We couldn't get the new AC unit to turn on after the winter. BH&SM sent Erick Dickenson to check it out. I heard him comment "Something is wonky here." He found the information on the manufacturer's website was out of date and incorrect with 2017 information. Not giving up he called the manufacturer and got their tech support to walk him through the 2021 wiring for a 2 speed compressor and fixed the problem. He just would not give up. We want him to do all of our service if possible. He was great, quiet and persistent. Even found and fixed a burned out humidifier canister.

I want to do a shout out to Bend Heating. The electric floor heating system in our master bath quit working. I contacted the electrician contractor that had installed it a few years before, but never got a response. Then, on advice from a neighbor, I contacted Bend Heating. I left a message but expected to get no response from them either. To my surprise, they called me back the next day.
Although they didn't work on electric floor heat systems (they only work on hydronic systems), the caller (I believe his name was Mike) discussed the problem with me and answered many of my questions. Based on our discussion, he suspected the controller was faulty and probably should be replaced. That was something I could do myself (I had already checked into that), so I proceeded and, yes, that solved the problem.
We now have warm floors again in our bath. Although Mike couldn't guarantee that would solve the problem, he was patient enough to work through it with me and provide a 'suggestion.' I can't be more pleased. Bend Heating gets my thumb's up and will definitely be my go-to contractor for all future heating needs. By the way, the neighbor who referred me to them feels the same way from her experience. Thank you Bend Heating - you're the best.

Over the top, excellent customer service starts upon first contact. It's surprising all that the sheet metal department can do for us. So versatile in so many areas. My recent visit was with ROB. As soon as I presented my issue along with a photo I could see his creative wheels turning to find and create a solution. Very organized, competent and managed our time wisely. The problem was fixed much quicker than I ever imagined it could be and at an extremely reasonable price! I highly recommend this company!

I called on Bend Heating to fix my heat pump on January 18th this past year since they had installed the new heat pump in March of 2020. They were super responsive and I thought they had me fixed up. Gave them a 5 star review on Yelp. However, my heat and AC kept shutting off intermittently shortly afterwards. Every time my heat or HVAC went out, it became harder to get them back out and I was told they found no record of my address in their system.
I became convinced the wiring was at fault and repeatedly asked them to investigate but I was told everything checked out and they would reset it, or one time when I insisted that only worked for awhile until it tripped again, they said it had too much antifreeze and that was tripping it. Finally when my heat pump froze over, they said it just needed a new cord but they couldn't come back out for another 3.5 weeks.
What made matters worse is this after I once again had to go through the long process of giving them the original installation warranty information because they had no record of anyone coming out either the past week or the other 3 times. I finally hired another company - even though it was covered under warranty - I just couldn't continue to go on with intermittent HVAC. AccuAir came out just 2 days later and found that the low voltage had never been connected so that's why the unit kept shorting out.
I paid 400.00 that would have been covered by Bend Heating under warranty but it became clear that warranty work was the lowest priority. Before writing this, I let the company know how disappointed I was and received no response. If they made any effort at all to try to resolve this issue or even return my email, I wouldn't have had to leave a bad review. which I hate to do.
Running a business now is difficult and mistakes happen- I get it, but a heat pump that was never connected correctly in the first place was a mistake that should have been corrected after the first visit or at least the second. It took the 5th visit with another company to correct it.

Our home heater went out a few days ago. Called Bend Heating and sheet metal. Samantha (Sam) took our info and said someone would be out that day. John called 30 minutes prior to arrival. I worked with Randall. He told me it was extremely hard to find air/heater units at this time and also hard to find the help to get them installed. He worked very hard, non stop to find a unit for our home without heat. Finally found one in Billings, Montana with the help of the Carrier Crew as well. We couldn't be happier with the job Bend Heating did on our place. Our house presented some real installation challenges for their team and the 3 day installation literally took place during the extreme heat wave. The Bend Heating installers were just wonderful to work with. Never complaining and just pressing their shoulder into the challenges until the job was done. Also, not only was their service exceptional, but their price was roughly 30% less than the competitive bid we received from Mountain Heating and Cooling. There is no question, my wife and I would 100% recommend them and we will absolutely use them again.

Bend Heating recently replaced the furnace in our second home. Despite being overseas for business arranging all with Randall and Scott was as easy as talking to them in person. Both are extremely responsive and found a solution to work around a very tight schedule and the needs of our tenants. This allowed us to take advantage of an Energy Trust cash incentive.

Had Wade come out and give us a proposal after getting a couple other quotes in town. Very professional and talked us through everything, recommended a deep clean of our ducts as well (since who knows when those were last cleaned!) Scott and his crew then came in and installed everything - again very professional, great communication when things were taking a bit longer, and just made sure we were 110% happy with our service. This review is important as it involves having a poor install but then perseverance to make it right. I had what I thought was an easy installation. After 20 years, I decided to upgrade my electric 5 Ton Furnace and 5 ton A/C. Randall came out and gave me a bid. The two installers were, I think, more interested in getting it done than doing it right.
Who knew that this install of a variable speed electric furnace was complicated? Regardless, they initially were unable to make it variable. Finally Scott Bilyeu, after calling Carrier and more visits sent Cliff out who fixed it. They were apologetic, professional, and seemed dedicated to make it right. I would highly recommend them.

I recently used Bend Heating and Sheet Metal for some work on a remodel. The estimator came out, and was very knowledgeable about the work to be done, and gave me a solid not-to-exceed estimate. The day of the work, the installer came promptly on time and worked hard all day on what ended up being a complex set of tasks. He was very professional as well as polite, and he worked with with other subs in the house. In the end, the work exceeded my expectations. I'll be using them again for future work.

Good listener and thorough in his info backed up by detailed email information a layman can understand. I interviewed 5 companies in Central Oregon both Bend & Redmond and he is my top pick. I hired Bend Heating to install Daikin ductless heat pumps with Ecobee WiFi Thermostats in our 4 plex in Bend. Each apartment needed it's own heating/cooling control however they spec'd out and installed a system that does not allow each unit to heat or cool depending on what is being called for. The system either operates with all units heating or all units cooling.
We had no idea this was the case. We were trusting they knew what we needed. This is a big problem as during the spring and fall when days are warm but nights are cold tenants cannot make their living space comfortable unless we change all the setting from heat to cool or vice versa. The first problem and probably the biggest is that the system is not designed for our application as it does not provide the desired comfort for each of the 4 apartments independently. Secondly, no one at Bend Heating had any experience with installing, setting up or programming the Ecobee thermostats.
I had to do that myself and the technicians who service the system are still clueless as to how to access the thermostats and interpret the reports. Thirdly, they took much longer to install the system than what was planned and pulled key personnel off the job to work on other projects while lesser qualified personnel finished up. It was a painful experience.
When I explained these shortcomings to Scott Zettle, the owner, he has simply ignored the situation and 3 years later has not done anything to attempt to correct the problems or suggest a solution. The bottom line is that this job was more than they could handle. In general, if the job is routine and the system is simple they are known to do a decent job.
In this case they were not qualified to design and install my system and have done nothing to correct their flawed design. For that reason I will not hire them again and thus the 2 star rating.

This company is great! Fast service and fair prices. Would recommend them for any heating needs. I always appreciate not being ripped off. I felt that Bend Heating did a good job of explaining my options to me for repair, instead of insisting I go with the most expensive fix right off the bat. Quality people.
