Terrible experience. Their office must not communicate with the teams or are complete idiots. I've never had such a backwards experience. Got charged for something I didn't even ask for and they were extremely rude about and didn't apologize for the mistake they made. I use Heat Wave now and they are far cheaper and their service has been amazing with every call.

Estes Oil is the worst company I have ever dealt with. The company was chosen by the builder of my home so I stuck with them. At first, I did not have any issues with them up until recently. I received a delivery in October 2021 and I usually got deliveries at most every 3-5 months. Typically, my deliveries were around $350 each time. From October - January no one was living in my house and the pilot was set to 55 degrees. Estes delivered in January 2022 saying that I needed 190gallons (mind you, no one was living in the home) and charged me $5/gallon so my bill was $950!
They tried to tell me that they should have delivered in November but waited until January and that is why it is so much yet I have never needed a delivery within a month from each other in the 4 years I have been living there. They also tried to tell me the price per gallon would be lower if I used more oil. yet for some reason I needed my tanks filled because I used so much oil?
I had been laid off due to Covid and when I called to speak to them because my card was on autopay Angela was extremely rude. However, because my card was on autopay previous I understood why they attempted a partial payment and she informed me my card would be taken off of autopay that day and that if the bill was not paid within 90 days it would go to collections.
Then again, a month later my card was charged again and when I called and spoke to Leann, she informed me my car was NOT on autopay so there was no reason for it to be charged but I needed to call back and speak with Angela on the following weekday. When I called, Angela immediately asked if it was me and then started claiming she did nothing wrong before our conversation even started.
She raised her voice to me, told me that she never said any of the information previously stated and then continuously hounded me on how I was going to pay the rest of my bill if I don't have a job. When I explained to her that I was in the process of getting a new job she yelled "They are hiring on every corner. how do you not have a job yet!?". Eventually I convinced her to let me speak with the owner Kate who was just as rude.
She didn't seemed phased by Angela speaking to a customer that way, told me that Angela knows what she is doing so she doesn't believe what I am saying and then also hounded me about paying my bill. When I told her that Leann also confirmed by car was not on autopay she told me she did me a courtesy of answering my call on the weekend and made a mistake.
I would stay away from this company. Besides the ridiculously high prices, I have NEVER experience such horrible customer service. I could see paying extra if the people were worth it but I am not sure what you would be paying any extra money for. I am so shocked by the way they run their company and warn you to stay away before you run into an issue yourself.

Thank you again Estes Oil & Propane. Our heat went out last night around 1am and to take it easy on them, I waited to call until around 6:30am. They had a tech out to our house by 7am and our system was up and running by 7:30am. Thank you Estes, thank you tech Charlie! Great response time and great customer service!

They are thieves! Beware! They delivered more propane than I requested (100$ minimum in Maine). They delivered 435$ worth and sent me a bill! I asked them to come pick up the tanks the next day (with the propane still in them). They told me they would charge me to pick up the tanks and would not credit me for the propane that they had delivered the day before.
I had the tanks disconnected by another company who was charging $2.00 a gallon less. Then they sent me another bill for propane they say they delivered AFTER the tanks were disconnected. They are not capable of doing an honest business RUN!

I have had Estes for 3 years. Their service is fantastic. They just did a yearly maintenance. Sent me a calendar invite was on time without any issues. Last season my power vent was making a strange noise Estes was there within hours of my call. Always answers the phone does not matter time or day. I would highly recommend Estes for their heating and cooling contractor

I have lived in York since 1986, and owned and lived in four different homes as a customer of Estes Oil. I was pleased with Estes service especially with their Blue Ribbon Plan. Estes is a wonderful company! We not only have our oil delivery with them, but also had our HVAC system replaced. They are always on time, professional and courteous. Their employees are an absolute pleasure to work with. Over our time working with Estes, they've helped us save money and even found problems that other companies had missed in the past during routine cleanings. We are extremely pleased with the level of service we receive and definitely recommend them!

After having my furnace break and oil spill into my duct work Estes came out and told me I would need an entire new furnace. The following day they came back to my house while I was at work and proceeded to allow others to enter my house WITHOUT my permission to look at my furnace and ductwork. after receiving a second opinion I was told that I do not need an entire furnace, I just need to fix the broken pieces and it can be done for thousands of dollars less than I was quoted.

I have been a customer of Estes Oil since 2000. A few years ago they started offering a service called Blue Ribbon Protection. It covered the components of my entire heating system if something were to go wrong. Recently, I started to notice the unmistakable smell of fuel oil when I entered my basement. Estes sent a tech to check things out. He found that my oil tank had developed a pinhole and was in fact leaking.
They scheduled to replace my tank immediately. It is hard to describe the peace of mind when I was told all costs (somewhere over $1500) would be covered by the Blue Ribbon Protection Plan. I do not buy oil from Estes Oil, I buy service and peace of mind. And that is worth a lot!

I recently had a new furnace, water heater, and oil tank. The team at Estes did a phenomenal job! Todd appeared to be the lead installer, helped by Tyler and Cole. This job took a full two days. The old tank was in a tight space and I was worried about it's getting out without marking walls or some spillage. Oil was pumped out (I forget the gentleman's name who did this and the haul away work) and there was no problem.
Perhaps anyone can put in a new system but I appreciated the respect they showed our property. The new set up was perfectly done and it streamlined and sleek. Tyler installed the new thermostat and made sure there were no marks or grease spots left on the wall. Plus he wore booties on the rugs. Todd was great. He made sure everything was cleaned up daily.
Clearly Cole was experienced in the technical aspects and he worked great with Todd. Todd was a great mentor for the guys. He modeled good customer service and made sure the other guys understood it's more than just installing a furnace. Lastly, Todd and company did a great job filling in the foundation, the new system had a smaller footprint to the outside and he made sure nothing was going to get into the house. I would highly recommend Estes and this team in particular.

I am pleased to post this positive review of Estes Oil and Propane. We have been a heating customer (propane) for several years but we decided to put in a "split" unit into our home so we could have AC on those few but very hot days in the summer. The whole process was extremely easy: We met with the representative, he presented us with an estimate and we arranged to have the unit put in while we were out of town (we were gone several days). When we came back, the unit was up, there was no trace of construction, the house was cool and we were very happy! Thank you for such excellent and professional service!

When we converted from electric to oil heat, my Dad gave me great advice. He said "It doesn't cost any more to go first class. Call Estes." He meant that I could count on excellent service, friendly people, knowledgeable technicians, emergency repair service 24/7, and budget friendly plans. He was right! We've had our boiler replaced by Estes Oil & Propane, had technicians come to our house immediately to fix boiler issues, and we have never run out of oil. Great company! Awesome people!

My family is not doing well. Esties Oil had us go without any way to fully properly shower in over 1 mounth. we have two elderly people in our home that haven't showered properly because of Estes takes to long. I myself have a medical issue that is urgent I need the hot watter to try to heal/ keep it clean. any outher method is hard for me I'. m in a lot of pain I really hurt myself when I tried to Chace them down yesterday day when thay pulled out of the driveway and now I'm in worse pain do to the physical stress it took on my body I hope I dont have to revisit the ER because of this. THARE IS NO REASON WHY THAY CANT TRY TO GET HOT WATTER B4 THAY LEAVE and what about somthing temporary common its not rocket science put a part in that fits it's been over 1 mounth and menny maintenance men came over to wt? have a smoke brake? thare defiantly blowing smoke at me by telling us its good temporarily and days go by I'm calling and calling WTF!

We have used Estes since we moved to York in 1999. They are friendly, prompt and respond quickly in an emergency. We have had furnace break down and hot water heater blow on separate occasions and they always come to our rescue. They have one of the best home insurance plans I have ever seen. We will always use Estes!

Been a propane customer for several years. However, a couple of years back Estes decided to charge a large annual rental fee for their tank while continually pitching me oil sales. Estes oil prices are much higher than all competitors I tried. I ended up closing my propane service a few months ago and have not received a refund on the unused product or prorated rental fee. Also, I have always experienced an issue with Estes accounts payable process. I was continually doubled billed for years and had to call each time to confirm my account was in good order.

Over a year ago, a technician left an alligator clip on the shut off after servicing our oil burner and the burner ran for over 2 weeks non stop! We were away and when we returned the house was so hot that it melted crayons in a desk, (Crayola crayons melt at 120-147 degrees F!) The heat lifted vinyl counter and tile surfaces plus burned through all of our oil!
We asked them to replace the oil, due to their negligence and the company was oppositional about doing it. We did not ask for compensation for any of the other damages. They eventually replaced the oil but it took several calls and visits from me for them to do it. This Spring we called for an oil delivery and were told we were no longer a customer! We paid on time, didn't carry a balance and THEY dropped US! No notice, no explanation! Horrible business ethics.be wary!

As an automatic delivery customer on a budget plan (I highly recommend both), it has made for an uneventful winter with my heating bills which is a great thing! I was able to budget for my payments each month and never have to worry about an unexpected oil bill. Most importantly, I trust that Estes has my best interests at heart. We were running on heating oil fumes during a cold snap and couldn't get our regular oil company out to the house for a week. I called Estes on New Year's Day and they came out the next day. After we had the tank filled, the furnace stopped running at about three in the afternoon. I called Vicki again, and Dan came out not two hours later to get the boiler back online. Thanks to Estes, we dodged a real bullet! Great service and good folks- they have a new regular customer.

Awful! Called them to get emergency oil delivered, it's 5 degrees out and what kind of compassion do they have? None! "NOT TODAY!" Is the only answer you get when you say I'm looking to get a emergency oil delivery and we have an account with you. We're almost empty and now trying to find anyone else! The first women I spoke with was very kind and said they could deliver today but after that second nasty woman we'll find someone else.

Used them for a few of years and won't be using them anymore. They put me on a service plan that wasn't accurate and I ended up paying almost $500 in one fee at the end. I called to pay for a bill I received in the mail and they had no idea what the amount was for, They also charged me for service calls each year that I never used and no one made me aware of it. BewAre. That is a rip off. Also, at times, their oil cost more than other companies in the area. Please read between the lines if you do a "budget" plan.

I purchased 2 brand new oil furnaces from Este's oil in the past 5 years (separate locations), I use both oil and pellets and haven't had a need for oil delivery over the last 2 years at my residence and had a separate single delivery from a cheaper company the last time I did. Este's refused to come and service/clean the furnaces that I paid them to install. This used to be a company I recommended to friends/family, now it's a company I'll make sure to tell them to stay clear of.

I've used this company for more than a decade and will not be doing so in the future. The treat my business (and I'm guessing other customers') as a guaranteed annuity versus a customer who actually deserves service. Their workers have provided service that harmed more than helped -- and created more service calls for them. Once and it feels like a mistake -- more than that and it seems like the way they do business.
