Founded in 1945 by Frank Mallek, Tri-City was purchased by Denis and Carole Virnig in 1974. Denis and Carole owned Tri-City Services since 1974, over half of Tri-City's life. Since Denis' passing in late 2009, two of their three children, who grew up in the business, now work the business. Andrea (Virnig) Jensen is President and Owner along with her husband Andy.
Andrea grew up in the family business and joined the business full time after graduating from UW-Stevens Point with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration. Andy started his career in HVAC in 1997 after attending Milwaukee Area Technical College for HVAC. He has 24 years of experience and is a great asset to our team.
As we move further into the cold winter months, the strain of constant use on your furnace is only going to increase. As it does, it's important to recognize that the chances of your furnace breaking. Modern air conditioning systems require, for the most part, fairly little thought. Karl was right on time and very professional! He kept me informed along the way what he was doing and his knowledge is incredible. Informed me of a lot of different things. I most definitely will be using the service for all of my air conditioning and heating needs. I'm very grateful for the incredible service that I got. On a scale from 1 through 10 I would give an 11!

Karl Coyer was the tech guy who responded to my call when my furnace went out. He did his diagnostic stuff while explaining to me what he was looking for. Turned out my blower motor went out and my thermostat was not set up properly. The next day he was at my house with new motor installed and reset up my thermostat. I am super happy with everything he did. Turns out my furnace is on the old side and will need more servicing to ensure proper running. He explained what needs replacing and updating. I will be using tri-City this spring for my upgrades and my AC check up, and I will request Karl Coyer.

Tri-City has been wonderful to work with. We have a 100 yr old house that is still using a boiler and radiators and they've done a wonderful job of taking care of the system for us. Plus, we have a split zone HVAC heat pump that we use to cool the place, since we have no ducting, and they have done a wonderful job with it as well. I would definitely recommend them.

My furnace went out unexpectedly on one of the coldest winter nights and Tri City Services was available for my call and had a service tech within the hour. Scott V. Arrived and got the furnace going. He was professional and thorough. Then comes summer! My air conditioner would not start and Karl C. Was in Point and was able to come after his call was finished.
He was also knowledgeable and gave me tips for operation, was professional and efficient; everything you would expect from a service tech or businessperson that is rarely seen these days. Tri City offers excellent service which is refreshing.

From the time I made initial call, TriCity was friendly and professional and could have someone at my house within 24 hours. Jordan was prompt, thorough, and explained things in a way I could understand. He seems to love what he does. Overall, I would highly recommend this business to anyone in the Rapids area. We are new to this area and recently used Tri-City Services to convert our water heater and furnace from LP over to natural gas as we just had a new natural gas line ran to the outside of our home. It was a great experience from the initial call, and yes they do have someone who answers the phone when you call! They came out to our home on the date and at the exact time they said they would to look at the job and gave us a price.
The job was done on a date that we chose, for the exact cost they had quoted and the serviceman was on time. The service tech did a great job. Very personable and professional, put on booties as it was a sloppy day out as not to get our floors dirty and cleaned up after himself when the work was completed. I also received a call two days later to see if ever thing was going ok and if I was satisfied with the service. I managed a customer service department for a large Utility for over 25 years and this is the kind of service that we all miss. Great job Kim and Jordan John Mahoney

Karl did a great job. I can't say enough good about Karl or Tricity. Our geothermal system was only 13 years old and installed by another company in Wausau. One of the main parts wore out and Karl was so knowledgeable and was able to replace the part and get it up and running. Thank you! Services: HVAC repair, AC repair
