I called Home Comfort because my regular HVAC company was booked through June. The owner (Dan Schacke) actually came out to do the repair. Really nice guy that didn't mind me hanging out and asking questions about the problem/repair. He took the time to explain the steps he was taking to diagnose the issue and quickly resolved it once it was identified. Thanks Dan, and stay cool out there!

Our service man deserves the highest review as a decent person and true professional in his field. His calm demeanor and even keel communication skills were easy to work with. He knew what he was talking about and didn't try to add anything in that wasn't needed in his visit. This company gets how to make working relationships work. Dan and team performed a whole bunch of work. replace water heater, add hepa furnace filter, cleaned ducts, ran nrw wire and installed nest thermostat and more. Super clean work. Super responsive. The situation was difficult as we're still in Boston before moving. Dan easily coordinated all jobs, took lots of pictures so we could see the work, and was great in communicating progress and asking questions as needed. We would not hesitate to use Home Comfort again!

Then Craig, our technician, was so knowledgeable and professional. He found the problem immediately. It just needed a minor adjustment. I just had our fall maintenance done on my furnace and water heater by Home Comfort. Our service man was Taylor C and I just wanted to give him a shout out for doing an awesome job. I got a text and an email to alert me that he was on his way, as well as a phone call from him personally to let me know he was coming. They had all the appropriate masks and footwear and we're extremely pleasant to speak with.
He got right to work and spent enough time with my equipment to thoroughly check them out. After he was finished he explained to me exactly what was done, what he would recommend I look out for as well as pictures of what he was talking about. I also got a follow up email from Home Comfort with detailed invoicing as well as another copy of the pictures and PDF of the checklists that they used. I would highly recommend Home Comfort. No surprises, good work and pleasant personnel which is a rarity these days.

Unhappy with my old HVAC maintenance company. My first choice in Home Comfort was defiantly the right choice. The were able to come out same day. My technician was extremely knowledgeable and professional. Went way above and beyond what my previous HVAC company would do. Needed a replacement of a garage heater later that same week. They came out again next day and again went way above and beyond what any other HVAC maintenance company would do. No need to look anywhere else again.

I had a CO2 leak in my home. The fire dept. was called and said the leak was from my furnace. The fire dept. turned off furnace told me that if what they thought was the problem I would need a new furnace. I called Home Comfort and explained my problem. Dan, the owner, and a technician responded promptly and checked the furnace. As the fire dept. had said I needed a new furnace. Dan gave me a reasonable estimate and the new furnace was installed within two days. Dan was very professional and knowledgeable about everything and explained it to me in way that I completely understood. I would recommend Home Comfort to my family and friends without hesitation.

For HVAC this group is excellent! I had a very small issue with some maintenance work otherwise they would for sure be 5 stars. Their installers are the best, the estimate fairly and they showed up as promised and on schedule to replace our furnace and air conditioner. Will 100% be using them again.

I am so happy to write this review! I own two properties and use Home Comfort for both. Recently, I needed a pump replaced for my boiler. Bill came and did the work! He is such a great guy. His expertise impressed me. Bill was informative, professional, honest, knowledgeable and an absolute pleasure to deal with. He was neat, organized and got the job done in a timely manner.

We recently hired Home Comfort to install a garbage disposal and dishwasher. We are especially impressed by the level of professional service that was given by both Craig and by Brian, the plumber. Brian worked very hard all day to make sure the piping installation was done properly and that there were no leaks or impact on other water outlets in our home. Brian communicated clearly to make sure I was aware of his progress and potential problems. Brian cleaned up his tools and materials, leaving the kitchen the way he found it. Don't hesitate to hire Home Comfort, and ask for Brian if you need plumbing work.

I was schedule to have someone, John, come out and provide an estimate to replace a bath fan and install some venting as the old unit was not vented to the outside. I waited 3 weeks and took off work early to meet him for our appointment at 4 PM last Friday. He called on Friday morning and left a voicemail saying that bath fans run between $950 and $1,050 and that he did not need to come out.
I called him back shortly after this and indicated that we needed new venting installed and I assumed he would need to come out to estimate that. He did not call back nor show up. I called your office on Friday afternoon and asked to speak with a manager. I was told there was not one there and I left a message. No one called me back. I'm really disappointed and can assure you that I will not be doing any business with Home Comfort in the future.

I had a great experience with this company. I was selling a home in the area from out of state and needed some home repairs completed in a rush. Dan and his crew gave me a reasonable quote and got someone out to complete the 3 separate jobs right away! They were easy to contact and work with through the entire process and did a great job. They also were able to provide me with a paid invoice in a timely manner to present at the closing! Great service!

Highly recommended for HVAC, remodeling, plumbing, electrical, flooring, carpentry. Friendly, prompt, and professional. We've dealt with them for years on a variety of projects and recommended them to friends & family. Not only do they arrive on time, they get there early and wait for the appointment. Professional office staff too. Not cheap but they don't take sleazy shortcuts.

Bill was the technician that serviced our furnace for its annual cleaning. He was very professional, polite and friendly. He thoroughly explained what he was doing, the condition of our furnace and what he recommended be addressed. He offered a maintenance plan, which saved us more than a few dollars. I am impressed with Home Comfort and I'm not easily pleased. We will continue to use their professional services.

Today I had a great experience with Home Comfort's repair services. (Average February day, not crazy cold.) Our furnace hadn't been producing consistent heat for weeks, and it finally gave out completely yesterday. I called at 8:00 this morning in hopes of having someone come by same-day. Brian the dispatcher put me next on the list, and Bill the repairman came by around 10:00 am.
He was courteous, knowledgeable, and friendly; wore booties to protect the floors from his boots and got on good terms with my very curious dog. I like to learn new things whenever I work with service people or vendors, so I was happy to duck my head in when he offered to show me the problem and the solution (the heat sensor was getting corroded and had been weak for a long time). Bill was on his way in about an hour, and now I have a warm home again!

We just moved into a new condo in Chicago and had Home Comfort out for a check-up on my HVAC system. The appointment was easy to schedule and they were able to get me on the books during busy season within a week or so which was a lot faster than other companies. Bill was my great technician and he was professional (even took the time to put covers over his shoes so as not to track any dirt in the house), timely (gave me a heads up when he was en route within the estimated service window), thorough, walked me through the basics of my system, gave me pointers, etc. I am very impressed and will have Home Comfort back out in the Spring to service my AC Unit as well.

Well, I recently moved into a condo on the NW side of Chicago from the Hyde Park neighborhood and WAS NOT going to use the SW side heating and cooling company I used at my former condo. I won't name the company but their service sucked! I found Home Comfort Services on the internet. Their webpage stated that they specialized in American Standard systems and not knowing the overall condition of unit I decided to give them a try and trust me. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.

As a former client of Comfort Heating and Cooling, these guys were entrusted to take over for all the customers when the owner of Comfort retired. However, I do not suggest them if you live in Chicago. First, they charge you almost 70% more just to come out, apparently, and that is just 15 minutes of diagnostics. Anything over 15 minutes and you're going to pay another 150 bucks an hour for labor, including the time the technician takes to talk to you about how much the bill is going to be and to tell you that you need to replace the filter.
I was charged $260 to replace a fuse on the control board, which is extremely overpriced. 2 stars is deserved as the technician was really nice, but this company is way overpriced for services in Chicago. I would have paid half the amount with any other company that does services in Chicago.

They went from one star to five stars to four. You can read my original post below (one star), to which the owner responded with what appeared to be a plausible explanation -- and he's honoring all the warranties and service of the company he purchased, has been in business 17 years, etc. Gave a nice backstory, seemed legit. But as soon as I changed my rating to 5 (with a short note, indicating it was just for the tone, speed, clarity, and quality of communication with a potentially hostile customer) he deleted his reply, my clarification, his response.
What was I to make of that? Deleting the conversation was not right, esp. the promise to cover warranties (which was not, by the way, mentioned in the letter by Comfort Heating). I changed it to 2 stars. He put back the communication. So I give 4 stars, if it stays. I do like good small businesses and his is most likely one. But I'm not kind to scammers, and I don't think he is one. ------------------------------ Something seems fishy.
I have used a service Comfort Heating and Cooling until recently. Then they charged me $600 for a "hard to get" part which I found for $95 in 1 min. They said they can't replace a circuit board, they don't make them anymore for my unit; I'll need to replace the furnace. But I found the board easily; it was $62, I bought and replaced it myself.
Now I get a letter from a "Lazaro Garcia" who I' dont know, saying he's retiring immediately, closing Comfort Heating and Cooling and urging customers to switch to Home Comfort Services, with his great recommendation. Thanks for being a dedicated customer, and so on. Home Comfort Services will take great care of you. Glad I didn't get my furnace replaced! Everyone who did may have just lost their warrantee. The kicker: Comfort Heating and Home Comfort Services have the same address.

My last service call was a complete disappointment. Had a guy come out for a estimate on a new furnace and air conditioner. It's been around 4 months and no word on price, etc. I also found out the last service call for a refill on freon, was way overpriced. They charged me $100 a pound and he said that's what they get it for! Do to a leak in the air conditioner I had to have it refilled again but by a different company. The other company charged me $50 a pound. I will have my furnace and AC replaced by the new company, not home comfort.

Called Home Comfort to do a seasonal furnace check up. They were professional from start to finish. Easy to schedule the appointment, the office quoted accurate prices up front, and the serviceman came on time. Best part is their internet based services - I didn't just get a phone call saying the guy was on his way, they sent an email, which is a lot more convenient than having to run to the phone.
And they do online payments too. One of the things I hate about home repair is when the repair guy takes his not so clean clipboard and puts it on your kitchen counter or dining room table to fill out an invoice, then hands you a stained piece of paper as a receipt. Not these guys - everything's electronic, and the copy of the invoice and the receipt were emailed to me. All very professional and the work was completed quickly and well. I'll be happy to do business with them again.

I asked this company over to fix a hot water heating system -they did a fine job I had an issue with them removing other service providers stickers. Home Comfort's owner contacted me, sincerely apologized, worked to correct the situation and made things right with me. Sometimes mistakes are made. It's how we correct them that means something in the end.

We've been using Home comfort for years now. Yes they do have strong Christian and moral values, but they're also really great at what they do. They've even done a few things for little or no charge because, "it was no big deal and we're good customers." I'm now about to have them update my recording studio with their construction division.
The estimated price was reasonable, and again, there's a trust factor that cannot be bought. This will be a tough process as much needs to be done. This is the first time I've used this division, so I'll report back.
