Outstanding service! We had a unique problem when our furnace hose was accidentally attached to our bathroom vent after residing our home. It turns out that this particular vent had two hoses dangling in the wall, one for the furnace and one for the bathroom vent. David figured out what was happening and removed the outside vent cover and reached into the area and located the loose bathroom hose and connected it to the outside vent.
His ability to solve this problem saved us considerable money. Also, a special thanks to Will and Chris for their efforts in solving this situation. We have used Thrasher Services for years. They are great to work with and do outstanding work and their rates are reasonable.

David was excellent. I had a new water heater put in. It was a Rheem. He was excellent plumber and worked diligently, as it was a really tight fit, and water meter, was in front of the install. Highly recommend them for all you're HVAC plumbing and bath remodeling needs. I will definitely use Thrashers again. Thanks

I love that Chase listened to my needs and was driven to find a solution to satisfy customer needs. I had a faulty outside spigot where the valve had broken off inside. I really didn't want to cut into the walls of my finished basement. Another plumbing company said that was the only solution, but Chase was industrious and diligent in working to extract the broken part from the outside of my home.
Everything is fixed to my satisfaction without tearing up my basement walls. So glad I decided to get a second opinion! Way to go Chase! I will always use Thrasher from now on!

Thrasher service was awesome. I requested service due to be an unable to change a water filter due to pressure within the line. Ben arrive timely and presented himself professionally. He assessed the situation and determine what needed to be done to fix the issue today and also to prevent future service calls. He communicated with me his ideas of what would need to be done.
Even took the extra time to check that the pressure in the line would not prevent me from changing the filter myself. When he determined that there was still too much pressure in the line for someone to be able to change the filter, he went the extra mile to add a valve to release the pressure. Still going the distance he went through the entire process for changing the filter and made sure that I was able to change the filter myself without issues.
I highly recommend Ben at thrasher service, he paid attention to details and gave advice on filters and how often to change the filters as well. Ben with Thrasher Service thank you.

The absolute kindest, most empathetic woman was working dispatch when I called with a plumbing emergency on Friday afternoon after a rough week. I was at my wits end by the time I connected with her. She was incredibly compassionate and found a plumber who could squeeze me in between other calls. The plumber arrived within a couple of hours and was able to quickly resolve what I was certain would be a disaster.
He was efficient and professional. I am grateful for their empathy and quick, competent service. Great ending to a horrible week! Thrasher has a customer for life in me. And I live in a 122-year-old house so they'll likely hear from me often.

My father used Thrasher's for a bathroom remodel, it was a tub that was converted into a shower. He's elderly and this was a necessity for him. I live out of state and just recently visited him, saw this "remodel" for the first time. First of all, the price for this was absolutely ridiculous. It reminded me of a plastic type shower that you would see in a older model RV.
The closure is this horrible, cheesy, plastic, accordion style door. He was charged almost $8500 for this project. Not sure if they thought it was okay to take advantage of someone older, or If this is what they consider a bathroom remodel. Nothing else was replaced or upgraded. I'm pretty sure central Iowa has many other options besides this company. My advice is find someone else.

Dispatcher quoted their trip charge & hourly rate when I called to schedule a plumber. Today the dispatcher called to let me know he was on the way. He arrived close to his scheduled time. I had 3 jobs: a shower valve, reinstalling a leaking toilet & installing a whole house water filter. He quickly completed all 3 jobs professionally and neatly. No wasted time means no wasted money & I appreciate that. I highly recommend them for your plumbing needs. Great work for a fair price.

Two years ago we had a sewer backup and the water heater took a hit and needed to be replaced. We had the furnace checked and our man said it was fine and dry inside but I needed to find someone to replace the water heater. I had seen on TV their ad many times and gave them a call and they replaced the heater under not so sweet smelling conditions with a good brand for a thousand installed and the other taken away.
Our bathroom faucet began to drip and I ignored it the best I could, but eventually called Thrasher again. They sent out a man who was less than thrilled to be here. He said that he couldn't get access to the valves because it was in stalled with the vanity when we remodeled the bathroom. He said the would have to remove the vanity. I said that wasn't going to happen because he would crack the tiles and the floor tile.
He said yes it would happen. Then he said I needed to replace with a wide set and his store sold them. So we went over there and picked out something. He came back out and said he couldn't install them because the holes were too small. I asked couldn't he file the holes until they were wide enough. He grumbled and said he was going to look for new valves.
So in the meantime, I found out where I purchased the remodeling and they had the records from 10 years earlier. They put me in touch with the company that made the faucet who in turn sold me two valves, one hot and one cold. So this guy comes out said he got the last two valves in town and there were not any more and in 3 minutes replaced them. Drip stopped, but then said the faucet would drip a bit because of the water in it and the crud from the valve that collected over time.
I mentioned that I had 2 valves coming in the mail and told to save them. He charged us $370.00. OK. That was on 7/30/19. Two days ago it started to drip again. I called Thrasher back, mentioned I had two valves. They said they would ask the repair man if he remembered the job. I got a call back and was told that since the valves had been replaced once it was something wrong with the whole faucets and both needed to be replaced.
They then said that the parts alone for the two valves was over $100.00 I said that wasn't right because for the two valves i bought from the company who made the faucet was $12.98 for the both of them. I said that I didn't like the idea because we were going to replace the faucet, told he couldn't enlarge the holes but was willing to destroy the whole vanity and tiles because he couldn't fit in the wide enough doors and all that.
I wished them well but said, that i will put up with the drip and very probably will go with a different company who honors their year warranty on parts they put in, although I would have given them the parts I ordered. and didn't want them to do the job. Now i have read some great reviews about Thrasher and they were very kind to come out after the flood to install that water heater, remove the old and install shut off valves and I do appreciate it.
I am still baffled that since the valves to shut off the water are easily accessible, and a small set screw to remove the handles, put in the new valves as done before, they were not willing to put them in, even charge me, I am baffled. I guess there are enough plumbers in town to choose from, i thought a family business would be better. Maybe they will read this review and improve their service.

They have performed plumbing repairs, replaced my water heater and replaced my furnace/AC. Their service techs are second to none. Professional, hardworking and helpful. I have owned my house for about twenty years and have used other service companies in the past. Thrasher is the only service company I use now. Always dependable. Always a great value for your money.

I recently had a plumbing and a heating problem. Called thrashers, found their rates to be reasonable ans set up an appointment. Service man came out and promptly fixed a leak under kitchen sink and replaced a part on our furnace. He was done in less than an hour and our bill was fair. I will definitely use them again if i have more problems, hopefully i dont.

We have used this company for more than 15 yrs for heating/AC installation and service. They have been prompt and knowledgeable. (Including talking me through the process of getting a frightened cat out of the cold air return system in the evening) This was the first time we used them for plumbing. The guy was here in less than 2 hours and replaced the corroded pipe that caused a major H20 leak in our basement in less than 1 hour. So we were w/o H20 for under 4 hrs. (Cleaning up our basement took a bit longer.) Thanks, Thrasher's!
