Osborne's Plumbing in Bucksport is by far the very best in honesty, attention to detail, knowledge, promptness, and professionalism. We have used them for over two years to repair various plumbing problems in an apartment building. Absolutely no complaints from us or the tenants! (Office staff are always pleasant and prompt.) Service: Heating system repair

The lady, Leslie that took our emergency call, and the plumbers, Phil and Spencer that came were the nicest people! The plumbers fixed our broken pipes right away, and explained what they were doing throughout the process so well. They were so knowledgeable and patient, and we are SO grateful to have chosen them to help us. Their prices were very reasonable as well. We will definitely be using Osborne's from here on out. Thank you so very much Osborne's! You guys are life-savers!

Osborne's fix my boiler. Thank you. Osborne's tell me it needs to be cleaned. Thank you. Osborne's cleans my boiler. Thank you. 1.5 days later I come home my boiler is not working. I reset the boiler 4 times, it doesnt want to run. I call Osborne's after hours and the tech comes out. thank you. Apparently the tech reset the boiler and it runs fine. [ I say apparently because I was not there at that time, I got home shortly after the tech arrived.] The tech tells me about a bunch of problems with my boiler. thank you.
In his invoice it says we have low fuel. So now I learn that my boiler wont run after being cleaned if its low on fuel. My boiler has never done this before when it was low on fuel. This lesson cost me $144.oo dollars. And it cost Osborne's Plumbing another customer. Not good Butch.

What a total shock to have 1) terrible work, 2) messy work 3) an Owner that got angry on the phone with me when I wanted to talk to him because I was questioning some of the work his men were doing as "aesthetically it was awful" - he went on a rant about how he has been a plumber forever etc etc and I'm sure he has a great business & great experience - but poor customer service and poor explanation.
He called his workers behind my back to say they were not going to finish the job and they walked out leaving 2 of the 3 reasons they were here - unfinished 1) Bathroom Shower not completed, large hole (access panel in adjacent room) 2) did not complete installation of the dishwasher. They did complete changing out the line in the back of the fridge. They may call themselves the best - but this is not the best - it was the worst!

Called to set up an appointment on a Friday. Took half a day off from work to have them come clean my furnace. No one showed up at scheduled time. Did not receive a call to let me know they were not coming. I gave them a second chance and called them back the following Monday to reschedule for the following Friday. This lady told me it would be $90 a hour and that they would show up this time.
The service guy showed up 15 minutes late. He stayed for less then a hour and a half cleaning the furnace. He then writes up a bill with all service parts and "2" hours of work time. He tells me they charge for travel time to get to the location.( I live 5 minutes away). So upon arriving to pay my bill the next week the secretary tells me the bill is more after I give here the check.
I show her the copy the service guy had provided. She the tells me he priced out the parts wrong and hands me a new bill. So I had to write them another check for almost $9. I would have eaten that and kept a customer. I will never do business with this company again. Shady, misleading, dishonest company. Will be taking my business elsewhere

I like Ozzy's of Ellsworth. My old plumber stopped returning my calls. Osborne's agreed to look at the job, then scheduled a good time to do it. Gas furnace inspection and A/C commissioning. Not fast, not cheap, but careful conscientious and fair. Had a later problem with outside piping here, and a well pump at another house, as well as annual burner cleaning. All handled professionally. Very happy.

Osborne replaced our hot water heater and our heating system. They were not only very professional and knowledgeable, they went beyond what I expected in the quality of the finished installations. I will not use another plumber/HVAC company. They use top quality materials and units. I could not be happier with their products and workmanship.

Good company to deal with. Installed our washer quickly, he had to run the pipes as we relocated it, and has been good for about a year. Had a bill that I did not agree with for a more recent service and spoke with the office. After explaining what I felt was incorrect the invoice was corrected beyond what I expected. Very appreciative of honest business practices and going above and beyond.

Critical: Quality Said they unclogged my elderly disabled mother's sink drain and did not. Paid $180 for nothing. They ripped my mother off. Now they wont come back to finish the job. Landlord says the septic system is fine so it is inside the house and Osbourne's will not come back. Do not trust their plumbers. Service: Drain unblocking

Critical: Professionalism, Quality, Responsiveness DO NOT do business with this lousy company. They were supposed to show up to fix a bathroom leak and replace a water filter. Unreliable and irrersposisble. They cancelled twice without prior notification. They did not even bother to call us. Despicable service! Service: Leak investigation and repair

Installation of a heat pump took almost a week, due to workers either being late or not showing up at all on scheduled days. Never bothered to call or reschedule. First night after the work was completed, 3 hoses on the back of the air distribution box just fell off because they weren't attached with screws but held only on adhesive tape. I lost heat in the house with newborn baby inside.
The crew leader, Jerry, told me that the employee who did the work was "relapsing into drug use" but was still allowed to work. The thermostat that I wanted was not installed because they couldn't figure out how to connect it, and eventually got replaced with cheap one, which is still not working correctly and doesn't turn on auxiliary heat automatically.
The outside unit freezes over and temperature inside the house drops, sometimes even when outside temperatures are in the 50s. One air duct wasn't hooked up at all, even though an accurate count was made before the work began, and required separate visit to run and connect it. I tried several times for over a month and a half to get in touch with the owner, Jerry to resolve the issues.
He refuses to pick up the phone or return my calls. So the "10 year warranty" they give you is completely useless. They just ignore you if something goes wrong and you will have to hire a reputable company to come out and fix the issues with your system. ****Update**** No response to address the issues with the system as of 1-11-2020, but after posting this review in December almost immediately received a call from Osborne Heating and Air.
Female on the phone identified herself as the owner, Lois Osborne. She then proceeded to tell me in irate tone of voice that "There's nothing wrong with their equipment or service, and she doesn't appreciate me posting bad reviews" after which she hung up the phone. Based on my experience with Osborne Heating and Air, I am very disappointed by the absolute lack of professionalism, quality control or support, and do NOT recommend doing business with this company under any circumstances!

I'm giving this company three stars as the gentlemen that came to replace our pump were nice and did good work. Also, the owner himself was nice enough to call and discuss this with me so I do give them props for that. With that said. I have similar concerns to the other complaints regarding this company. Firstly, we were told on the phone that the cost was $90/hour.
We are newlyweds who just bought our house and we both work seasonally, so in the winter money is rather tight. We also have a small well. When the company showed up there were two guys. One guy in particular seemed to be doing the majority of the work and we got the impression that one of them was training. They were here for a total of two hours(arriving at 9:03 and departing at 11:05, though the guys who did the job say otherwise).
When they were finished we were handed a bill that was barely legible and nothing was itemized. Turns out, we were charged $175/hour for both guys. Understandable that both men would be paid, but why the difference between $90 and $85 an hour for the two guys when we were told that both of them were seasoned employees? In addition to that, they charged an HOUR at $175 for "travel".
The owner told me it's 20 minutes each way to our house. I looked up their address, it's 15 mins at worst each way. I make the drive into town daily. So they rounded up a half hour at a price tag of a combined $175 an hour. Also, any company that sees fit to charge their customers that much for travel time for a thirty minute commute AND charges an additional half hour when they were here a whopping two minutes over two hours is not only not ethical but not trustworthy in my book.
In that case they should be rounding down. At the end of the day, the receptionist gave us misinformation from the get go and they did apologize for that. The owner called us back and he was pleasant, and did send us a check a small portion of the travel time. In a whole, these guys did do great work, but should be more straightforward with their customers about the hourly rate and more fair when it comes to billing for travel time. Had we known it would be that expensive we would have gone with another company.
