In 1965, Nelson Poston (who had worked in the business since high school) succeeded his father and uncle in operating the business. A short 8 years later, in 1973, Dan Poston succeeded his Father Nelson and became the third generation of the Poston family in the business. Poston Brothers will be celebrating it's 90th Anniversary in 2019. Poston Brothers was founded in 1929 by Elva Poston, and his brother, Paul Poston in Burlington, KY. In the early days, most of Poston Brothers business consisted of coal and hot water heating systems with additional plumbing and electrical services.

This was my first experience with Poston Brothers, and I will DEFINITELY be a repeat customer! Our AC stopped working (of course, on one of the hottest days of the year!), and we were able to get same-day service when requested. The first "wow, that's good customer service" moment, was when we got a phone call from the Technician letting us know he was on his way. a few seconds later, I got a text with a link to a map showing a PICTURE of the tech along with his name - David Benjamin - AND a link to a tracker map that showed where he was coming from, along with an estimated time of arrival! Dave arrived exactly when expected, and the overall experience was phenomenal.
He quickly identified the root cause of our problem (condenser fan motor) after testing the capacitor, validated the condenser seemed to still be working, AND had the exact parts I needed to get the AC back up and running right on the truck. While we discussed a need to upgrade, there was NO high pressure up-selling, just genuine concern to get the home cooled and livable again as #1 Priority!
On top of that, Dave was very friendly, communicated what he was doing (and why) clearly and effectively, and even let me take a cool slow-mo video of him trimming the new fan motor rod down to size :). Awesome awesome awesome customer experience. While I wouldn't wish a dead A/C on anyone, you should be so lucky as to have a reason to cross paths with the Poston Brothers crew!

Our house stared getting hot last night, so I looked online this morning g and saw that Poston has a 24 hour call service. I called at 6:16 this morning. The gentleman that I spoke with was named Aries. He was SO kind and professional. I received a call back from dispatch at 7:45 to set up an appointment. We are in a massive heat wave right now, so having to wait a few days was expected; however, I received another call back at 8:19am saying that they promised to call if they had an opening.and they did!
Thank goodness! They let us know that a technician would be out within a few hours. Patrick McCarthy called me at 11:15 and said he was on his way. He had us up and running in about 20 minutes! He was so polite and SO very knowledgeable about what needed to be done today. He saved us a ton of money, which we greatly appreciated. He knew the capacitor needed replaced and possibly the motor.
He called to see if he could even get us a motor because you know, supply issues.grrr. NOT their fault though, so that was also expected as everyone has supply issues right now. He was able to locate us one; however, he decided to try a new capacitor first. Thankfully he had one on him, because its about to storm real bad and we'd have to wait for that to clear to finish working on it.
He tried it and thankfully that did the trick! It saved us over $700 today! He was so good at explaining everything as he worked on our unit. He went ahead and checked our furnace for us as well, just to make sure it didn't have any cracks or leaks, since we have a gas furnace. Thankfully all was good with that for now. We are 22 years in with this system, which they installed when our home was built.
We know that it will need to be replaced soon.but we're hoping that we can make it another year or so before replacing both, if possible. We have an appointment today at 3pm to get an estimate for the future. They do have financing options, so we may do this sooner than later. All and all, we are more than pleased with everything we have experienced today.
From the 24 hour call service this morning, to the follow up calls, to our technician Patrick arriving within a few hours from our first call.we have had nothing but excellent service. I would, hands down, recommend this company to anyone who needs HVAC work done on their home. We received stellar service from the first call.and an incredibly quick repair.
Everyone else that we called said it would be next week before they could even make it out (which again, is completely understandable) but we had our home cooling off again before lunch today! We are so grateful, especially with the heat this week. I called back to get Aries name and spoke with Precious. As with the others she was so very pleasant.
She welcomed us to the Poston family as we joined their monthly membership program today. We will receive discounts on future service and parts as well as 2 service calls per year. We hope to use those for spring and fall tune-ups each year, but Patrick said we can use them anytime. That will definitely be a great service to have once we get the new heating and cooling units in. So, it's a great investment for those as well as anything we may need in the meantime. The thermostat had a system error message. It was not cooling. The technicians came out the same day. They reset the thermostat & also reset the AC unit. Jacob & Kyle were friendly & professional. Called Poston for heat pump concern and they were out the next day. Dave gave me a full description of the work he was going to do and was very respectful. He confirmed there was no issues and believed that ICE may have been the issue. He allowed me to witness his observations which helped me understand further. He complemented the condition of the furnace while completing a winter maintenance and then discussed the new service plan Poston is offering. Jeffrey was sent out from my property management company to look at the furnace, since it was only working intermittently, switching on and off every few minutes. The problem wasn't happening when he first arrived, but instead of leaving he inspected the system carefully and noticed several prospective problems. It's very fortunate that he took a while to diagnose because the problem started occurring before he left, so he was able to gather more information to submit to the property management company. Very happy with his expertise, thoroughness, and willingness to explain.

My furnace went out during the coldest week of the year. Larry and Jeff gave me the royal treatment from start to finish. They worked hard and in excellence to make sure I received a new furnace and AC unit despite any potential supply chain issues. They were on time, kept in great communication until the job was finished. They were neat, orderly and was the best heating and cooling service I have experienced. AC finally gave it up. Being a former electronics engineer, I was able to do some troubleshooting and determined the compressor was bad. Given the refrigerant regulations, we had to call a pro HVAC service. We called Poston Brothers. It was well after hours and the house was getting quite warm with the outside temp in the 80's. A tech stopped by late to check the system.
Sure enough the compressor was shot. The furnace was 24+ years old. We decided to replace the entire HVAC system with Poston. They were very courteous and professional. They did not try to upsell us. No pressure for extra warranties, contracts, expensive add-ons etc. The even let us use portable AC units until our equipment came in on Monday. Price was quite fair. Techs showed up on time, very professional and finished the job in a few hours. All is good now and I can recommend Poston Brothers to anyone needing HVAC installation or service.

Mark came out to perform our seasonal tune up on our AC system. As I expected he was prompt, courteous, professional and thorough. I have used other HVAC companies in the past but Poston Bros, in addition to having top notch technicians, exhibit a level of honesty and integrity I have never experienced with any of the other compsnies. Poston Bros is the only company I will call for my HVAC needs.

We've used Poston Brothers Heating & Cooling twice within the last year and were very satisfied both times. We called them during the summer to service our air conditioner and most recently for help with our gas heater, which gave trouble on a particularly cold day in January. I work at night, and the company was flexible in making arrangements to accommodate my schedule.
At all times its representatives were courteous and professional. We heard about the company years ago by word of mouth from another satisfied customer. You might receive mailings from other, perhaps larger companies, but an endorsement from a friend really means so much more. This place needs to let everyone know that they bought out the original Poston Brothers. If I knew this wasn't the same company I would've never hired them. Took them 5 weeks to fix air conditioning system then after signing I Pad after service was finally repaired they sent paper invoice in mail Triple the original price. They had no parts in their 'warehouse' so you wait and get charged for them to drive everywhere trying to find what they need.
When you call to ask a question no one returns your calls. I've always done great business with them in the past but like I said I found out after the fact they bought out the original even though they state on their website and invoices established in 1929. This is not the same small town business they lead you on to believe. There's more to running a business then pointing and clicking making appointments and hiding behind a secretary when people call. Don't waste your time or money because at the end time and money will triple on you.

I am a pastor, and our congregation has used Poston Brothers for years for repairs and maintenance. They appreciate our need to be good stewards and are honest, responsive, and skilled. Our family recently had an A/C issue during a particularly hot time period. We called our "regular" provider and could not receive service for 3 days. We called Poston Bros as a backup. They worked us in the SAME day! The tech was polite and skilled. Poston Bros is now our go-to company for church and home!
