Cook's Heat & Air Conditioning - Cross City

Swindlers and Liars. I have a Goodman unit which is 3 years old and under warranty. It was not working. Had a technician come out and he quickly diagnosed it with a Freon leak in the coils without running an actual test and stated that the coils are not covered under any warranty and it would run me about $2,000 to fix. He even tried to talk me into trading in my three-year-old unit and paying monthly on a brand new unit from them.

I told him I would need to think on it because that was a lot of money. I called the warranty company the next day which stated that was a complete fabrication and that the unit is fully covered. They gave me a listing of suggested AC repairman near me and one was sent out the next day who diagnosed the unit as having a bad reversal valve but stated the coils were fine and even if they weren't would have been under warranty.

He is coming out to make the repairs at about the third of the cost of what the other Tech quoted me. I was asked what company had given me that ridiculous quote and when I told him Cooks he was less than surprised and stated their technicians are trained to be swindlers and try to sell you units you do not need and diagnose problems you do not have. I will be contacting the BBB.

Critical: Professionalism They are horrible unprofessional and charge to come look at the system to let you know they need a different crew with additional cost to clean the system will no use them again. I would recommend staying away from this company if possible.

Air conditioning venting was never hooked up properly. I have spent so much money having this company, I feel because I did not buy a new AC unit they did a terrible job. AC runs too much, but does not come through vents, now getting molded interior vents. Had someone else look under, tunnel was never hooked up right and over top of plumbing lines.

Chris was coming back to install a part that was previously determined to be our issue. He was skeptical that was the issue and started from the top to re-evaluate everything. He determined the issue was with our outside unit instead of the inside component. While we are still in a holding pattern, I am confident Chris has identified the issue.

My experience with Cook's has been nothing short of amazing, from the first phone cal to the end of the service call. When I called Cook's to schedule, I met a very polite, efficient person who told me I would have a repair person at my house between 8 AM and 9AM the next morning. Our unit is old, 17 years old and every year, the capacitor breaks down. it happened again this year and called cooks heating and air. technician came and fix our ac. it was after hours and the technician did not charge me extra fee. he is very polite and he knows what he is doing. I found out that he is Jerry and he is the owner of the company. he did explained how old hvac works.

The efficiency of the unit and consumption of electricity. Jerry explained and showed us the ne hvac units thats on the market that is efficient and electric money saver. Me and my wife have decided to get a new hvac and I can actually say that I am very pleased with the new hvac unit. our home is a lot colder than before. new hvac is a lot quiet and best is my electric bill went down. Im glad that Jerry showed me this.

I can say that it is a good investment. it also have 10 years warranty. I dont have to worry now. before, I always worry when i get home if my ac is still working or not. I would definitely recommend Cooks heating and air to everyone.
