Peter and Michelle (Shelly) Schauermann can seem as large as life itself (they're both very tall) and to be fair they have the physical evidence to prove it! With their small "tribe" of 11 kids between the two of them, it's fair to say "family" is more than just a buzzword for them. Both are Clatsop County locals and love the families and sense of community found in our corner of heaven.Peter has been installing and servicing every kind of heating and cooling unit you can imagine. In 2002 he decided to strike out and try his hand at running his own shop, and has been doing it even since.

Started in 1988 by local a Astorian under the name Columbia Pacific Housewarmers, it was part stove shop and part heating oil delivery service. The business was sold to another local Astorian, Peter Schauermann in 2002. In the late 90's Peter was learning the trade as a HVAC and Gas Fireplace installer at another local shop in Astoria.

It started with a very pleasant phone conversation with a polite 'phone answering lady (probably the owner)' - and ended with Adam arriving as scheduled, performing the chimney clean, WB stove clean and checking all for satisfactory operation. He was polite, knowledgeable and efficient. Will call them again when the need arises.

About a year ago they sent 2 technicians to my house in Ocean Park, WA. and they did a service on my Quadra-Fire pellet stove and my gas( propane) fireplace insert. They worked just fine for about 2 days. Then my pellet stove stopped heating. I then started using my gas fireplace to heat my house but after a couple of days that quit working also. I received a bill in the mail about a week later but still haven't bothered to pay for a service call that clearly didn't work. I was interested in talking to them about upgrading my gas fireplace insert but not now.

Best folks around for heating problems! Very professional and fair to the customer. A few winters ago I was having heater problems, and Columbia Housewarmers apologized for not being able to send a repair person for two days because they were so busy. All of their competitors said they could put me on a six week waiting list. I bake cookies for Columbia Housewarmers!
