Watch you bills and your payments made to this company. They posted my payments to someone else's account and then threatened to put a leon on my property. The owner and account3dept are totally incompetent

Stay away from this company-very shady. over billing and just incompetent. My payments were posted to someone else's account and was pressured to pay by credit card which I never do so i paid twice for payments they already had received. Took 2 weeks for them to find their mistake.

UPDATE: reducing to 1 star. Not sure who Michelle is or if it's a bot, but no response was received after three attempts per the directions below. If you own a brownstone or limestone, Feel free to message me or reply as I've found an exceptionally better, and cleaner option and couldn't be happier. I'm grateful to have dodged a bullet with these charlatans.

I have been working with Approved Oil for the last 10 years. They continue to provide very personalized service. The entire team truly cares and they are extremely involved in the local community. Always responsive and accessible which is hard to find these days. I highly recommend the Approved Oil team for all of your heating/plumbing/energy related needs. Called for emergency service since heat wasn't kicking in and 3 hours later still no service or any calls. I will be switching company and report this to BBB.

Safe, efficient and friendly service. The tech showed up on time and was wearing a mask for his safety and mine. Not only was he professional and polite while doing my repairs, he followed covid-19 distancing guidelines and i felt totally safe. I cannot recommend Approved Oil enough - they always respond quickly and show up when they say they will. their service is the best in the NYC area.

Even during a pandemic these people never let you down. No heat when I woke up. Had a repairman in an hour and he was great (didn't get his name---he lives in Oceanside he said). Jennifer who answered the phone was professional and polite. A happy customer for almost 20 years. They're the best.

Ive been a customer since 2003. They are phenomenal. Someone is always in the office to take your calls 24/7. They respond immediately to emergency calls. Both their customer service and repair department go above and beyond to get it done. I highly recommend them

I reached out to Vincent over yelp asking for HVAC service. we needed our freon refilled ASAP to get through a hot & humid week. Even though Approved Oil does not provide the service directly, they were awesome at providing me contact info for Steven Fillecia. Steven was great at understanding the issue, set expectation on pricing and showed up at agreed time to fix our issue. This shows how businesses like approved oil care for the customer and enable other service companies or professionals during these tough times. Thanks Vincent!

Dishonest company. I was short changed on the amount delivered. There price was higher than it was supposed to be. I asked for a service call for an Apartment building and they said no unless I give them a cut of my natural gas delivery. Approved starts out ok and then turns in to a band of thieves

The worst experience in my entire life dealing with a company. They delivered oil with me not consenting to it and later on sent a bill will fight in court with proof as I have cameras and they left no slip

Don, t trust this company the lock the price and the charge you different price don, t trust them don, t buy oil or get service from them

I've been using Approved Oil Company to heat my home for 15+ years. It's a company that's truly dependable. Their prices are highly competitive. I trust that I'm always getting the best deal with them. Their employees are hard working and very professional. I will continue to use them for as long as I live in Brooklyn.

I was referred to Approved Oil by a friend of the family that swears by them. During last years winter on a Sunday my wife and i woke up to no heat in the home. We called approved and they dispatched a service technician right away and before i knew it the house was warm again. ***Be careful*** do not choose an Oil company based on the lowest price. you pay for what you get and i will continue to use Approved based on my experience and will recommend them to any of my friends and family.

Terrible customer service. Had to call three times until someone didn't hang up on me. Answered my first question and then hung up before I could ask another.

I originally had Madison oil, Approved took over several years ago. I haven't had any problems with their service. Every time I called they responded timely. I own a 2 family in Bensonhurst for 31 years. On auto delivery and they have never let me run dry like my 1st Co. did twice in middle of winter and gunk on bottom of tank clogged my lines.

The only question I have is that for the 1st time I locked in a price and was wondering what happens if oil drops below ( thats why I never have done it before ) otherwise I have never had a problem, their staff has always been prompt and curtious.

We have been Approved Oil customers for years. Always responsive customer service. Last night a boiler pipe burst and water was gushing out like a fire hose. Our basement would have been submerged within an hour. We placed an emergency call to Approved Oil, they sent Steve who was here within 15 minutes, on a snowy holiday weekend. Steve saved our basement, our weekend and our sanity.

He improvised to stop the water by using a frozen garden hose and clamp he found serendipitously on a window ledge in the basement. Not only did he fix the problem, when the plumbing company we called was a "no show"; he provided us with valuable lessons on boiler maintenance and flood prevention. Steve was extremely resourceful, knowledgeable and patient.

He took time to guide us on what to do to fully resolve issue once he left. Because of employees such as Steve, I highly recommend Approved Oil company. This is the type of service you want in the middle of this type of emergency.

I use Approved for all my home and investment properties' heating needs. I use them for maintenance, new systems, and my oil & gas. The response time is quick, quality of work is high, and they are pretty easy to deal with. I definitely recommend using Approved.

This company has the worst truck drivers and customer service. If I could give them less than 1 star I would. As I was driving to work this morning one of their trucks pulled over on a very narrow street. I couldn't get by him and then he decided to reverse back on me. As much as I blew my car horn he kept reversing. When I went to talk to him he said he saw me but if I didn't reverse as well he could have killed me and there was nothing that I could do about it.

When I called to complain the woman on the phone was so ignorant that she hung up on me five times. I guess she has never been in my shoes before so she could care less. I've never had to deal with such an unprofessional company against my will.

I called in because the boiler stopped working on one of the coldest nights of the season. Sylvester and Joe D are excellent at what they do. Both techs showed up rather quickly. Sylvester diagnosed the problem and Joe D did a great job with installing a new part for the ignitor/spark function of the boiler. He was clean and efficient. He put all his efforts in yet he completed his job effortlessly.

As a customer for over 30 years (had an oil burner now it's gas), we have experienced our ups and downs with the company, however, when it comes to boiler service they do not disappoint. Thanks for having talented people on board.

I have worked with Vinny S. the service manager for several years. He is hard working and dedicated to getting the job done. Approved handles the majority of our service calls and oil deliveries. During the winter months when oil was in short supply by other companies, Approved always came through for our buildings. I have a good working relationship with their customer service dept. I have been using approved oil for my business for the the past 10 years for oil and for boiler service. Their deliveries are always prompt. When I recently had an issue with my boiler the repairman was here with in an hour. I need a boiler for my business to function so I was so grateful for their speedy repair. My boiler was up and running in no time! I highly recommend using approved oil.

Tooch the service dispatcher is the best! He brings color to that place and works so hard and is so dedicated : that man is amazing! Woo hoo!

Their oil rates are the highest around. We've gone through winters where we've kept with Approved because it was easier, and always regretted it. Sometimes they're as much as $1 per gallon higher than the closest competition. As far as reliability goes, Approved is reliable -- they'll send repairmen out in the middle of the night, and they're courteous and reliable.

They will charge you an arm and a leg, though. They frequently double-charged us for visits, and charged us when we were supposed to have the check-up included with our yearly premium. And it's basically impossible to get a refund from them.

The worst experience I ever had In my life. Got extremely high bills with ridiculous explanation from the company Representative about my usage due to cold temperature during the winter months, I got bills for a period of a month of more than a $1,000 although we were in vacation for about two weeks of that month and the house was empty. After I request not to get the next oil delivery without them confirming that I will be home when the delivery guy pumping the oil to our tank, They did it anyway and left me another high bill. I would not trust them what so ever. Beware from them!

One star for leaving me oil-less twice in as many months in one of the coldest winters we've had in a while. Unbelievably bad service.

I am the owner of a legal two family home. My tenants chose to use Approved Oil as their Oil delivery company and were late with their bill. Approved Oil began making harassing phone calls to myself threatening to put a lean on my home, even though the tenants who owed the money held no ownership in my property. There was a time when we used Approved Oil ourselves, but their service was so poor that we changed after one season. These are the type of improperly run family owned businesses that give small businesses a bad name.
