We are in process of building 2 houses. We wanted to use someone local. This is my first review and I truly wish I would have checked out the others reviews before contacting Dean's. They came out and provided quote we let them know we where ready to order. My husband had to continue to call for status which the lady answering the phone was going to check on it no return call.
My husband called again and same thing. So a month later he calls and lady states she will check their schedule and call back she didn't call back. So today my husband calls to tell them we are going with another company and they tell us they have ordered some of the equipment and we will have to pay for that. My husband ask to speak with Dean.
It was a very bad experience so basically it came down to us paying for what they had order (tubing and stuff not the unit), let them do the work that they were supposed to do a month ago or go to court. We will not use them once we build our 5,000sq house and ONLY REASON USING THIS TIME IS TO HAVE TO GO TO COURT OVER THIS IS CRAZY I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE also we have family that uses this clandestine they will not be using any more I would not give them the above star but I had to enter something to post my review

I am writing this review for anyone who opts to use Dean's Heating and Air to be aware of my issue. I purchased an Central Heating and AC unit with installation from Deans. Four years later i have discovered that the installation was not done to code. After removing my old unit and reinstalling the new unit, Dean's opted to not use my existing condensate drain and rather connect to a nearby sewer line.
As a result this led to occasional sewer gas blowing throughout my home. Also there were large gaps left around the evaporator coil that should have been sealed. I had assumed that the job was done right and there wasn't a need to have someone come behind and check their work. Upon informing Dean's of their err, i was informed that the installation was too far in the past for them to correct this without additional charges.
I do not feel i should have to pay additional cost for something that should have been done right in the first place regardless of the time frame. They did not ask if they could tap in to my sewer line, so I now have an additional cost of closing it back up as well. As for the unit itself i have no problems, but i could not recommend an installation from this company.

Pardon the length. We were loyal customers for well over a decade. always doing the work recommended. And they were always quick to respond. We had a continual problem for several of those years (abnormal vent condensation that led to mold) that this company could never find, despite our concerns. Short story. there was a busted drain pan that they had tried to repair with (what looked like) painters caulk. Attic insulation was saturated!
Now several thousand dollars later and mold remediation we have changed companies! This incident was the straw that broke the camel's back! At some point we felt very highly of this company, BUT NOT ANY MORE! Unfortunately, I would never recommend them for any work. And especially after I saw how they responded to my 95 year old father-in-law with his new system (from them) in the extremely cold temps last month!
Avoid these folks. Gatling's has been very responsive, thorough, with excellent customer service. Good luck to all of us as poor customer service seems to be the acceptable norm these days!
