In 1922, our founder, E. S. Koon, got his oil business start in Asheville, NC as a distributor for Atlantic. In 1930, Gulf Oil Corporation asked him to take over as the distributor for their products and the company moved to our present location at 4 Fairview Road.

Asheville Oil Company is proud to be the authorized and branded supplier of Mobil and Exxon lubricants for 17 counties in Western North Carolina. Selected in 1984 as their supplier and distributor of choice, Mobil and Asheville Oil Company have maintained a dominant role as a supplier of quality lubricants to commercial and industrial customers within our service area.
We get this question fairly often from industrial and commercial grease users. They ask if the color actually makes a difference or more frequently we will get calls looking for a "red, tacky grease." Absolutely wonderful company. We had an oil order placed, but ended up needing oil sooner than we realized. We called Asheville Oil Company, and not only did they have the best price for oil, they were able to fit us into a busy schedule instead of letting us be cold all weekend.
