Founded by Armand Houle in 1940, Houle's Plumbing, Heating & Air Conditioning has been serving the Greater Waterville area for over 70 years. Armand started out with one business philosophy: "If you do quality work, word of mouth will do the advertising for you." That philosophy has stood the test of time.
PHCC is the oldest trade association in the construction industry and the premiere organization for the p-h-c professional. As a member of the PHCC, we're part of the largest membership association in our field. The attendant networking opportunities and educational resources means we're always up to date on the latest plumbing techniques.

Broken water pipe. I called late on a Saturday night, no other plumbers answering calls at that time. Their answering service (a person, not a recording), connected me to their night man, Aaron, who first said he couldn't come since I wasn't a regular customer. However, he called me right back to tell me he couldn't let me go through the weekend, and that he would come up to Fairfield and do what he could.
He made the repair and stopped the flood, with very quick work. Even though the cost was time and a half (after hours, no surprise), it was well worth it for the fast and effective emergency repair.

I have used other plumbers in Waterville for my rental properties because they were cheaper than Houle's, but that was always a mistake. In the end, using Houle's would have been cheaper. They do their job and know what they are doing. They are reliable, trustworthey and dealing with their professional staff is a pleasure when you have had to deal with others who are working out of the back of their van.

I give 5 stars because Houle's is a great company and does quality work. However, their website says they close at 5:00 PM and when I called at 4:32 the answering service said they close at 4:00. I explained that the website says you close at 5:00. She siad yes we get that all the time. I'm glad I didnt drive an hour to get there. Please change your website as people often depend on the information to be correct. Thank you!

What a fantastic experience. Jim in the parts department was incredibly helpful in finding me the parts that I needed for my furnace. He was extremely accommodating and had the answers to all of my questions. Excellent customer service that you do not find very often. I would give them 10 stars if I could.

The absolute worst. STAY AWAY. They "fixed" my air conditioner unit above our bedroom which leaked through the ceiling. After repair.leaked again, ceiling ruined again. They came back and charged once again to do the repair they screwed up the first time. On top of that they expected cash or credit card immediately even though they admitted they did not know the total yet.
Just wanted carte Blanche. Crappy work, over priced and business practices I have never seen before. And the ceiling damage? Tough luck to us. Do yourself a favor and call ANYONE else! You have been warned!

Fantastic service, and great communication. If they make a mistake, which is rare, they own it and fix it. We've had them as our primary provider for up to 52 rental units in Waterville and Winslow since 2009. They are a bit higher priced than many 1-2 van outfits, but I truly believe they deliver $1.25 in value for every dollar they charge. That's what is important to us, and they deliver.

Big Thank You to MIKE! Ask for MIKE! He helped me trouble shoot the issue. He's got great communication and trouble shooting expertise. I've taken care of my water pump for years and this time I just could not figure it out after hours of working on it and trying to re-pressurize it after an outage. It's working better than before! This company took advantage of my disabled father. He paid 250 dollars to have his tub faucet fixed. They made him go to the store to buy the part, THEY MADE HIM GO GET HIS OWN PART. are you fing kidding me, and to top it off the plummer broke the part, and he had to go again. After all of this, the plummer had to ask my disabled father how to fix it, I wish I lived closer to home because I would give them holy hell.
What happened to treating people the way you wanted to be treated. Unreal, its unfortunate because if my dad could move better he wouldn't have hired this joke company. Please don't go here, worst service ever.

I called at night cause I had a clogged toilet and since I didn't have much money asked if it would be cheaper during the day. He said yes and I told him I would wait till daytime and he immediately snapped at me and told me thanks for waking me up and abruptly ended the call before I could say sorry or give an explanation.
