If I could give a zero I would. Spoke to manager Rene regarding an installation of an air conditioning unit installed in 2017. From other inspections we were informed the unit it too large for the space, thus not cooling properly and consuming too much energy. Rene was extremely combative and refused to answer my questions. Ask to hear the recording of the conversation if you need proof. Not even a current customer and would never be a future costumer.

They were the most responsive; gave the best deal, and were flexible with payment options. In the Twin Cities area they are by far and away the best company for new furnace installation! They gave me a bundle deal for two furnace installs for my duplex. They basically saved me and tenants; I don't know what would have happened without them. The competition was twice as expensive and not as friendly. They are THE BEST. I APPRECIATE YOU!

Well, I purchased over 30K worth of LG split duct heating/AC units from this company after the owner Chris said to me "these units were made for home's like yours". I was NEVER in my life, as a customer, treated as HORRIBLY as this company treated me. I was intimidated and bullied by the owner as well as the service department. "You didn't understand how to use it and it was never meant as a primary heating source". 1.
Your company knew EXACTLY how my home was built when you convinced me that these units " Were made for homes like yours". IE no ductwork. If you had told me that they "break" if you use them under a certain temperature, I would never have spent over 30 THOUSAND DOLLARS on them. 2. After my son Chris J left you a poor review, which I knew nothing about, you shamed me saying "you told us you would take that review down". YOU had never spoken to me about that and then YOU GASLIGHT me and refuse to address the the fact that my unit was still under warranty and yet YOUR COMPANY would not go to bat for me.
I know you will write some condescending response about how you went "out of your way" for me which is absolutely incorrect. Nice way to treat a "Healthcare Hero". I am very certain you don't care about me a customer. The fact is, I spent over 30K and guess what?

Chris and his team were great! Our furnace went out over the weekend and Chris was there the next day to discuss pricing of a new furnace. His prices were the lowest of all the quotes we received. His team was able to come over the following day to install our new furnace. We are so grateful for Chris and his team for their promptness & keeping us warm in this -15 degree weather!

I've used Residential Heating and Air for over 20 years and can't say enough good things about them. I use them for a few reasons. Reason One I like to support the small business owner. Reason Two They are fair in their pricing. They don't offer the cheap price just to get in the door as you see on TV. They have a price and only fix things that need to be fixed.
They don't upsell You pay what needs to be done. This is been my experience. Reason Three They are HONEST and do stuff by the guidelines set by federal, state and city laws. They won't do something just to pass something because you want it. Things are done by the law. I also have refer them to many of my friends. I wouldn't do this if I didn't believe in them. Because I don't want my friends to come back to me and say they weren't happy.

Our furnace went out in the middle of December and Residential Heating and Air Conditioning was able to come out the same day to assess the situation and schedule the install of a new furnace the next day. Cesar was kind, helpful, prompt and incredibly wonderful to work with. Renee was very informative, responsive and walked us though the entire process. We would 100% recommend this company!

Called them for a safety inspection at a vacant house that is sold. They called me as I was boarding a flight on a Friday and said it didn't pass and they have shut off the heat (Temperatures are freezing right now). They said it would be $4,200 to replace and it was not repairable. I said I would get another opinion and was told that it wouldn't change anything.
I had 2 other reputable companies come out and both said it was safe, in great shape, and issued a safety certificate. I called and explained the results and asked for a refund. They stuck with their position and would not refund the $159 inspection fee. Never again!

I've been extremely impressed with Residential. When we needed a bid on a new furnace, Dave provided us with a professional and informative visit. He wasn't pushy, and his numbers were competitive. I appreciated that, and we moved forward. Installation was professional, and when they ran into an issue that was going to cost us more (one way or another), they provided us with good options. Not pushy at all. Practical and straightforward. My interactions with the office have also been friendly and efficient. I'm glad we went with Residential.

Everything was dandy up until installment date. They left a box full of pipes, etc., had to clean up after the fact there was stuff all over the floor. There was a big piece of equipment from our old ac unit outside left behind. My gate was left opened, and my garage door too. The electrician was NOT professional, he put my children at risk by leaving the baby gate opened, when I had made it clear to the installment team that I am working from home, that if something is needed to communicate w/ me.
Communication failed on their part. The installers left, I had no idea there we're 2 random men in my house, didn't know who they we're until I asked about the thermostat being installed upside down, that's when I found out it was the electrician/his colleague. The electrician was rude, by the time he was done his entire body was already outside the door tapping to leave, with that attitude of his, I had given up already trying to ask questions.
Recently found out that this rebate for getting an efficiency furnace installed, was never processed (communication failure again). I called was told my name looked familiar and that she was sure it was done on their end, she was going to look into it and call me back the next business day. No call until I initiated to find out, that the status on my rebate was unknown.
I get it, everything has a process, everything takes time, etc., asking for communication and updates is not that hard. This company should be ashamed about being affiliated w/ MERSC companies. A gift card was mailed to me after contacting the owner, but definitely doesn't justify how I was treated from the day of installation to finding out about my unprocessed rebate (after patiently waiting for the full 12 weeks).
The rebate manager also wasn't pleasant to talk with, no empathy there (excuses was all I heard), my trust had already left the door from installation date, gave benefit of the doubt w/ waiting to see if the rebate was going to be done timely, NOPE! 8-12 weeks is turning to be another wait of 12 weeks and beyond. Anyone would be unhappy and frustrated w/ all the various of experience that I had to deal with. WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY AGAIN! STAY AWAY!
They do not deserve your money or time. Kudos to Anne, and Ceasar for displaying compassion/actually listening to a very frustrated customer. Bless your hearts! I hope this place is at least treating you both fairly.

They were great. Arrived when they said they would be here. Got my ducts all cleaned out before I had them install a new furnace/AC and thermostat. Everything looks very professional. Plus they were BY FAR the cheapest quote we got. Dave helped us get the ball rolling and was awesome. Would highly recommend. Services: Duct and vent cleaning, AC installation, Heating system installation

Recently my air conditioning went out. Passive user. Called the people who installed my furnace. Came and diagnosed in short order. Come to find out it was a simple fix. I can always and will always trust that they will be upfront and honest and I will take there advice. Not like other contractors will say your ac is bad charge you and use unit on there next house.
Trust is most important especially with there experience and expertise. Actually they also replaced furnace one winter when mine went out. Recommended to me to add some inlets and outlets and trusted there advice and had them done. House heats and cools just fine. Thank you. Appreciate your staff and the job they do. Also remember when old furnace had to be replaced.
Heat exchanger corroded out which is common on old furnaces. They have the expertise to know that ac and furnace need to communicate and they were able to locate a thermostat that would allow two different manufactured units to communicate and work properly. Thank you!

Interesting to read these reviews. So many talk about rude customer service, inept installation, and faulty equipment. Funny not funny we have experienced all of that. Having purchased a condo unit with a 40 year old A/C unit, we felt it would be prudent to replace it sooner rather than later as the gas in older A/C units is being phased out and harder and more expensive to replace.
Being new owners, and never having an HOA before, we went with this company, which we were informed is the ONLY business we could use. Our less than one year old A/C unit has failed twice now, with the company telling me it's now my problem because we have "old lines" what ever that is. I am truly shocked at the attitude of Renee and her confidence of my wrong doing.
We are the customers, your company has installed faulty equipment, and now you tell us it's our problem, not yours? Meanwhile we sit in 90+ heat suffering, yes you're getting the part, yes you will repair your faulty equipment, then what? We just wait for the for the next breakdown. I hope anyone reading this will learn from our mistake and hire a different company.

My furnace stopped working on a VERY COLD Saturday morning. I called Residential Heating and Air. I was very relieved that they had technicians on call on the weekends. The technician named Sam showed up within 2 hours after the initial call. After some diagnostic tests, he found out that the blower's motor was shot. It made sense because the blower had been making a high-pitch noise.
I was quite nervous, thinking it would take a long time to replace it because the furnace is quite old. To my surprise, Sam located a replacement part right away. He went to pick up the blower motor and came back with the new blower motor within an hour. He got the blower motor replaced and the furnace was up and running. Everything went SOOOOO smoothly. Sam is super honest, friendly and knowledgeable.
No up-selling, no hidden cost. Only honest, expert opinions and that gave me peace of mind and confidence. Everything was done perfectly. The most important thing was that I got the heat back within half a day. So, THANK YOU to Sam and Residential Heating and Air! Highly recommend their services and I would NOT hire anyone else for my heating and AC.

Quick response and professional service. Met with the Chris (salesperson/estimator/operations/owner). He was patient and had extensive knowledge of HVAC equipment and how to assess our needs. He didn't try to oversell and was candid about what was needed and what was not needed. On the day of installation they were on the job early and Chris assisted his team with installation.
It was fun to watch them use the crane to remove the old unit and carefully add the new curb adapter and 5-ton unit. Installation took a total of about 4 hours. Would definitely recommend.

This review is overdue, but lately has been even more deserving. Residential saved my life. I bought a house with a furnace that the realtor and homeowner lied about--it was leaking carbon monoxide. It was in the middle of the coldest weather we had seen in years. Residential worked with me around the clock to make my house safe to live in while still getting a new safe and efficient furnace.
They showed more concern for my safety than anything else. I was amazed at how quickly they got the work done and how supportive they were in handling the difficulties I had with financing after just buying my first house. Later they fixed the heating issues on my finished basement (thanks to a bad "do it yourself" job the previous owner attempted). Once again they were fast and did excellent work. Residential will always have my business.

I needed to replace my central air. Got three bids. I went with Residential because the sales person was very knowledgeable about A/C, as a plus they were the lowest of the 3 bids. My original unit was 2 1/2 ton. it was too small: my home is 3,600 sq/ft and very long. Our sales person (Dave) had a good idea to go with a 3 ton condenser and a 4 ton air handler.
This really made a difference - we now get cooling all the way at a long run of duct. Took them one day to replace the condenser and air handler (Carrier). Did a nice job of insulating the line set. Workmanship was top notch.

Only use these folks if you want to make your household sick and spend a bunch of extra money and time. After getting terrible service from Home Service Plus, we realized that our (less than 2yr old) AC was still under partial warranty with Residential Heating and Cooling who installed it, so we reached out to them. Sadly, it was the last week of June and with the July 4th holiday, they could not send anyone out until the following week (despite temps in the high 90s and a heat index of over 100).
When they finally sent someone - the guy said we need a new part and that the part is SO rare that they have to order it. *sigh* Okay. Our house is like the 9th level of hell right now - but sure. The part takes forever to come - and they tell us when it arrives that it is broken, so they have to send it back.that will take another week they say. A week passes - oh, guess what - the part did not come!
It is now July 16th and we still have no air - now they are saying it will be the end of the week. In the meantime, our cats have become ill because it is so hot in our house that they are both dehydrated - so we spent over $300 at the vet to get them fluids and constipation support, and over $300 on a window unit for our bedroom. Our 4 and 6 year old kids are miserable - so much so that we've actually sent them elsewhere to stay because it is unhealthy for anyone to be in these temps.
We had a close family friend die - and we had to bird-bath the family from a bowl of water in the bedroom before the funeral because it is the only bearable room in the house. We've explained that the heat is brutal and is making our pets and kids sick - but that does not seem to expedite this company in any way. This is not a company that cares about your well-being - or kids - or animals.
If the previous owner of our house had not used them - there is NO WAY I would give them a cent of money. It will feel like a miracle if we can get service from them before August. I would not recommend this place to my enemies.

Terrible. I called them to check out my Carrier furnace (2 years old) because the heat exchanger was overheating. The tech came out and told me basically everything in the furnace needed to be replaced because it was so dirty. My house was a flip and they told me that the builder had been running the furnace without a filter and basically destroyed the brand new furnace.
I was quoted $2,800 to replace the fan, motor, and heat exchanger (the bulk of the internal parts of the furnace). I was also told the warranty wouldn't cover the parts. Needless to say, I was shocked to hear my brand new furnace basically needed to be replaced. I called Abel Heating & Cooling (much better reviews) to give me a second opinion.
The second tech came in and immediately noticed that I only had three cold air return vents, not nearly enough for the size of my house. Upon further inspection, he said the unit itself looked fine. A bit dirty, but nothing that couldn't be cleaned. My main issue, however, was the the furnace was not getting adequate cold air supply. So even with the $2,800 fix proposed by Residential Heating & Air, I would still experience the same problem. Do yourself a favor and call another company first. Not worth the diagnostic fee.

I had a Daikin A/C unit added to our pre-existing forced air furnace. I chose them since their bid was considerably lower than their competitor. The A/C install took 2 days since someone had called in sick(?) that day, not ideal but ok. We ended up needing to upgrade our breaker box and went with the electrician that they used. It took almost 4 months to get our rebate from Xcel, but not sure if that was Residential or Xcel being slow.
Overall I'd use them again- I'm happy with the work they did and based on my experience nothing ever goes exactly as planned when hiring a contractor to do work on the house. The inconvenience of having the install take 2 days is outweighed by the lower bid, and they threw in a duct cleaning for the inconvenience.

I just had this company install a Daikan mini-split A/C in my 110 year old house 3 weeks ago. The install took 2 days. One for the hardware, one for the 220V electric hookup. (Uptown Heating and Cooling does this in one day per other posts on Nextdoor, just an FYI). I tell the installer I want the units centered over the windows per my conversation with the salesperson. Installer says "Oh we cannot do that.
I wish the sales people would stop telling people that they can install directly over the windows." So now I have to figure out where to install them, and where they will fit. Then installer says "the electrician will be out tomorrow to run the wiring. He will show you how to use the remotes and the units once they are working." Electrician shows up, and when done, says "Oh, I don't know how to use the remotes, you need to read the manual." Super helpful.
Then I realize later that night that the ceiling fan/light and a bank of 4 outlets in my kitchen don't work. So I call the company to let them know the electrician must have connected or disconnected something incorrectly. Now, while the woman at Residential is very concerned about me paying the last half of the bill, she tells me it's a "coincidence" that the ceiling fan and outlets are now not working, and she is pretty sure it is not their responsibility.
We then argue for 15-20 minutes about how this could be possible since I haven't touched the electrical in over 15 years. She tried to give me the analogy of "how sometimes a furnace can be worked on, and then the water heater can go out at the same time - it's a coincidence." I informed her that this is not a coincidence, and that well, her analogy is TWO DIFFERENT PRODUCTS.
Not the same electrical box where work was just done on a few hours before I noticed the issue in the kitchen. I give up arguing with her and get the direct line to the electrician. He says, "I will be out tomorrow morning, " coincidentally, the Friday prior to July 4th weekend. He texts me at 1:41pm and says he can't find the key. I panic thinking someone has taken it, my neighbor goes over to the house and sure enough, it's right where I said it was.
He never even went to the house, just wanted to start his weekend early. So I wait a week to see if he texts me back, and nothing. So I text him a week later and ask "Hey Jim, were you ever going to come back and take a look at the electrical? That was on July 11th, and have had absolutely zero response from him. So. Unless you want horribly crappy service and some of your electrical disconnected (and then told it's your responsibility to pay for the fix), you may want to think twice about using these folks.
It is unfortunate, because the product is good, and I am enjoying having air conditioning after 17 years in my old house, but the service is abhorrent. I wouldn't do business with these people if they were the only ones in the area. Luckily they are not. You can do better than Residential Heating and Cooling.

Just got off the phone with these people. Sounds like they are scammers just like the other reviews say. I have a leak in my Central air and she would only disclose that the first hour of service costs $149. She would NOT tell me what any additional hours of service would cost. She would also NOT disclose how much the freon R22 would cost for each pound.
These people are get their foot in the door and take all your money scammers. Don't use these people. Call up Ray N. Welter Heating instead, they were upfront with all their labor costs and freon costs with me and I didn't even ask. They are just very truthful and transparent. These people are not!

Awful, we called them when our furnace went out because they installed it (previous owners) and their number was on the side. After waiting 6 hours, the tech told us we had a cracked heat exchanger, it wasn't under warranty (9 year old furnace) red tagged the furnace and tried to pressure my husband into committing to their overpriced bid on a new furnace there and then.
We got two more different techs out for second and third opinions, neither of whom could find evidence of a cracked heat exchanger. Turns out it was a dirty flame sensor! I'm so mad and am going to be fighting them on the $200 charge for a "diagnoses". They are scam artists. Also their quote on replacing the furnace (which absolutely doesn't need to be replaced) was way higher than other quotes we got as well. Do not use them!

Running a special on duct work cleaning so I called and scheduled an appointment. As soon as the tech got to the house he started "working" my wife and telling her that it was only a maintenance special and that our ducts would need much more work than that. Asked them to leave and not come back. total bait and switch company. Don't fall for their "specials" it is just a scam to get them into your home so they can scare you and tell you the world is going to end unless they do a much more thorough cleaning.

Furnace having a problem that started last year. Called out a different company last year, who could not determine a fix for the problem. As winter started up this year, the issue returned. This time I tried Residential Heating & AC, and within a few short minutes the furnace was repaired and working like new. Service tech did a great job. Was very courteous and took the time to explain my furnace and the steps he was taking during the repair and annual tuneup. Will certainly be calling these guys again if I run into any issues.

Scam - stay away I purchased $278.86 worth of duct cleaning on my house, where the tech told me that they would clean the Furnace & Filter, Funace Chimney, Water Heater, Water Heater Chminey, Dryer Ven, Central Air & Ductwork. All of the above have been marked as done. However, a month later when we finally turned on the heat - there was dirty air and bad smell coming from the furnace.
There was also noise come from the furnace - so right away we turned off the furnace and called Centerpoint Energy. Center point came to check and see where the smell and noise coming from - as the guy pulled the Furnace fan out, we saw an incredible amount of debris in the wheel and inside the furnace. There goes another $150 for a job that Residential Heating was supposed to do.
I called Renee at the Residential Heating shortly after, and she basically told me that there is nothing she would do for me. Bottom line - do not use them. Use CenterPoint Energy - same price for better service

I spent $578 to have my air ducts and furnaces cleaned by this company. The next day I noticed dust and wood dust collecting on the floors of some rooms. I stuck my had in some of the ducts and pulled out dirt in several cases. I called and they came for a second service call. In this case I reached into the ducts and to my dismay I still pulled out dirt from one of them, with the technician present! he just game me a shrug of the shoulders like, "what can you do"? I stuck my own vacuum down many of the ducts and heard a lot of clinking. Who knows what's still down there?

So I took advantage of a groupon that these guys put out for $40 for $99 worth of duct cleaning (or something like that) and they got some techs out relatively quickly to do the duct cleaning. While they were here, they talked me into having my dryer vent and water heater done too. i *hate* having things like this done, but know it's an expensive, necessary evil.
So when the tech suggested that my water heater was maybe going to fail soon, I was, well, thinking he was going to try take advantage of me. The next afternoon, I went to use the hot water and it was cold. Yep, as predicted, the water heater did fail. In a rather less than good mood I called up the nice folks at Residential Heating and Air Conditioning and made a stink about it.
They then proceeded to give me the most awesome service I've ever received. 1 - The tech they sent out (within 2 hours) was the most pleasant, service minded guy ever! 2 - When he didn't have the part - he went out and bought one and had everything running that afternoon. 3 - Residential Heating and Air Conditioning treated it as a warranty job.
No charge for the repair! I couldn't be happier. I also couldn't give these guys a higher recommendation. Way to turn my frown (super grumpy frown) upside down. Thank you!
