In March of 1986, Dave Cox and Dave Corbin started Dave's Heating & Cooling. In the summer of 1992, Dave Cox passed away making Dave Corbin the sole owner. Since that time, Dave's Heating & Cooling has pressed on, and has retained a small town atmosphere approach to solving all your heating and cooling needs.

Dave and team are a class-act in Greencastle and Putnam County! I needed a large stainless steel cover plate to be custom-cut in a very specific way to finish a project that I was working on and Dave's people were the only ones who knew exactly how to make the type of cut that I needed and the result was absolutely perfect! While Dave's is certainly well-known for HVAC services, they also have extensive expertise with metal fabrication of any size or scale, even creative projects like mine that fit well "outside the box." Just give them a call or stop by the shop and they will be happy to help brainstorm the correct solution for whatever project you're working on. The next time that I need HVAC service, they will be the first place that I call. All-around nice people, too!

Dave is clearly an expert who treats you with the gentleness of a family man. Seeing our messy house, and a bunch of kids toys he congratulated us on our infant daughter. He visited me twice the day I called in my A/C Unit problem, after first diagnosing a frozen line, on the exterior of the house and troubleshooting the cause of the line, he stopped by again later in the day because he wasn't able to get the work done at that point in time due to the ice that had accumulated in the interior of the furnace.
He said just to turn the fan on, and he would be back when he was on his way home. He wanted to "make sure we were all comfortable" for the evening even though it meant an extra trip that day. After not being able to find a leak on the hoses, he informed me that it's possible that the leak may be internal to the unit, and that may need to be replaced, which will be costly, but he didn't try to sell me on a new unit.
He looked up the installation (he installed the unit for the previous owner in 2011 8 years prior) and let me know it was out of warranty, but he didn't try to sell me on a new unit, because he knows 8 years is a pretty short lifespan for an A/C unit. He just filled the unit up with Frion, and let me know that it is in good running shape for now, but we'll have to keep an eye on it.
He also shared a great analogy that an A/C system is like the circulatory system for humans. If everything is in good working order, it shouldn't need new frion, just like we don't need to be pumped with new blood unless something isn't working properly. Having seen Dave for both Heating and A/C now, I'm confident he's your go to man in Greencastle.
