Founded in 1960 by the late Raymond and Pam Wharton. Wiring new houses & up-grading existing electrical system was the primary scope of work for the first few years. The company then became an Authorized Electric Heating Dealer for the Potomac Edison Power Company in 1964. That same year, Wharton's Electric had a retail store in Burton's Shopping Center in LaVale, MD.

I had a problem with my electric water heater. Todd called within a few hours of leaving a message, apologizing that their front office wasn't there right then. He made sure that I had hot water (I think he might have come over right away if that wasn't the case) and asked if it was okay that he come the next morning. He arrived right on time, ready to look at my issue.
He diagnosed it quickly, told me the price first, and quickly, efficiently took care of the problem. The wiring looks much, much better than what was there before. I would wholeheartedly recommend this company and will use their services should I need an electrician in the future
