We've had numerous instances where Keyes went beyond and above to save the day. When our power failed in mid-winter snowstorm, they were able to fix it quickly before our pipes froze. Routine maintenance is completely promptly and efficiently. They are always on time (or clearly give notice if their schedule is running long). The staff is well trained, courteous, and helpful. We've used them for years for all sorts of electrical and HVAC problems and always been happy with the results.

Keyes has been my heating/ac service company for over 20 years. I can't rate them highly enough. They are responsive and if it's a small fix have never made it into a big fix. Today I called because my upstairs heat wasn't working. It was fixed within a couple of hours. You can't go wrong if you use them.

I highly recommend this company! We had problems with our a/c unit, and they've gone above and beyond to make sure that all the correct parts were ordered very quickly and installed professionally. This week we had a second problem, and Mike came and was able to diagnose the issue right away and ordered the part and installed it 45 minutes (!) later. We now have cool air and I couldn't be more thankful!

Keyes installed a HVAC unit for me 2 years ago. I will start there. First, the rebates amount state in the proposal was way off ($2,000 usd vs less $600 actual rebate). I understand that they cannot guarantee this part, but the estimation was way off. The job itself was average. Now, I was looking for making some changes in my unit and was willing to give them another chance.
Reach out to them, set an appointment for next day with the disclaimer that I want to finish the project as soon as possible. With less than 24 hrs they cancel my appointment and did not let me know since they took my phone number incorrectly. Their solution was, "I can send someone next week". Right now, I would recommend a different place where customer service is paramount and not just something that we put in office walls.

Quote for electrical work $4,225 (2 light strips; 4 recessed lights; 3 outdoor receptacles; misc) Quoted an exorbitant amount for very simple jobs. Using their first 30 min rate of $135 and $90 per hour thereafter the quotes were as follows: Installing four recessed lights: $1,350. Even using $135 per 30 minutes the estimated time would take ~5 hours.
At a $90/hr rate, it would take 7.5 hours. Insulation contact rated light costs absolutely do not explain that crazy cost either. Two LED strip lights. $1,125. FOR A BASEMENT? Maybe one LED light could cost as much as $100 so $200 for two. But using their rates, even when subtracting $200, it would take five to seven hours to put in two LED strip lights?
I could do this in less than two and a trained electrician would take two to three times as long? Removing two ~3 foot long electric baseboard heaters and one box heater. $475, That would equate to roughly two to three hours of work by their rates. Still too long IMHO, but not as crazy as the recessed light or basement light quote. Installing three outdoor receptacles. $1,275.
Maybe if they were putting in new conduit, but they were using existing boxes and wiring. Roughly 5 to 7 hours using their rates. Crazy. The pricing used to be reasonable and the work was done in one visit. Perhaps the quotation visits are part of the reason the pricing is so untenable. It certainly was a complete waste of my time as I had to wait for the "quote visit" and then wait a few days after the "quote visit" to receive this estimate.

I've had a really bad experience with Keyes North Atlantic last year. Tried to install an Ecobee smart thermostat, couldn't do it myself, blew a fuse in the furnace. Called Keys North Atlantic and specifically asked for a person who's familiar with smart thermostats. They send a guy out who spend 1.5 hours looking around, but didn't do anything but putting old (non-smart) thermostat back, saying he's never seen anything like this. Charged us $350 and left without really doing anything. Turns out our set up was very common for the furnace/AC combination and I've found tons of information available.
I just had to run an extra wire, which I did myself in less than 30 minutes, and everything worked perfectly. Very disappointed due to dishonesty and would not recommend for any job.

I have used Keyes for years on multiple projects - large buildings and home. Their installations have been terrific. Top notch materials and full explanations. Finding qualified technicians for the multiple systems in use is tough. Keyes is up on the latest technology which is ever more complex. Their guys are always courteous, super clean, cautious and careful.
For several years they nursed along a problem boiler another company had installed. Very politely they suggested it was time for a replacement. Excellent! Wish I had done it several years ago. I have found them responsive, informed and very professional. Terrific owners and a great team who are always available if there are problems (which I have not had). They have my highest recommendation.

Here's a big shout-out to Jennifer and Matt at Keyes North Atlantic. My central air went out last night and I called at 11am this morning. Jennifer sent Matt out and he was here at 3:30pm the same day (!) on an absolutely sweltering day. Matt changed my filter and replaced the capacitor on the compressor, both of which he had in his truck. Now it's working better than before it broke! I had heard Keyes was the best in the area and I'm so glad we used them!

I had what I thought was a long and very good relationship with them, paying $135 a year for maintenance and inspection (plus filter change) of my HVAC unit, plus $1000 of repair work over the last 5 1/2 years. They advertise "24 hour emergency service" on their website, but I now believe that's a false and fraudulent claim, because when I desperately needed it and asked for it, early Monday morning, I was told that the earliest possible appointment was Wednesday afternoon.
I have no A/C at present, it's 85 in my bedroom (at 1 AM), I suffer from moderate to severe complex sleep apnea, and my last two nights of sleep before I leave at 3:00 AM Wednesday for a research conference (where I chair a committee) are pretty much barely happening (I got four poor quality hours last night). I will let them know tomorrow that I'm ending my relationship with them.

These guys are world class. Just so professional. They did an EV Charger install in my garage, and I can't say enough good things about them. Incredibly responsive, sensitive to all the extra issues that come with an install. Totally trustworthy - we felt comfortable leaving them alone in the house to complete the work, while the kids needed to be picked up at school. Kurt's now my go to for anything electrical and I'd happily pay a premium to work with them.

I'm really surprised by the previous reviews! My company owns several properties in the Boston area and Keyes has always done an amazing job with both installation and service. Our buildings have every type of system you can think of, from steam, to electric, to boilers, etc. and Keyes has been knowledgeable, prompt, professional, and very accommodating to to our schedule with each property. They've even made special trips after business hours when we needed service in a pinch! Highly recommended!

They sent a racist technician to my house! The owner gave us a quote on the phone (including parts). We went to Home Depot and purchased the part (a fan) ourselves for a full $200 less than the quote. The technician arrived and said we bought the wrong part and the issue wasn't the fan, but wiring (NSTAR did the original inspection and told us what the issue was).
He said he didn't need to speak to NSTAR and referred to us as "you people" several times, saying we always having a problem. He was in the middle of berating my sister when my brother walked into the basement and asked him to leave. He had assumed my sister was alone and the sight of my brother shook him up and he packed his tools and left in a hurry but not before exacting some measure of revenge by shutting our heat off. Luckily, my sister knew how to turn it back on else we'd be stuck with no heat until we could find a more professional technician.
What galls me is that they are listed with the BBB (Better Business Bureau - which means nothing) and we found them on Angie's List! Keyes North Atlantic, Inc = racist thieves!

Inexcusably late with no phone call and no explanation. I scheduled an inspection for a faulty furnace for a Wednesday morning. I was told a tech would arrive between 8 and 8:30. At 8:45, I called in and was told the tech was stuck in traffic and would be there shortly. At 9:05, I called back and was told the tech was still in traffic and would be there in another half hour.
I informed them that I needed to go to work and wasn't able to wait. At 10:15, a tech called me to let me know he was outside my house, a full two hours late and despite the fact I told their dispatcher I wouldn't wait. Had the weather been bad or had they called and let me know they were way off schedule, I would have been annoyed but understanding. Instead, they waited for me to call them, provided two bogus estimates of when the tech would arrive, and failed to offer any sort of plausible explanation of why they were two hours behind their promised arrival time. Completely unprofessional and inexcusable.
