Angela went way above and beyond helping me research a part number for my neighbors furnace. We could not identify his model and serial number and she looked back in her records to the early 2000's and found it and found the part number for the blower fan capacitor that we were desperately looking for. Thank you so much Angela, a true life saver during these cold winter days.

We have had a semi-annual preventive maintenance contract with Powers since purchasing our home in May 2019. On December 13, one of their technicians came to our house to perform the winter PM. He was here for a very long time, and I asked him why it was taking so long. He told me that after he had finished his PM, he was replacing the door on the front of the furnace and heard a "pop".
He said the circuit breaker next to the door safety switch had failed, but when he replaced it the unit would not function. It took him several hours to conclude the ignition control board had also failed. He said he would have to locate a replacement board. The next afternoon, December 14, he returned, this time with another technician, and replaced the ignition control board, and provided my wife with an invoice for $461.11.
I checked the internet and found a genuine manufacturer replacement part (it's a Lennox) for $235. So I wrote to the service manager (after having called and left a message - my call was never returned) stating that while I understand that some parts fail, and I wasn't accusing their technician of malfeasance, the fact remained that the system worked perfectly fine until their technician came out for the service.
I was willing to pay for the price of the board but I didn't (and still don't) feel I should have to pay for the labor to replace it. The service manager wrote back and stated that they had already deducted $100 in labor from the invoice (there was no breakdown of parts/labor, just a total number with the $100 deduction), and that was all she was authorized to do.
I wrote her back that afternoon (Dec 14) asking to have her escalate this to the office manager or whomever had the authority to waive the labor charge. Several days (this was during the Christmas season) passed and I didn't hear anything back so I wrote again on Dec 28, and followed up Monday Jan 3. I received a response the same day, telling me she thought the matter had already been escalated to their office manager before the two technicians had returned to replace the board.
I again asked her to let me know what the office manager decided or to have her contact me directly. That afternoon I received a call from a Powers rep (didn't get the name) who told me the office manager was busy with inventory, but that the discount I had already bee provided was all they could do, and they had to make sure they compensated their employees for the time it took to research the part, go pick it up, etc.
I reiterated to him that I was willing to pay for the part, but the fact remained it was perfectly fine until the "service call", and that unless something unusual occurs, solid state components (like circuit boards) generally fail very early in their service life. I also told him that I found it somewhat telling they sent another technician out to actually replace the board (I get the sense the first technician is still somewhat new in the position - again I'm not accusing him of negligence.) I also wonder exactly what the going rate for labor is.
I'm assuming Powers can purchase the board at wholesale rates which are at least as low and likely much lower than the $235 I as a consumer could purchase the ignition control board for. They originally wanted to charge $561 to replace the component, which is a labor charge of $325 or more. Assuming it took a technician 30 minutes to find the board at a local HVAC supplier, and two hour round-trip to go get it, plus 30 minutes to install it, that's three hours labor.
Pretty high labor rate in my opinion. I believe (as a customer-focused small business owner), the company had the capacity, and the obligation, to waive the labor charges. Very disappointed in the level of customer service here.

We had an appointment but the technician was delayed and couldn't make the appointment. They didn't call back to reschedule. When I called them one week later, they scheduled me for another week out. Now my service will be over two weeks after my scheduled appointment. After my initial post above the company immediately reached out to me to reschedule with a much better time. They certainly take these reviews very seriously which is excellent.

Excellent company! a highly professional and caring team. They worked out a considerably lower price, despite matching all the services and features offered by five other competitors. Everyone of their team members were caring, professional and had an ownership attitude. We had two new units installed along with duct cleaning, Extremely happy with their work. Highly recommended.

AMAZING! We needed a new heating and air system to replace our 35 year old system. Ryan worked with us to give us the very best deal that would work in our budget. Chris and Cody arrived to install the system on time and ready to work. They were very professional and confident. They explained what to expect from beginning to end. They asked if I had any questions and then got to work. Tarp was laid down to protect the flooring. Chris worked outside and Cody worked inside.
Our old "Dinosaur" put up a fight but between Chris and Cody, there was no problem. When job was completed, Chris and Cody explained the new system and then showed us how to use the new thermostat. Clean up was done efficiently and you would not even know they were here. We have 2 neighbors with Dinosaurs and we will definitely tell them to go to Powers Heating & Air. Thank you

Good service technicians - friendly and mannerly. I've used them regularly for 10+ years, and what strikes me is that they are consistently the "smartest" company from a AC tech standpoint. Instead of defaulting to buy a new unit, they service your existing unit. If they tell you that you need to purchase a new unit, then you can rest assured it is time to invest.

We could not be happier with Powers Heating and Air! They are an honest and reliable group in every way from equipment estimates to repairs and yearly maintenance. Today John and Kelly were here for our Spring system clean. They sent a reminder the night before to confirm the appointment and followed up with a call in the morning letting me know they were on the way.
They arrived promptly and quickly got to work. We had added a new system & I had for gotten to mention it when scheduling and because it was so new they checked it and cleaned it at no charge which was a pleasant surprise and then John explained to me how to clean it in between their visits. They noticed all the little details including replacing the batteries in our thermostat units.something I had missed.
They took great care while working in the house and were quick, quiet and clean.even wearing booties over their shoes! They finished by checking and cleaning our outdoor units. One of the units is old-- and unfortunately, one that still uses freon which turned out to be low. (So glad they caught that before the GA heatwave of summer arrives). They recommended refilling and will check for leaks on the next maintenance service or if we notice an issue vs recommending a new unit right away.saving us a lot of money as this point---- which is enormously helpful while we currently have a college tuition and a wedding to pay for.this was MUCH appreciated!
Upon completion of their work they provided me with both written and verbal descriptions of all work completed and then asked if I had any questions or concerns which they answered in detail. All in all it was an excellent experience from two polite, and thorough professionals who take pride in their work. I am pleased and impressed with these men and the Powers company as a whole. They have earned my trust and loyalty & I won't hesitate to contact them for all our future needs. I highly recommend this company! Kate Neely.

I have used Powers for 11 years ever since I did a comparison between 4 local companies and found they were the best in price and flexibility. First they fixed a system that had been in the crawlspace and was not engaging the furnace. They fixed the furnace and recommended I replace the AC part (but NO hard sell) since it had been under water due to flooding the crawlspace.
I decided not to replace and the system they installed(and the flooded out AC part) is still working well. Over the years I have needed various fixes and always receive reasonable prices for their work and I am confident that they know what they are doing and only fix what needs to be fixed. 2 years ago I decided to replace completely one AC unit including furnace and outside unit along with moving it to the other side of the house(so new line set). Ryan was my sales associate and did a GREAT job at explaining each option (still no hard sell) and pros and cons.
I purchase and they installed the unit. There was one error on the installation where the new line set was installed that allowed a squirrel to sneak in my attic couple of years later. I noticed the issue and Mike (service manager) personally inspected it and they repaired the issue free of charge. (this included at least 2 hours of work since the little bugger had chewed through the control wires) I am very pleased with Powers and the service they provide.
I am actually waiting now on my 1:00 pm appointment for an issue I am having at a house I just moved into and have every confidence that if it can be fixed, they will do it within my budget and if not Ryan will help me pick the right replacement unit to meet my desires.
