Don't bother. No way these are even licensed plumbers. Wrecked our bathroom and still want to charge us the original price of $1000 plus another $1000 to fix what they broke! And that after waiting a week to even get a call back after the original quote. Steer clear of this sham. Eli was nice but that does not make up for the shoddy job, or the lies told by the other person.

I had written about this company 2 years prior and gave them a great review, they were good to me 2 years ago.that's why I called them back here. This time not good at all. The man who came to my home, on time, which was nice.raked me over the coals. He put 8 lbs. of Refrigerant in to my a/c unit with florescent leak dye. $$1,300.00.said he could see where the line was leaking once it ran out, well it ran out in less than 48 hours.
I MUST HAVE A LEAK THEN RIGHT? WHERE? HOW CAN YOU SEE IT NOW, IT ALL LEAKED OUT?! A gentleman from Albany Mechanical will now be helping me out. He said the technician from RJ Downs should not have put refrigerant in unless he was willing to stay and see or hear from where the line was leaking. You cannot tell after the fact. So I just wasted $1,300.00, literally into thin air. UNREAL!
And I was informed that RJ Downs charged WAAAYYY too much for R410a. Sad really, makes me sad. You have technicians come into your home to help you. I am just a home owner, I have no idea about A/C units, my mistake I guess. Shame on them.

Those guys might be good, whenever they show that is. I had an appointment scheduled for 5 days after my first call. The tech called me to say he is 30 minutes away at 1030PM.was I scheduled for an emergency appointment 5 days after my call? I told the tech I do not need service done in the middle of the night, so we agreed they will call me again the next day. never called after that.great customer service.

So, I just got a call from customer service, the day before my scheduled appointment, May 21st. Customer service now says that the earliest date that they can give me is June 13th. That's 22 days away. I'm guessing that they must have all of the clients that they'll ever need. But I won't be one of them.

If I could give negative stars I would! We have been in our house since Tuesday with no heat and it is Saturday now! We called this company because they came to fix our relatively new furnace right before Christmas. It is not working again and we were told they would be here by Friday morning. After repeated calls yesterday, with assurance that someone would be coming to look at it, no one showed. Now being told by 4 pm today. I have three children in a house with 4 space heaters going!

We recently had a new oil boiler installed by RJD: it was a great experience working with both Ryan from the sales department and Gene, Reyaaz, James and Ethan, the installers. They did an tremendous job. The installation looks awsome and they left our home spotless when the work was done. Day 6.was promised yesterday that someone would be at our home between 6-8pm. Received a call after 9pm and said he was running late? I said are you kidding me, don't bother tonight, but please have someone come first thing tomorrow. It is now 7:20pm and still nothing. This is absolutely insane. I pay extra to be a valued customer with preferential service and I have been without hot water for six days and the only guy that showed up from Roland J.
Down had no clue how to service a one year old system that we paid handsomely for and was recently serviced with no supposed issues. We also received a call from there call center and the guy confirmed he was located in another country and the service tech that had no clue how to service our new Navien heating system warned me not to call after 7pm as you will just get a call center with people who have no clue.
He said there customer service is terrible and had no clue why they would send him out to work on a unit he has no clue how to operate? Utter insanity, run from this company!

We've been using this service for 20 years, long before they became "Service Experts". We also have a service contract with them. We had our annual AC service done in June. Friday morning we had water all around our furnace. It looks like we have a moat. We called and were told they would send someone out. Friday night at 11 PM we received a call from the technician saying he was really busy and didn't know when he would be over. Saturday - no call.
We called back on Sunday and left a message. They didn't even have the decency to return our call. We called again today (Monday). Again we were told they'd send someone out but no idea when. This is unbelievable! They could care less about their loyal customers. I can't imagine how we'd be treated if we didn't have a "service" contract. If I could select a zero rating I would. We're done with this company.

This was the last straw for our use of Service Experts & Roland J Down. Our hot water heater failed yesterday morning. My wife called Service Experts and we were told by the call center we'd get a call back within 2 hours. 5 hours later we still had no call back, so remembering my last failed experience with them, I've decided to no longer use them.
We called another local provider, talking directly with local reps, who set us up for an appointment this morning and who have proven worthy of our business. We're done with Roland J Down, and more importantly, Service Experts.

I just had my A/C tune up for the summer. The last time I had it tuned up was in 2019 by Roland J. Down. When the unit was opened, my technician noticed that the fins are missing in three separate places, which is not normal. The only way fins go missing is if they are removed on purpose. I have never had an issue with my A/C, I just get yearly or bi-yearly tune-ups.
This is the "MO" of Roland J. Down - they damage your equipment so you have to buy a new system - from them. They tried to do the same thing to my boiler in January of 2020. They cleaned and inspected it and did not turn the water back on! We had no heat on one of the coldest days of the year and I had to buy a space heater. They finally showed up in the late afternoon to turn the water back on so I could have heat and a salesman also showed up to try and sell me a new boiler. Be very careful if you have these techs in your home to service your equipment.

Just writing again about RJD! As y'all read on 3/3 they asked for me to phone them because they were concerned WHAT A JOKE! When speaking with the "man" that returned my call I knew I was on speaker so I told him I couldn't hear him well (it was difficult) SO he made it easier for me to hear him, I assumed the speaker was off. All he wanted me to do was to repeat what had happened in my home with his worker AND in fact someone else "was" listening to everything I had said as he let me know at the "end" of our conversation, with a giggle.how immature! Illiterate as he may have seemed to me, he NEVER apologized and it seemed as if he just had a vendetta against the worker that was in my home NOT SORRY about what I had experienced! What a poor excuse for PR! What a poor excuse for "management"! What a poor excuse for a "business"!

The only service I was offered was their premium and useless lease your HVAC service. this was $31,000. they could have more upfront - they gave NO expert advice - all yes yes yes - and no substance. I'm researching. You should do the same. I have moved had to be careful- using NYSERDA - get an energy audit. hope you are careful. It's a game where you can get burned!

Rick, Richard, James, and Amelio did a great job when our water heater died. Rick showed up and was ready to start repair. The team came next day to do final steps of heater installation and the finished job is very organized and clean. I was impressed with their service and responsiveness. Thanks very much!

Unfortunately our boiler stopped working. We reached out to RJD and Byron gave us an estimate on a repair. He spent ample time with us and gave us clear information. We decided to go with a new boiler so we then met with David in sales. He again spent a lot of time with us and laid all of our options out clearly. He knew we were a family of 4 with no hot water so he was able to set us up with an installation date of the very next day.
We then worked with Justin and Ben for installation. They were very professional, maintained social distancing and wore masks any time they were near us. They kept the work area clean and worked quickly. We are very happy with our new unit! Everyone we've had the pleasure of working with at RJD has always been pleasant and professional. Highly recommended!

From sales person Cheri to installation we had nothing but great experience. The young men, Mike, Rusty and Ernie that came to install the heater, AC and hot water tank were courteous, friendly, very professional and fast in having them all up and running in no time. I called for service on my air conditioner. They were very nice, the two gentlemen that showed up were on time and very knowledgeable about my air conditioning problem. They informed me of a few things fixed it and my AC works as of right now. I had no problem, I paid under $300 and that included the $120 service fee. I'm not sure what to compare the price to, since I haven't had any problems in the past. I would recommend this company

Totally not working and super expensive! My A/C cooling is not working properly. Call them in the morning, they come my house during lunchtime (pretty quick). Charge $119 for coming and $200 for a capacitor(they said the capacitor die cause compressor not working),s o total more than $300! But after they left, A/C continued working more than 10hours, the room temperature only drop 1 degree!
I check outside temp is 73, but my room temperature is 77! I settled temp is 76, 10 hours working, temperature drop from 78 to 77! Call them at 21:00 ( because they mentioned 24/7 on call), waiting 20mins no response! Very disappointed!

Professional, decent price, prompt. They were available on a weekend (which was a lifesaver) and were at least $100 cheaper for dispatch than the other companies I called. The tech that came asked really poignant questions and immediately figured out what was wrong with our unit. He fixed it right up and our AC has never worked better. We will only ever use these guys now and I’ll recommend them to anyone who asks!

We purchase a few years ago a Lennox unit from that company. A few months ago, our unit went down, we were given a 10 days waiting period. Unless I would agreed to paid a surcharge of$200,t o $250. I understand the game now. No busy if you give a extra, very busy if you want the regular price. (unit still under warranty!) We waited mostly until 4: PM no heat!
I contacted the office, a very unfriendly person responded to me(Sheila) they are busy. tech will arrive around 3:AM. Told the employee we had a appointment made 10 days early. We don't want 3:AM After 9:PM no need to show up. At 11: PM we received a call from the technician announcing his visit. We understood he was doing his job, the gentlemen told my husband, the office added us for night work!
We explained to him that we welcome him, early morning or at his convenience the following day. We contacted the office and Sheila told my husband, : " if your aren't happy, go some place else!" We did follow her advice we contacted family Danz. They came during regular hours, found the issue. We won't recommend that business anymore.

Roland J Down is now a previous service that I will NEVER use again. I set up appointment 2 months ago and alerted them that I was going to be using the $50 off coupon that THEY sent. The tech came hours early while I was still at work. My stepdaughter called me to ask of it was ok to allow them in to tune up the furnace - that I purchased from them 8 years earlier.
I said it was ok to allow them in earlier than the appointed time. They did the work and left the bill with my stepdaughter. They never subtracted the $50 coupon. And so when I called they customer rep said they dont except coupons AFTER the service was rendered and that my stepdaughter should have given the coupon at time of service. But, they said they would take $25 off. No thanks! Probably just cost yourselves thousands of dollars in future services. After more than 2 decades of service, see ya!

Hell NO kept us waiting and waiting and waiting. I finally canceled the appointment. Roland J. Down has terrible service. We waited ALL DAY for them to arrive and they never did. After several calls to them when they said they would arrive, by 6pm they still had not arrived and could not say when they would. My husband asked them if they could give him an appointment time for the next day and their answer was "no." Needless to say, we are looking elsewhere for a more responsive company with the ability to show some interest in customers. AVOID RONAND J. DOWN or you too may waste an entire day waiting and still get NO SERVICE.

I've been a customer of theirs for several years now after they installed a new, fairly pricey HVAC system for us. It works well so I have no regrets about installing it, or the price tag. I find their technicians to be quite skilled and friendly and that their prices are within the ballpark of their competitors. However, they do really hound you to make service appointments, which is ok -- I understand the benefits of maintaining the system - - but getting them to show up within the scheduled timeframe is sometimes a real challenge.
My latest appointment is typical: I had an appointment scheduled between 10-12 and they called at 11:00am to say I was next on the list. At 11:30am, I called to check in (I had to leave at 1pm) and they told me they'd be showing up an hour late. I said let's reschedule and then suddenly a technician was available who could get there immediately. He did, and by 12:23pm he was done.
I'm very happy with the response and the technician, who was a really nice fellow. My only complaint is that if I hadn't called and gotten kicked up in priority, the appointment probably would've run over my hard stop at 1pm.

With this cold front moved in our furnace stopped working. Many companies denied us a visit because we were not established customers. It was freezing out and the temp dropping inside. They agreed to send a technician asap. They were swamped and someone still came way after hours. He was friendly and knowledgeable. We were up and running quickly and greatly appreciate being fit in. Will schedule maintenance for the furnace with them going forward.

AJ and James did a wonderful job on one of the hottest day of the summer. The heat index today is around 100!! These gentlemen worked non stop for 6 hours with no break, what a huge project to replace the old unit. Very professional and showed us the new system. It is wonderful to have a/c again and it is working great.
