something that was working perfectly but knew at 30 years that we were pushing our luck. A salesman by the name of Joe came out to give me a bid.
He was very professional and listened to my requests and didn't try to upsell me. We decided to use them to replace our furnace and air conditioner. Everything went really well. Brian and Ryan showed up to do the install. First day was furnace second day was air conditioner. Job was done perfectly. They left the work area clean when they were done.
I had a small issue with the furnace and called on Sunday to ask about it and they sent Brian out to take a look at it. He showed up less than an hour after my call and fixed the issue on the spot. The office crew was professional and polite. They were very patient with all my questions and responded immediately to my calls. They went above and beyond to make the whole process easy for me. I would highly recommend Jacob's heating and cooling for service work and installs.

Bryan D, Mtce Tech, was excellent & quite thorough. He had several tips and recommendations. The HVAC unit was installed in April 2021 while rented out. We recently moved in and Bryan helped us understand what we have. He suggested we upgrade the filter system to a much easier and efficient way. All in all he is a great representation of his company.

It has been a while since I dealt with a group of people so dedicated to customer service. The installation of an A/C unit went smoothly and professionally. But what impressed me the most was how they handled a post installation issue. I contacted the sales representative who sold me the job at about 10:30 p.m. to ask him if he could send someone to verify that that job done in the crawl space was done satisfactorily (there was a water leak in the bathroom that I thought might be related to the installation). I got a response within minutes and the next day one of the supervisors came to the house and did a thorough inspection. Wow that is taking your job seriously. Thank you!

We had a particularly excellent experience with Jacobs's entire service and installation team for last 20 years. Our estimator ( Mike?) very knowledgeable and helpful. He explained the set up best for our home. Their price is high but they know what they are doing. Jacob's H&C were wonderful to work with, would 100% recommend them to anyone needing any heating, cooling, or HVAC work. Everyone was professional, timely and courteous. Joe gave me a thorough bid with explanation for my new furnace and AC. I felt respected as a homeowner, especially as a female not familiar with HVAC systems. Install crew was professional and flexible with the other contractors that were at the house. They kept the area clean and were happy to explain what they were doing throughout the day. I called Jacobs on a Wednesday morning during a cold snap. I figured that I wouldn't hear back for a few days, which was fine as our situation wasn't urgent. They called me back that afternoon to schedule maintenance for Friday! I was so impressed. My service window was between 12-5 pm. Imagine my surprise when I got a call from Jake (the service tech) at 11:30 letting me know that he'd be to our house in 30 minutes.
When he arrived, he was professional and very nice. He let me know exactly what he was doing and asked questions about our system to make sure everything was running well. He was so polite and even took a minute to pet my sweet 15 year old dog. I am so happy with the service I received that I am scheduling an appointment to add UV lights to our AC to kill bacteria and improve our air quality. Thank you Jacobs and thank you Jake!

I called Jacob's to fix a leaking furnace. They scheduled a date for diagnosis, cancelled on me the same day they were supposed to come and tried to reschedule me two other times. Finally got the diagnosis and was told it would be under $500 to repair. I had to call multiple times to follow up and find out what the next step is. Two weeks later I finally get a hold of someone, and I am told the cost is $870 after I already paid a $175 diagnosis fee, for a total of $1,045.
Their part is backordered for a month and a half, so I found the same part online for $130 that can arrive in a week. This is the same part they want to charge me $403 for, plus $467 in labor. I asked "if I order the part on my own can you install it?" Turns out they will install it without warranty, ok fair I guess, but now the labor cost is $642 if I source the part myself that they cannot get for another 6 weeks! 1 star for their flakey scheduling. 1 star for poor communication. 1 star for making the customer feel like they don't matter. 1 star for false quotes and non-transparency. The tech they sent out was nice and did his job quickly while he was here. Only good thing I have to say. Needless to say, I do not recommend Jacob's.

My elderly fathers furnace went out and he had no heat. During this pandemic. I called Jacobs heating and they made him a priority. It was so cold. They came out that day. Diagnosed issue. the technician name was Ryan. He was very professional. Clean. And just made the whole experience great. I highly recommend this heating company. The receptionist was a delight.
Without a doubt these people will get you taken care. Ryan went above all and made sure my father had some heat by lighting his gas fire place for him. So we was warm while we ordered part. Which came in on a timely matter. Thank you for taking care of my father and being great people. during this difficult. Short handed times we're in. Top knotch in my book. Thank you!

Jacobs was a lifesaver when we needed help on behalf of our elderly neighbor. They pulled out all the stops, and came out quickly, fixed what was needed, and did not overcharge. This was oil heat, and required a specialized tech, and they came when they said they would, called me a couple of times to check in for arrangements, and called when the job was done as well to make sure everything was working right. Conrad and Randy are awesome to work with, and I really appreciate everything they did!

Jacobs was recommended to us by a trusted neighbor and we wanted to get another quote on replacing our furnace. We began getting bids in the summer and decided to contract with Jacobs, thinking we had plenty of time before the cold weather.then our old furnace croaked! We worked with the installation manager Melanie, who was FABULOUS! She helped try to move up the install date (scheduled for November) and loaned us space heaters when we started to get too cold at night!

I saw the Jacob's advertisement on TV and it was the only company that indicated my furnace was their main product. Since moving into my home I had parts break on the furnace that a warranty covered. Before winter I wanted to have routine maintenance service. John called when he was 15 minutes out which I should note was on the early part of the appointment window.
Not only did he do a thorough cleaning of my furnace but he tested and adjusted the efficiency it. He answered all my questions about provided me with information as he went along about what he was doing and why it was important. Never once did it seem like he was in a hurry but rather was more interested in being sure that what he was doing had value to me.
He gained my trust and his company credibility. He also provided a service option to come back in the spring and complete the maintenance on my AC system too. It made financial sense to pay a little bit more to have both systems serviced.

I scheduled an appointment for fireplace servicing several weeks ago. Today (two days before our appointment) I received a voicemail stating that they would have to refer me somewhere else. They had a regular customer have an emergency that they had to bump us for, which I understand, but then said their only technician was booked out too far to schedule us.
If they are that overcommitted I wish they'd just told us over a month ago so I could have found someone else. Worst of all, there was zero apology in the voicemail, either for the short notice cancel or the fact of them leaving us hanging.

Jacobs Heating & A/C installed a new furnace and added central air when we bought our home in 2011. Since then we've maintained a service & inspection contract with them which provides semi-annual inspection of our system to ensure our system is running properly and that any issues are discovered before we have a failure. The service contract is quite reasonably priced and renewable on an annual basis.
All the technicians Jacobs have dispatched have been excellent, but the technician that came today (his name is Jake) was the best ever, a true 5 star professional. We'd been hearing a whining noise for a few months and he diagnosed the issue, explained it to us, and we're now scheduled for a timely repair in a few days. Nobody wants to have their furnace go out in the middle of winter and thanks to Jake we've taken the steps we needed to prevent that.

I have been using Jacobs for over 20 years, and I do not know if there is new management!? But we hired them for maintenance of our heating furnace. We do this every year! The maintenance fee of $200 includes changing our filter. The tech did not, yet it's part of the charge. I called. They schedule it. So today no show witching the 7am-12pm time.
I called, I was told technician called in sick. Susan says " it's okay to call in sick if his son is sick!" I said, "is the scheduler sick? Are you?, why not call a customer to let them know". I guess I'll be looking for another company to service me. BTW I gave them the opportunity to make this right. They totally have not! Bye!

Love these guys, decided to get ahead of the game and get my gas fireplace and heat-pump serviced before they stopped working this winter. This is their second annual service. What I love is the actual, knowledgable person who answers the phone. What a treat and very helpful. As a retired marketing person I understand that the person who answers your call is possibly the most important person in the office. Jacobs nailed it.
Their service people are great, helpful, skilled and super pleasant. Last trip they serviced my gas fireplace including vacuuming the interior and cleaning the glass. He installed my new nest thermostat and tuned up the heat pump. Came when expected, pleasant, offered to wear a mask and tidied up before he left. And, of course left everything working perfectly. Love these guys. Can't comment on the price but it seemed very fair to me. Also signed up for a service contract, also seemed like a fine deal. Highly recommended.

After giving me an estimate to install a circuit breaker and wiring from the heat pump to the thermostat, I called to have the work done. Because I didn't want to pay another $317.59 (yes, that was the exact quoted price, for some reason) to have the thermostat "installed" -- that is, to spend 10 minutes connecting wires to terminals and screwing the device to the wall -- they said they would not warranty the wiring installation.
When I objected and asked to speak with someone about pricing to see if we could find a way to put a reasonable price on the thermostat "install, " after checking with her supervisor the phone rep said, and I quote, "I can't give you a break down on the pricing because we've chosen not to do the repair." I guess if enough people are willing to pay ridiculously inflated prices for trivial work there's no need to maintain good customer relations with people who can use a screwdriver.
What is most galling about the whole thing is that they quoted me $742.58 (yep, again, that's the exact number. No idea how they arrived at it) for a new Ecobee thermostat. You have to work hard to pay more than $250 for the top of the line Ecobee online. Including shipping. Do they not know that people have the Internet? Do people pay actually those prices? Does Ecobee know the kind of markup they're charging?
Of course, seeing that makes me wonder about the rationale of the other prices they quoted. But between that and $317 to tighten a few screws, it's hard not to conclude that this company is just gouging the hell out of everyone. BEWARE!

Called for them to come out and work on our furnace on Monday. I was told it wouldn't be able to get us until Wednesday afternoon. Turns out, we found another company to do it that day so I called on Tuesday to cancel our appointment. They told me they don't have any record of any service scheduled for us on Wednesday. They even told me I probably called the wrong company, which I didn't, I just hit redial from the call on Monday. Glad we chose the other company.

Our heat worked. We had a warm house. Jacobs' tech came to our house, "calibrated our furnace, " we paid them, and now (same day) we have no heat at all. Only cold air. Cannot reach Jacobs to get any attention. Lucky us, a winter weekend without heat! Their service was worse than a waste of time and money, it actually left us WORSE OFF than we were before they wasted our time and money. Yes, I'm not pleased.

My gas furnace wouldn't come on, and HVAC service tech Brian D. Was able to come out within a day. He got the system up and running right away. I also requested he perform a tune-up, which was an additional cost to the service call, but I thought it was worth it to ensure my system was in good shape. I ended up buying their service agreement which gives me 10% off this service and the next one. Brian was extremely knowledgeable and friendly, he even gave me some pointers for keeping everything running smoothly.

I just bought a new heat pump from Jacobs, that was installed less than 30 days ago.it's not working, and they are so busy, the soonest appoinment I can get is for Thursday of next week.6 days out. Glad it's not freezing, but seriously worried that if it's going to be like this the first time I need to use the heat, what's it going to be like for the rest of this relationship?

I had a service tech out to check our air conditioner to get ready for summer. I was shocked at the bill of $501! $180 for the service all, which I knew in advance. $155 for 1# of Freon, removed 1/2# to start saying too full, then put it back in and added the additional 1#. $165 for the act (turning a valve) of putting in the Freon. I did contact Jacobs and was told the tech knows what he is doing. I'm unsure if I would contact them again at these prices. W Banks
