Our heating bill was enormous last January and our former heating company didn't give us satisfactory service, so on the recommendation of a friend I called Clawson Heating. Phil Johnson came out right away to help us figure out what was the problem. Not only did he give us detailed and educational information and a fair estimate, he also told us that our heat pump hadn't even been installed to code and was getting to the end of its economic life.
By this time, in the middle of our extreme cold spell, we didn't dare run our old heat pump because our heating bill would have been so high (over $800/month the way the old heat pump was working). Yikes! In the end, we decided to get a new unit. Yes, it was a huge expense, but we really had no other choice. Carly Moore and Phil did everything they could to get us a new unit because except for a couple of space heaters, we were without heat for over a month in the extreme cold. Clawson's put us on a priority basis; supply chain issues weren't their fault. Finally, in March. we were able to get our new heat pump installed. Tyler Hanefeld and his crew got here early in the morning, and stayed until after dark getting everything working right.
The crew cleaned everything up, and left things clean as a whistle. Everything is now working flawlessly and our heating bill went 'way down. I only have the highest praise for everyone at Clawson's. Their responsiveness, friendliness, work ethic, and customer service is outstanding. I don't have enough superlatives when it comes to reviewing this company.

Clawson's hearing was so professional! Tyler and the crew that did our installation kept our garage so clean. They were so polite and did a fantastic job. I would recommend them to everyone. The price was right for a new furnace and ac unit. From getting quotes to scheduling the installation was super easy. The office staff was so nice. They even surprised us with a gift basket.

I have an older heat pump system that I inherited when moving in 6 months ago. Clawson came out the day after I called. They placed the home on "Emergency Mode", so I would be warm. They advised what parts needed to be ordered & scheduled their return. A few days later, they came out & did the repair. Their technician Philip is wonderful! He's very thorough & polite. I highly recommend Clawson for all your HVAC needs. I will be calling them again for future needs.

I've had this company out to look at my vintage furnace twice. Once (a year ago), for minor help, and a year later for a seized motor. Both times, very responsive, and good customer relations. First visit, I was warned about the motor, and suggested a full replacement. No sales pitch, or manipulation, just honest info about my options, and efficient, experienced help. They'll definitely be getting my business, from here on out.

In September of 2021, we decided to have our 17-year-old furnace, A/C. and water heater replaced. We thought it would be smart and perhaps more economical to have it all done by one company at one time. We had used Clawson to service our furnace over the past couple of years and have been very pleased with the level of thoroughness of the inspections and quality of maintenance we received.
When we met with our sales rep. Chris, he cautioned that if we waited to have any of these items replaced, we would likely face much higher prices and/or supply chain issues. We asked if there were any concessions Clawson could offer since we were replacing not one but 3 items. Chris said he would look into it. So, we somewhat reluctantly agreed to sign the contract on the spot. Later, in speaking with a neighbor (who also had his system replaced recently) he mentioned that he felt the price quoted was very high even given the fact that the brand is Trane.
But to be fair, Trane is one of the highest rated brands in the industry. He recommended always getting at least 3 bids for a job. We usually do that, so this was our mistake. The install was set for early 2022. On the day of our installation, the guys arrived on time and were professional, respectful and took steps in ensure that our garage and other areas were left clean.
A couple of weeks following the install, we received a coupon from Clawson in our email for up to $1,550.00 off of a new "high efficiency" A/C unit. Woohoo! Since we had just had the install completed, we thought it would be worth it to see if this discount could be applied to the new A/C unit we purchased. After all, we had made a significant investment.
But when I called to inquiry about it, I was told that it only applies to units with a higher SEER rating than the unit we had. However, this detail was not included on the email "coupon". Details matter. Also, it would be helpful to have had a detailed bid with prices listed for each component. That way, customers can compare their options. Did we end up getting what we paid for? Only time will tell.

From ease of booking an appointment, to the friendliness of the customer service team and install team, I don't think I've ever been happier with a company. Phillip was our tech, he made us feel safe and taken care of. Our heat was out for a few days, it was a tricky fix and he was able to get it up and running for my kids and I. Clawson installed a new furnace for me on 1/18/2022. I had gone 74 days with no heat. My home warranty company and their assigned contractor is a separate issue. Clawson came to my rescue and rushed my install. The office staff did a great job in setting up the job. We were incredibly impressed with every aspect of the service provided by Clawson. Wish we had called them the first time as our experience with another company was a nightmare and Clawson was awesome! Philip was the technician who helped fix our furnace. This guy is a wizard and made my wife feel very well taken care of. He explained everything in detail and knew exactly what he was doing.

Only great things to say about Clawson Heating & Cooling. They've serviced our furnace for years since being installed by the prior owner nearly 20 years ago. Always responsive and always professional. We had a nagging issue with our furnace and Clawson was diligent in diagnosing and resolving the issue. Took a few rounds because it was a complicated issue but they were relentless in pursuit of a fix. Brent, the service manager, worked on it until it was resolved.

Pretty disappointed. I know Clawson has great reviews, which is why I had them service my furnace a few years back, and why I am giving 2 rather than 1 star. My furnace stopped working in February so I had a tech come take a look. He seemed confused and uncertain, and kept mentioning needing diagnostics from the office to help figure it out. I was charged for a service as well quoted for a new igniter and control board, but told there's no promise it will resolve my issue and I may actually need a new furnace.
Then it was explained how old the furnace was as well the bad condition it was in. I was also told those components needed to be ordered and there was some lead time, so I'd be without heat for a bit. I rounded up electric and indoor propane heaters for the house and really jacked up my electric bill in the meantime. What I ended up getting after the weekend was communication from Clawson, trying to set up a visit to provide quotes for a brand new furnace.
I also learned the parts were not ordered, which was in conflict with the tech telling me they'd be ordered asap. But the end result was we were being told that we'd need a new furnace. I decided to reach out to another company who was the actual installer of the furnace years ago. 10 minutes in and the diagnosis was complete.the relay switch was tripped off and needed to be turned back on.
The tech not only was surprised the guy at Clawson didn't notice it right away, but also showed me how to turn it back on if it happened again. This other company saved us thousands in a new furnace with a simple, cheap solution. Not to mention I burned a lot of money in using space heaters while expecting Clawson was best taking care of me. I called to report the situation and was told the service manager would reach out to me, but I never received a call from Clawson. My furnace is still working just fine after a simple service from the other guys.

We are so happy with our new HVAC system. The installers were amazing and worked through horrible weather to make sure everything was done correctly. We chose them after 4 quotes and they were the best price. They worked with us 0% financing and that was just what we were looking for. The sales rep Matt was clear concise and worked to get us just what we wanted. I highly recommend them for any of you HVAC needs and service! Plus the goody bag was an unexpected plus! I used Clawson about 18 years ago to put in a new furnace at my home, then just recently to do ductless mini-splits at my business. These guys are amazing from beginning to end. Not the cheapest, but competitive, and I'd take high quality and professionalism over cheapest any day. Matt, the project coordinator, was so helpful and explained the project and limitations well, without assuming I was an idiot.
I never felt condescended to by any of the crew. They were all friendly, on-time, unrushed, etc. Shamar was part of my installation crew, and he was the real MVP for my project.he was so good at explaining things to me, patient, friendly and with such a sweet and present disposition. Do yourself a favor and skip less experienced, cheaper bids. These are the starts of Portland HVAC.

Im impressed with the whole crew at Clawsons but I'm giving a big thank you to Marnie the Installing Coordinator. She got everything scheduled and was available for questions. My emails and phone calls were answered promptly. The best part was after installation, when I didn't think my unit qualified for the state energy rebate, she did some research, got the forms and submitted them for me.

It's summertime and the heat is on this week! Perfect time for my AC to give out and start blowing warm air. My landlord called Clawson and Brent came out the very next day! Brent was able to get the problem fixed and my house cool again in a matter of 10 minutes. Brent was very knowledgeable, professional and gave wonderful customer service. He was also able to sign my landlord up for scheduled maintenances to prevent future issues. Thank you, Brent!

While my family was sequestered due to the COVID-19, our furnace stopped heating. Instead of limping along, I decided my family really needed the creature comforts to ease the time at home. After deciding on Clawson, I called and received wonderfully sincere, warm customer service from Sherry. Then, after being told my window was 2pm - 4pm, we received a knock on the door right around 2pm.
Out of respect for our repairman, my family went into their rooms to allow Brent to work safely in our home. He was kind, respectful of the situation and did a great job of resolving the issue. By the time he left, which wasn't long after he got there, we had a furnace heating our home and he left with a promise that they'd replace our filter as part of the program I signed up for. I am so thankful I decided on this company and am glad to know who I will confidently call should I have issues in the future. Thanks, Clawson. Stay well, everyone.

This is the second time we have called on Clawson Heating to work on our furnace/AC. These guys are true professionals, have showed up early (calling first) and always leave the job clean and well done. A special shout out to Erik Berg. Erik was our technician who came out for a tune up on our furnace. He noticed that the installation of our unit in the attic was improperly installed.
He documented every aspect with a report and pictures. We were able to work with the builder to get it all fixed. Erik is a true professional and deserves recognition for a job well done. We had wonderful experience today with our technician and Clawson Heating this morning. We called Tuesday morning for a service call for our furnace. First appt available was for Thursday but they would call us if something opened up earlier. Just a hour later they called to tell us they could get to us between 12 and 2pm today. The technician showed up even earlier at 11. Identified the problem, he had the part and had it fixed in less than and hour. The technician even fixed and reset our thermostat! So happy with the response time and the technicians ability to handle the problem

Absolutely amazing! These people are super professional and friendly. They were very helpful in answering all our questions. They installed a new furnace and central AC system and their work is top notch quality. We definitely recommend Clawson Heating & AC! After an extended period of time watching YouTube videos and trying to fix my furnace on my own I called Clawson. I'm acquainted with Charles Ledbury who happens to work there. Based on my relationship with Charles, I know him to be thorough, educational in his approach, (in life & business) & most importantly, honest. I called Clawson as a Vancouver resident solely based upon my respect for Charles.
In my initial conversation with Charles he indicated that it could be something simple and the basic cost of the service call would cover it. ($109.00). Worst case scenario we'd be looking at $800.00-$1,000.00 to get heat. I called to set an appointment mid morning. I was told that someone would contact me between 3-6PM same day. At roughly 4:00 PM I received a call from Eric Berg who said he was on his way from Portland and would arrive in a half hour or so based on traffic.
Almost on the dot, there was a knock at my door. Eric arrived and shook my hand while handing me his card. He had clean room shoe covers to walk into my less than ideal carpet. I have a 3 year old). After a few minutes of troubleshooting I was informed that I needed a new "board". In my mind this is that $800-$1,000 that Charles said would be worst case scenario.
The board that I needed was a bit less expensive and for a little over $600.00 I now had heat in my home! While Eric was working in my furnace he replaced an old igniter switch and upgraded something from 80volt to 120volt and said that this upgrade in all likelihood would outlast my furnace. He also took time to clean things up in my furnace that could result in future service calls.
After buttoning up my furnace he went over their warranty with me & took photos of his work which will go in my file with them for any future needs. Once the job was competed, he came in to our house and chatted it up with my wife & I. Just small talk but that 15 minutes while collecting a check makes a HUGE difference to me. Being relatable, professional, timely & honest are all important in any business so do yourself a favor and let the EXPERTS do what they do!
