I had Moon come out today to diagnose an issue with my A/C unit. They said I needed a "voltage enhancement system rejuvenation" that would be from $411-$1200 depending on if I wanted a "band-aid" repair or full repair with warranty. I did a little more research, and ended up fixing it MYSELF in five minutes with a $17 part. I called back to confirm- for the $411 all they would do is change the $17 part. This is absolutely disgusting- they obviously prey on people they think don't know any better. I will be telling everyone I know to never use them. They will rip you off.

Replaced our AC & Heater system. We also use them for regular maintenance on all systems. The office was friendly, kind and incredibly helpful. Steve the project manager was knowledgeable and spent a lot of time helping us make our decision as well as supportive afterwards even on his days off. Paul, their lead installer was kind, helpful and did an amazing job. Peter, part of the install team was also very personable and did a great job! I am so thankful for this company and their employees. Mr. Moon you have a awesome team.

Mike arrived promptly and quickly diagnosed a clogged filter in the basement unit. He put a new filter in that I already had and explained that we need to change the filter regularly. He then set the thermostat control and explained what we needed to do tonight and tomorrow morning. Very quick and thorough call. Much appreciated! My wife and I set out to get quotes from 3 HVAC companies in and around Elkton/Newark areas to install mini splits all over our un airconditioned home. Moon Air sent a gentlemen by the name of Steven Podesta to our house to start the process. Steven arrived promptly, was a very friendly person and listened to our concerns. Once the quote arrived, Moon and another company were close in price.
I submitted the other estimate to Steve Podesta who promptly addressed it with his management. He beat the competition and beat it by about $1000. Furthermore Moons 12 year parts and 12 year labor stood out to my wife and I. Also, the fact that Moon uses parts made in America was huge to us as a family. I cannot say enough about Steve. Once we decided to use Moon, I was concerned of a possible backlog, Steve assured me they could start as soon as we needed them to.
We booked the install date for 2 weeks out which was another huge benefit. The booking day arrived and I was met with an early morning phone call from the office stating the technicians were on the way. Tammy stated if I preferred she could call daily to inform me they were on the way. I chose that option as well. Tammy was cheerful and very polite over the phone.
I cannot stress how much of a customer service kind of guy that I am. My wife and I always treat people with kindness and we felt this company has set standards for great customer service. Not only did I get a call, but we received emails as well. Communication is a priority with Moon and they do it with a smile. I love that! As far as the install team goes, everyone that arrived, made eye contact, was polite and I was always addressed with a sir, even though I told them to call me Steve. Paul, Paul, Shawn and Kyle should all be commended for how they conduct themselves in the public eye.
I could not have gotten a more prompt, polite and professional crew. These guys were awesomeness defined. On top of their professionalism, they did amazing work. We had 8 mini splits installed with two outdoor compressors, it looks amazing. They provided us with a four day install estimate. They completed the install in three days! To the owner of Moon Air: Thank you! You have a world class team here. You should give customer service advice to the majority of the business world, you have earned my families business forever. Thank you!

I can't say enough great things about this company. They helped get my heating up and running. The repair team explained every step of the way repairs needed and what to expect. I was so happy with the repair work when I started to think about a new ac they were top of list. Keith came out multiple times to assess the best way to install a ductless system in my over 200+ year old house. Keith appreciated the beauty and character of the older home and designed a system that will both save us money and not detract from the historical look of the home.
He consulted with other experts and looked for an ideal solution for our very unique situation. The ladies in the office are also amazing to deal with. Thanks Keith and team!

This Company has been a pleasure to work with, we have had some system issues. They have been responsive in every way and working diligently through part delays and other setbacks. They even offered backup solutions if needed to fill any downtime gaps we had with our heating system. We are a business that can't be without heat or a/c. We have used Moon for both heating and A/C services. Today we had our heat pump serviced. The two techs we polite, efficient, and helpful. Took care of our service, gave us a report on how things were, and were very nice! Will continue to use Moon. I recommend them! Service: Heating system maintenance

Horrible company. Had these guys out for a repair. They told us we had a bad compressor and we needed to replace the whole system. We had another company come out to take a 2nd look and all that needed to be replaced was a $100 part. Moon didn't seem interested at all in trying to repair my unit and basically just pressured me toward having the system completely replaced.
They just wanted me to speak to a salesman, and seemed completely uninterested in helping once we expressed hesitation. I would never recommend this company, they're overpriced and they use shady business tactics.

You guys are a f***ng joke. You advertise that you are looking for "new talent." I have interviewed with you at least twice in the last few years. I cannot say how haphazard you guys are. I have gotten the job twice, but backed out, knowing what you are all about. PLEASE. If you are a tech. service or install, please honor yourself by retracting any offer. Offers from Moon are bogus. Salary offers in your offer are based on how you can UP-SELL THE CUSTOMER, not on how you perform on the job. Do yourself, and RUN. Moon is a sweatshop!

Went with 2 stars because they can provide good service, but $340 for a pressure switch for labor only on a unit they installed 6 years ago is total BS. So I knew about the $90 to have someone show up and diagnose, he did that and said it was a pressure switch. So I was charged $250 to walk to the truck, walk back, attach 3 wires and 1 screw at the front of the cabinet.
All he could say is "well that's our standard rate for that service". Well it's a load of shit if it's true or not. He was able to travel 1/2 there and 1/2 hour home and work for 1/2 hour for $90, then suddenly they charge $1000 per hour after that. OHHHH AND he told me that was a discount.

I've honestly had nothing but bad experiences with Moon Air. We were buying a home and the HVAC did not seem to be working properly so the seller's had Moon Air inspect it and they said it was fine. We bought the home, only to find for certain that it was not working. Moon Air came out and found a sensor had gone bad but refused to stand by their inspection stating that "sensors can go bad at any time".
After that, our system was still not working properly so we called them again. They came out and changed our thermostat thresholds and said that it was fine and that there was nothing wrong with the system, though it continued to act up. Today Moon Air returned for regular maintenance to prep for the AC. The guy who came today said he looked through the file and saw where Moon Air had recommended that the capacitor be replaced to the old seller, yet they failed to put that in their inspection report.
He also said the system was too small for the home- again, it was never placed in the inspection report. We are so done dealing with them. We have a service contract with them but will be going elsewhere from now on. Our experience with them has wasted our money without fixing the problem and the company has overall been dishonest with us on 3 separate occasions. Please save your money. We'll be replacing our unit using another company.

I had no problem with their service, respectful, knowledgeable and any problems on their end were fixed quickly. However, this year membership rates were doubled for the same membership from last year, and since I only have a single unit to service; there's no benefit for me with or without a membership. Update 10/20/2017 Moon stated the combustion chamber on my furnace was going to need to be replaced(cracks, lining)and it would cost $1,000 for repair. Come to find there were no cracks, it looked very good, for it's age, and it can be done cheaper.

So it's August it's hot and guess what quit working, my heat pump. So I call Moon air. I need a replacement. They tell me a salesman will be out in the morning. To my behold it's Steve Moon. We sit down and discuss the particulars of size SEER and other issues. We agree on a price and he offers next day install. Out come two wonderful employees JP and Anthony. It's real feel heat at 110 130 in my attic and these guys completed repairs Ina timely and efficient manner.
They did it as true representatives of Moon Air. The price was right The service was better than right. And the unit functions better than I anticipated. Win win for all involved If you need something done in climate control call Moon Air.

Moon services in my opinion are terrible at servicing their customer. I had to wait 4 to 5 days for an original appointment. The technician was pleasant and knowledgeable. I was told they would call me that day with a quote. I had to call them three days later to find out the quote. Tammy had to call me back. Called me back and told me that the parts were not under warranty even though they gave me a 10 year parts warranty. They stated that because I did not pay them each year to have the unit inspected that the unit is no longer under warranty. Seems like a rip-off to me.

I liked this company and the previous person they sent to conduct requested repairs, so I signed up for a contract, which gave me a discount on parts and services, as well as a yearly service. At the time of my yearly service, Moon Air sent two unfamiliar gentlemen to conduct it. They spent over two hours in my house, attic, and with the unit. Up to this point, my unit worked properly and I had no issues.
However their assessment differed greatly. They adamantly insisted that I need over $400 worth of work and parts replaced on my unit. They were unable to tell me specific parts, other than sensor and control board. When pressed for more information on what was wrong, all they did was provide my unit's model number. It seemed very disingenuous.
I proceeded to call a separate company (the company that installed my unit for the previous owners) to schedule a diagnosis with them for a second opinion. They found absolutely nothing wrong with my unit and saved me the trouble of unnecessary "repairs." I would not recommend this company unless you want to spend money on unnecessary work.

This service had been recommended to me by a friend, so when I received a message from Amazon Local with a coupon offer for inspection and tune up of Air Conditioning and heating units I went for it. Both my furnace and AC are less than five years old and never had a problem, but they hadn't been checked out in a long time and I wanted to be sure they were safe.
It cost some money, but I thought it would prevent future problems. I was really wrong about that, because about two weeks after their "tune-up" it got hot enough to need AC. My air conditioner quit working for the first time ever. I called the Moon Air people back thinking if they had done something wrong they would fix it without charge. They discovered that the compressor had burned itself up along with the jacket around the compressor, a capacitor some wires and a contactor.
The return visit was only $29, but the estimate to repair it was over $2000. I was in shock. They said they had "never seen anything like it". The AC (Trane) has a 10 year parts warranty. To make a long story short I got another estimate from a Trane repair service for about half the price Moon estimated. Naturally I went with the much lower estimate, and they fixed it yesterday and so far it seems back to normal.
I guess that AC tune -up was a big waste of time and money. I also had to go without AC for most of June. Nobody can explain to me why the AC self-destructed, but apparently there are several possible causes. The young men who came to my house seemed earnest and pleasant, and I have heard good things about Moon Air. My experience with them was unfortunately disappointing.

Bought a LivingSocial deal for two tune ups. They came out pretty quick after I made the appointment. They ended up having to replace the motor in one of our units. Less than an hour after they left the unit failed. The next morning I called them and they came back out and fixed it again. Problem wasn't their fault, some screw snapped in half. Service tech was knowledgable and friendly. Overall we were pleased.

$90 just to come out, and that's not including doing any work! Their "tune up" costs $110 (and that's on sale, normally it's over $200), yet they don't know what the definition of tune up is, as they don't actually do anything. I tried to explain to the lady that tune up means to make adjustments and fix things, yet she kept calling it a tune up yet contradicting herself by saying they don't make any repairs or improvements during the tune up. If you want to spend a lot of money to get your HVAC looked at, but not fixed, then by all means.
