In 1976, Cannon expanded its capabilities to include an ASME Code program for specialty manufacturing of boilers and pressure vessels - skills that allowed Cannon to remain viable through several severe recessions. In 1978, the worldwide energy crisis prompted Cannon to focus on developing energy recovery products.
Steam is used to provide thermal energy in many industrial, commercial and institutional settings. It can be a pivotal component in manufacturing, food processing, brewing, cleaning and comfort heating. Steam heating systems consist of various mechanical components including boilers, feed tanks and deaerators, ductwork, stacks, pumps, fans and many other auxiliaries.
It became obvious that there would be a universal need for efficient and reliable steam in other areas. So in 1959, Miura developed the ZP type boiler and the Miura Co., Ltd was born. The innovative compact and efficient design of the Miura boiler was a brilliant answer in a country where all fuel is imported and space is a premium.
