Barineau and Sons Heating and Air-conditioning were one of the 1st firms in Tallahassee when his father open the business in 1972.

Worse company and frauds. They were recommended to us by a friend so we called them. We asked them to quote us on a full system check and cleaning. We were quoted at no more than $600.00 to fully clean and use some new method to bomb/spray our duct work to kill bacteria. In short, they "Joel" scheduled and didn't show, three times. We were told they would deduct $150.00 for the scheduling fouls. (that's $450.00 max). Joel finally showed up and charges us $89.00 to look at the system and quote us what we needed.
He shows up a few days later to do all the work, but all he did was check the wiring and spray a cleaner on our coils and wipe them. He didn't open any part the system, inside or out, and said the new bomb/spray for the ductwork wasn't necessary. So that's it. He cleaned our coils in the unit with a spray can, and then charged us $380.00 in addition to the $89.00 spent. $460.00 later and less then half the work promised.
We called two other companies and both quoted us $89.00 for what he did. We now have hired another company to come do what we asked Stanley Barineau & Son to do. We were very upset, and called the friend to notify her our experience. She was furious and made contact with them herself and demanded they refund us. They say they will. We'll see.

I have used Stanley Barineau & Son's for a very long time. I subscribe to their maintenance program and they have replaced two units in the last 5 years. I recently moved to a new home and they of course are moving with me. Always professional, courteous, on time. The office staff is always so helpful. Recommend them highly.

We have been long time customers (over 10 years) using them for annual maintenance and repairs as needed. Up till this year, it has been great. We have recommended them to family and friends. Something has changed in the business drastically and we are not the only ones who have noticed. Recently, we noticed stains around our AC vents. We asked for someone to come out and look.
For whatever reason, we were told Stanley Barineau insisted on responding to take a look. At first, that seemed like just good service. Mr. Barineau came out, looked at our vents, and advised the duct work needed new insulation. He did not go in the attic. Since this seemed reasonable, we took the $500 quote and scheduled the work. My wife took leave that day from work to be here.
After the scheduled time came and went, my wife called to find out if they were running late. She was told the crew was tied up on another project and could not make it. No call to let her know or to reschedule. I guess we were expected to call them when they did not show. We rescheduled for the following Friday. Once again, my wife took off work.
This time, a single employee showed up. He took a look at the duct work and advised re-wrapping would not solve the issue. The insulation would need to be stripped first. Instead of working up an estimate, he advised we would need to schedule another appointment for the estimate and suggested we schedule the work in cooler weather. Once again, we called for another appointment.
Once again, Mr. Barineau apologized and promised to give us a new quote. He did not. It is now 7 days later. We called during regular business hours and got the answering machine. No call to follow up with a long-standing customer. No effort made to keep a long standing customer. No effort to fix repeatedly abysmal service. I suggest you find someone else to work with. This company has obviously gone off the rails from the top down. I expect they will be out of business soon from what I am seeing on their recent reviews.

This is the WORST company I have ever worked with. My wife and I were long-time customers who purchased annual service agreements every year and regularly used this company for issues with our system. We contacted the company to have one of our annual service agreement services performed last fall and their technician failed to show up for this appointment without providing any notice.
We subsequently rescheduled for a set time and they failed to show up again. When we called the company, they offered no assistance and instead told us that we should contact the technician (who happens to be one of the owners) to try and resolve the issue. We ultimately scheduled 4 appointments with this person and he failed to show up on every occasion, costing us a lot of time and energy!
They didn't even offer so much as an apology for all of these missed appointments. The company never performed this service, even though we prepaid for it. To make matters worse, we started to have issues with one of our systems (which they installed a few months prior) and when we finally were able to get a technician out, he was unable to fix the problem.
He repeatedly assured me that he would return with new parts and get it fixed, but this never happened and he stopped returning my calls and texts. He never fixed the problem but the company had the nerve to send me an invoice for the service that was never completed! After weeks of trying to get a response, I ultimately had to contact another provider who was able to fix the problem in less than an hour.
I have tried contacting the company since all of this to resolve this issue and they are no help whatsoever. They don't respond to calls, emails, or even certified letters. I have cut all ties with this company and will never do business with them again. I always support local business but this was the most ridiculous experience I have ever had with a service provider in Tallahassee. Do yourself a favor and find another provider!

Stanley Barineau and Son Heating and Air, are the best in Tallahassee, Florida. If you need excellent service and a good price for replacement of your old units, or just maintenance or service, they are the Company to call. They have replaced my units and have maintained the unit for years, and continue to service all my rental properties in Tallahassee, as they do many others. Again, call them when you need your units replaced or serviced, or for any problems, they are the best by far in Tallahassee, Florida. Stanley and his Son Joel along with all their technicians have proven to be the most experienced in the City. So if you want quality work call Stanley Barineau and Son Heating and Air.

Stanley Barineau and Son is amazing! Our ac went out, and a technician promptly came out and replaced the bad capacitor. We are happy and cool in this Florida heat! I expected the whole ordeal to be a headache, but Stanley Barineau and Son made it a stress-free ordeal. All technicians we have had over the last 10+ years are extremely knowledgeable and professional. If you need AC service do not look anywhere else - they are the best!

Thank you to Mr. Barineau and his crew! I dreaded the experience of having to change out my old Air conditioning unit. Thanks to Harold (one of the servicemen) for keeping my unit running as long as it could go! It finally broke for good and replacing it went so easy. I was able to get financing through Mr. Barineau's company and within a few days, my new system was up and running!

If your air conditioning unit experienced issues under warranty DO NOT expect them to honor it. My ac has been down for about a week and they've sent a guy to look at it and he changed a fuse, which wasn't the issue. After that, the ac is still down, and we've tried to request to have someone come and actually fix it. No one else has been here, and the company has started refusing any calls me or my roommate make. Again, this is all under warranty, the unit is about two months old, basically brand new.
