Danny the A/C technician at Scaran Oil on Staten Island performed excellent yearly service on my air conditioning units today. He is very knowledgeable and professional. He answered all my questions with patience. He is a tremendous asset to the Scaran corporation. GK

My first time switching to Scaran. My service was completed by Brandon G. He was friendly, professional, knowledgeable and most important thorough. He found 3 areas to improve my system and took care of them. Nothing was broken but he put the time in to bring it to an efficient level. I am Very pleased with being a new client for SCARAN.

Needed new furnace after Ida, bought from Costco and they were the contractor that did the work. Would definitely use them again! Work was done as promised, Anthony worked with us to make sure everything went smoothly!

My parents had a pipe burst and Joe E and Alex from Scaran were so nice and helpful. They did a great job, no mess kept the damage to the wall to a minimum. Couldn't ask for nicer guys to show up. They were so patient and professional.

I contacted Scaran to come and evaluate a problem I had with my HVAC system. I just moved in to the property. When the technician arrived he told me he recognized the address and already knew the problem I was having was something they attempted to fix in the past with the previous owner and they would not be able to help me. He spent about 10 minutes explaining to me what they thought was possibly wrong and left. Scaran still sent me a 200 bill for the visit.

When I contacted them through phone they informed me that I still had to pay for the visit because they don't make visits for free. I think this is unfair because if they already knew it was a problem they couldn't fix then why not tell me over the phone instead of coming here? The technician clearly said he recognized the address and knew it wasn't a problem they could address.

Scaran has been great with their service and maintenance. They always do great work and are prompt and priced daily for parts and service!

I rarely if ever leave reviews of any kind - but PAUL from Scaran was incredibly professional friendly n knowledgeable- he repaired the noise that was coming from the central air unit. Anthony first came to my home, very professional and had a sense of humor! He was HONEST and explained everything and gave me options unlike others that lied, over priced and didnt even bother to call back, so I went with Scaran. Today the electrician and AC/Heat team came and worked very hard, did a great job and were very professional and nice and explained everything.

The electrician also noticed some electrical problems that he pointed out and fixed out of safety concern, he was Anthony from Plaza Electrical and did not overcharge. Thank you Scaran for the great team and professionalism!

Great response to my Father in laws broken AC. He's 89 and his house was over 90 degrees on a 100 degree day. They showed up on time and got the cold air blowing again and my father in law was blown away how professional the tech was. Thank you. Service: AC repair

After receiving a pre-arrival call Brandon G. arrived bright and early (personable, respectful, mask on, informed us he was vaccinated) and completed a thorough maintenance of our air conditioner/condenser unit. He remembered previously servicing our hvac system. Worked from arrival to completion and was done quickly. He answered a few of my questions about other services so he knows his company and what they offer. He represents Scaran well - an asset to the company.

Recently had our Spring Checkup and both Steve T and John B were very knowledgeable, courteous and efficient. They had to troubleshoot one of those infamous "intermittent noises" and were able to both figure out what was causing it and resolve the issue - and save me some money in the process. Best of both worlds. Highly recommend Scaran for these types of service. And if you can ask for these two fellas you'll be in good shape!

It nice to share when you are "Wowed" when a company not only does a great job, but the service professional is super pleasant, knowledgeable, patient, helpful, explains everything and you feel comfortable/safe having them inside your home during a difficult time. Our family was very fortunate to have Lou from Scaran in our home today and he did a fantastic job.

After getting multiple proposals for replacing my 20+ year old furnace and AC compressor, I decided to go with Scaran and I am extremely happy that I did. They were beyond professional, courteous, and worked diligently to get the job done a timely manner. So far so good. Wpuld definitely recommend

Today we had our yearly maintenance check for our heating & AC. Our service technicians were Brandon & Lou. I was so impressed with their professionalism throughout the process. They replaced my air filter and when they saw that nothing was labeled for my heating system, they took the initiative to label everything in case a need would arise. They clearly communicated next steps I may need to take with my boiler shut off and water heaters. I also appreciated that they wore masks, gloves and carried a spray bottle because of Covid. Excellent service today!

I scheduled a routine maintenance for my heating system and was very satisfied with the service I received from technician Brandon G. He not only performed the maintenance checklist but cleaned up all the dust left behind from the thorough cleaning he did. He also took the time to label all gas and water shut off valves. Lastly he patiently answered all my questions. I requested Brandon for our AC maintenance visit. Highly recommend both him and Scaran.

Do yourself a favor and steer clear. Entire system is 3.5 years old. This is the 4th time in 9 days it has broken down and every time scaran has come to "fix it". First charged me $300 to "blast out the system".didnt work. Came back 2 more times. Didnt work. 3rd time the guy tells me I need all new vents and a new return. THEY INSTALLED IT.WHY NOW IS THIS BEING DISCOVERED?!?! Do yourself a favor and call a company that isn't trying to cause you to go broke

I've been a customer of Scaran's for almost 9 years now. I pay close to $500 a year for a 24/7 maintenance contract on my AC/Heater with humidifier. My heater stopped working tonight, Friday around 5:30pm. I called them at 6pm and after many rings, I finally spoke to someone at an after hours answering service. They told me a technician would call me back. 3 hours later I still did not receive a call back.

I called once again a little after 9pm. Many rings later the same afterhours person picked up. They told me no one was on call now. 9pm on a Friday night! I pay a maintenance contact for 24/7 support! It's time to look elsewhere!

We have used Scaran services for years for our 2 family house. We have 2 gas furnaces, hot water heater, central air for the 2nd floor and 3 ductless units for the first floor AC. Scaran services all of them. When it was time to replace the water heater and then the central AC Scaran did the job. Brandon was here today to do seasonal maintenance on the furnaces and water heater to get ready for winter. All done in a timely manner to our satisfaction. Can recommend their work

I call scaran because the company has been around forever. My dad used them and I continue to call them for service. Never had a problem. Even if you have to call them back for something, they always come through for me.

We had emergency service that needed to be done. Scaran was recommended and they arrived right away. We had to get a new boiler and hot water maker. They came in the morning and worked about 11 hours straight and even worked outside in the snow. The young men were so polite and courteous! Never asked for anything the entire day! They did an excellent job and even gave me more space for my washer and dryer. All trash was removed and left clean! We are so grateful and will definitely use them for all our plumbing needs! Thank you, Scaran!

I want to commend Scaran on their superior service. I discovered that my water heater was leaking on Friday afternoon of Labor Day weekend and I thought I was in trouble. I called and the tech came within an hour to assess the situation, and of course I needed a new water heater due to a crack. The holiday did not infringe at all on the speed of service: Scaran came at 9am the following morning (Saturday) with a new water heater and I was back up and running by 11am.

The technicians are friendly, knowledgeable and professional. Couldn't ask for better service and I felt that the price was very fair as well, given the extras they include (like pan and alarm). Thanks, Scaran!

I always call these guys when I have any issues with my HVAC system. Without a service contract they came out the same day. I appreciate that! The cost wasn't too bad. The part cost me more than the service call. That said the techs are knowledgeable, professional and skilled. The dispatcher and the service department were great also and called me to let me know the tech was on the way. Great company and will definitely use them again.

I am writing this review for a friend who asked that I help her out: I bought a new unit for $8,000. The first week the unit broke. I told the owner that I have a medical condition and cannot be without air because I couldn't breathe. They sent a tech in the afternoon. The techs were knowledgable and considerate of my condition. After one week the unit broke again at 1 am.

It got fixed by 1pm the next days. This is one week after the unit was installed. I asked the company for a price adjustment because I feel the unit is faulty. They told me that is not an option. I feel a company in business this long should accommodate a request such as this, considering my health issues and anxiety over waiting for a tech to come out. I'm disappointed in management.

Honestly, we could not have chosen a better company to install our new Lennox Central AC system. After getting 5 quotes from different companies on the Island, Scaran offered us the best bang for our buck. The AC unit operates like a dream and their customer service couldn't be more responsive. I even told Anthony, the sales manager, that each time I see their turquoise colored trucks, I feel a little bit better about life. GREAT company and I highly recommend them. When you spend $12k for a system, you better choose the right people. I did.

Don't bother with Scaran. They are nasty and will overcharge you. They quoted me $7000 for a heating unit that I had installed for $4000 for the same machine on the quote. And I was a prior customer who had a heating and air conditioning unit installed for another property on Staten Island, They should learn customer service.

Just had them put in central air. in a 1950's center hall colonial with no duct work and only a crawl space attic. Expected a total mess and weeks of construction. They designed a great system and foresaw every problem. Very knowledgeable. Took 4 days to do 8 rooms. and not a speck of dust when they were done. Might cost a little more than some others, but worth every penny.

Needed Scaran's plumbing services this time and they fixed 3 problems in less than an hour. Professional and knowledgeable technicians. They worked on the heating system and did a nice job cleaning up the area. They guarantee the work and are responsive when called. In the long run they are worth the few extra dollars it may cost for them. It's an honest company.

My first experience with Scaran today was as good as it gets. They showed when they said they would, did very professional work and absolutely went above and beyond. Cost was very fair and they left the place as neat as a pin. While I was not on site for the work, I'm told the technicians were accommodating, professional and downright pleasant. I'm one happy customer and would absolutely recommend them. Oh - and the AC is working like a champ. Way to go Scaran!

2 days later my AC started leaking again. I called Scaran back, they sent someone out right away. The technician told me I need a new unit or I could have them make me a new drip tray that would cost me around $800. We told them we would like to have the estimate done for the new unit and also to have an exact price for the tray. We were told we would get a call the next day to schedule an appointment for the estimates. Never got a call back. Paid over $200 to fix my unit for 2 days. Very unprofessional to not follow up and do what you say your going to do.

I had an issue with my tankless water heater and decided to use their services. I called and explained the problem, they assured me that they can fix the problem and someone would be coming shortly. They called Slightly before their arrival. The technician was an older gentleman, but he knew his stuff. He was unfamiliar with the brand, so it took him slightly less then 2 hours to diagnose and fix the problem.

Unfortunately it went out a few hours later, leaving me with a cold shower. I called them back first thing in the morning and explained what had happened. They told me they would come out right away and stay until the problem was corrected, mind you it was new years eve. Finally, there was 3 employees who shared their experience and knowledge and git my hot water back.

The employee are friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. The only negative is the service charge of $99.00 just to come out to your house, this doesn't include parts, labor, etc. They kept their promise and back up their work, I would recommend to anyone who needs this service.
