After several requests for a review of the business I'm finally posting as much information that I can. Having a regular maintenance program provided by Santa Fe has been delightful. This maintenance check reveled a serious problem with the compressor and would have to be replaced with a new compressor. Price quoted seemed high for repairing a 22 year old unit that just might break down again.
The technician called the office and arraigned for their '"comfort adviser" to contact us about a complete air conditioning and heating system replacement. A meeting that evening resulted in a mid range choice of HVAC and a down payment of 40 percent before installation. Installation is scheduled and hopefully a completed review will be made at a later time resulting in more stars

Samuel was our technician this time. He showed up on time, very professional and friendly, and completed an exceptional job on our system. He recommended a few things (such as the best filter type, using tape to keep air from leaking, and tablets in the pan to keep growth from happening) and walked me through every thing very well. We have used this company for years but he, by far, has been the best tech we have had; I think he went above and beyond!

Mike from Santa Fe Air came to service our AC unit. He was very knowledgeable, up front, honest, and professional! He told me everything I needed to know and was straight to the point in a friendly manner. He told me his concerns and what we need to do to resolve our AC issues as well as a better routine to maintain our unit. I highly recommend this company and it's services!

Technician diagnosed the problem as a poor gas valve, but that we wouldn't know that was the problem until the work was performed. Called the office to discuss the price and was immediately demeaned by the owner for questioning their costs specifically that the proposed solution didn't fix the problem. Was told to "check around" and grateful I did!
Second company came out and laughed that the gas valve was the problem as the burners were still fully operational. There was simply a faulty safety switch that wasn't engaging. I am giving one star rather than zero because of the advice to check around saved me $460 in unnecessary labor and parts. Followed up with the company to inform them of both the wrong diagnosis as well as request payment back for the original service (this was originally proposed by the owner on the first conversation).
They obliged and sent back payment as well inappropriate letter accusing me of trying to get the technician to do the work on the side.why would I want someone to do the work on the side if they can't diagnose it correctly?

Update! My last visit Santa Fe signed me up for their protection plan that included servicing and tune up of ac units in spring before it gets really hot. I though "yeah right.just an excuse to say something is wrong with system", BUT I was SO wrong! John came and cleaned, tuned up and serviced both ac units and it cost me NOTHING! Not to mention John was super friendly, right on time, and super fast and efficient!
Now I know my units are clean and in great working condition right before the heat of summer! And I didn't pay a dime! It was included in the protection plan! Thank you so much Santa Fe and thank you to my sister in law for referring me to this kind, reliable and trustworthy company. Very few and far between in this area. Great experience! And I am super picky!
My sister in law recommended this company. After having to deal with quite a few shady ac/heat companies since moving to the KC area I was loosing hope. Our heat stopped working and within two hours of my call to them everything was fixed and our heat was working. It was going to be 5 degrees, so I am very happy. Really can't complain. Pricing was pretty fair.
My husband likes to work on the heater himself, but he was getting off a plane from being out of town. He knew the part was only $20 and we paid a couple hundred bucks to get it fixed but you have to consider their expenses of gas, employee, time, parts and so forth. We have no problem with the company making some money off us. Overall much better than the other companies out there that we have dealt with. And Joe the gentleman they sent to our houswas a very nice guy whom I totally trusted.

Hostile and unprofessional. A/C out with 100' heat -- tenants had to stay in hotel (at my expense). Had appointment set up with Kylie for today (Saturday). Get message from Kylie that she had talked to tenants and "everything was working okay" so she cancelled the appointment -- without talking to me. On a Friday, just before closing. In hot July.
With no option to find someone else till next week. Owner Christy answers the phone, right off the bat I get attitude. "We're closed." As in, how dare I think anyone would lift a finger one minute after closing. Says she has no appointment for me. I start to explain when she interrupts me huffily with, "You know, I'm not interested in your business.
This is too complicated." A routine misunderstanding (by YOUR employee) is too complicated? Good luck with that attitude. Seems likely that Christy is a self-important business owner who likely has very little involvement in the day-to-day operation. That's the only explanation for their 5-star ratings. There's simply no way a cranky old coot like that could be successful running it day to day.

Really glad I called Santa Fe Air! Customer service was friendly, helpful, and responsive when I made a next-day appointment. Mark came out to see why our furnace was cycling faster than normal and letting the air drop a few degrees below thermostat temperature. He was professional and courteous, and even walked me through his inspection process so I understood what he was doing.
He found the problem quickly, explained why it was causing those symptoms, and fixed it in no time. He offered the service agreement without pushing it, and (unlike other companies) gave an honest assessment of the state of my HVAC system - how many years left, what to look out for, how to maintain it well - rather than telling me it was about to fall apart and I needed to replace the whole thing ASAP. Pricing was reasonable, I would definitely call Santa Fe Air again.

Woke up with no heat in our house and immediately started to look for HVAC companies that provide service to the Johnson and Miami county areas. I came across Santa Fe Air Conditioning and Heating and took the time to read all of the reviews and was impressed with what I read. I called hoping to get a tech out the same day and I had a tech at my house within an hour of my phone call.
The tech immediately identified what the problem was, documented the work that needed to be done and said that it may have to be scheduled out within the next few days. I was pleased when they came back and said the other tech could be at my house by 2:00 (same day) to complete the work. Both techs were very knowledgeable, professional, and friendly, and completely exceeded my expectations. I'm planning on purchasing my annual maintenance plans through them now and highly recommend this company for HVAC service.

Quick! Great Customer Service! Thorough installation! Our air conditioner has been giving us problems for a couple weeks, it was just yesterday we called Santa Fe air to come out and look at it. Sadly our air conditioner was dying. Today I sit here and write this review @6pm we have a brand new one installed. The house feels great! The guys, mike and nick, were wonderful.
They were knowledgeable, hard working, and very efficient! We appreciate all the help and kindness. Replacing such a big appliance can be a hassle but luckily we fell into the write hands! Thank you Sante Fe Air!

Santa Fe has proven to be an honest and reliable company. It has been one month since we had our HVAC system installed and they definitely have treated us as valued customers. Mike C sold us the unit and at no time did he even hint as to trying to make a sale immediately. He explained thoroughly the different units (pros and cons) after asking us pertinent questions relating to our home and requirements.
A follow-up call ( i believe from the owner) was made after the unit was installed to ensure the work was done properly and the installers cleaned up everything. I highly recommend this company.

While technically I'm posting a review for Marco, I'm also leaving my opinion of Santa Fe Air Conditioning & Heating as a whole. Marco - professional, courteous, and skilled. I have nothing, but great things to say about Marco as the point man on installation of our new AC unit. The crew arrived on schedule, performed the job to a satisfactory standard and was out of our house within 3-3.5 hours.
We really didn't have to worry about anything. All our questions were answered before we had to ask them and we were left with a fully functioning new AC unit. We decided to go with a basic American Standard AC unit (SEER 13). The price wasn't the cheapest, but the combination of a quality brand and proficient crew set our minds at ease when it came to spending a little bit more than some of the other quotes. I'd go as far as saying the other quotes were not comparable. Brands like Amana, Lennox, etc are inferior products. Similarly the cheaper companies have less experienced crews. If I had to go through this process of replacing my AC again, I'd pick Santa Fe nine times out of ten.

Mark was absolutely the best. Kind, thoughtful and figured out the issue. If you choose SF, ask for Mark. I called the owner to discuss my concern with what I felt was excessive pricing and she suggested I speak to the parts manager, as she "couldn't possibly know everything" about pricing. But don't you own this business? Where's the accountability? Exceptional service by Mark, but parts seem terribly overpriced. (New generic starter board = $110 on all Google stores; $660 installed @ @225/hour for 1.25 hours means they charged $375 for this part - 3.5x the retail cost). Also a member of the annual service plan, which we will reconsider when it terminates.

Our 16 yo water heater was only giving out warm water, so time to replace before it provided only cold. Santa Fe is our go to for heat/ac, so we called them. We got the same courteous service from placing the order, to scheduling the call, to putting in the new unit and hauling away the old. We will continue to use them in the future

A friend at work recommended SFHA and I also saw that they have an excellent rating in Yelp, so I called them when our A/C became inactive overnight. I called at 8:30 and they were at my house at 10:30-11:00 the same day. You cannot beat that! The repair was priced fair and they didn't sell us anything we did not need. The staff was very good to deal with both on the phone and in my home. I will absolutely call them again for HVAC needs.
