Well im sorry to hear they are closed. I had several companies come out and give estimates on replacing my AC with a heat pump. They impressed me just being honest. He looked at all my duct work and returns and told me they had to make my returns bigger and add 2 ducts for the system to work properly. Not 1 other company told me that and my system was at least 25 years old.
They put a new heat pump and extra duct work in for my wife and I on the hottest humid weather of July they couldn't do enough for me guys did a great job. I even referred a coworker/friend to A1 and he used them as well. When they were all done I said who gets the check and to my disbelief they said I'll get a bill in the mail. I told them I was goin out of town for 10 days and they told me no problem send payment when u get back.
How often do companies do that never. They were not the cheapest but dam near the cheapest with a carrier unit outside unit and brand new air handler. I hope they start a new company I would use those guys in a heartbeat. I can only assume covid did this to the business. Now I'll have to look for someone to maintain my unit.

Had our heat pump replaced in a short period of time by A/1. Upgraded the system with a Carrier system. With rebates the system qualified for through Carrier and BGE, the net cost was only a couple hundred dollars higher then the other company had proposed. Joe's technicians worked efficiently, set up a very elaborate smart thermostat and showed us how to use it.

A1 installed a brand new furnace in my home about 8 years ago, when I had it inspected recently, the inspector said it was not installed properly and was not performing nearly as well as it could. We called A1 and were told they are 2-3 months behind on service calls and to email over what the inspector said the issues were, which we did. After waiting for several weeks for a response, and sending several emails asking for help, we called A1 and they again explained how busy they were and it would be at least 2-3 months to get any service.
I said how about letting me call another company to fix the installation issues and I'll send you the bill. At this point the lady there, Dixie, starting arguing that it's not their fault and they would not fix any installation issues. I would avoid this company, as they don't stand behind their work., and their customer service is really poor. It's not only about selling someone something, for a heating and cooling company, it's really about service on such an important piece of equipment in your home that counts. I would never them use again.

We didn't have any central air in our house, and Joe and his team were extremely knowledgable, helpful, and quick! I know we made the right choice going with A1! All of the ductwork and equipment they put in looks clean and organized. We were even working on other projects in our house and the project manager on the job gave us so many useful tips on how to get the job done right and for the best price. We're really glad to have a reliable and trustworthy company to work with for years to come!

We were having issues with the heat pump originally not working due to the circuit breaker was tripping. A1 came out 1/2/19 and said everything was working properly the problem was electrical. We had the electrical issue fixed. The heat pump just kept running even after it reached the desire temperature setting. I talked to Joe on 1/14/19 he sent his tech out to correct the problem without charge. I have been working with them since 2004 and very pleased with their services. I do recommend them.

Since Google has taken away the business response, I am re-posting my responses as a review. I am sorry that we could not satisfy Mr. Tevelow. We tried to explain to him that we use factory authorized parts whenever possible. We do this for a few reasons, factory parts are an exact replacement and they will keep any manufacturer's warranty intact, they save the customer on labor and they are of a better quality than aftermarket parts. YES, they are more expensive.
We did not try to price gouge or pressure him into anything; we just needed to know if he wanted us to cancel the order since we had already ordered his part. As a courtesy we did search for and found him a cheaper universal part for $168.80 and we offered this to him. There are quality parts and there are cheap parts, (He could not (or) would not understand this) We did not leave him without heat; the system in his home is a heat pump with back-up emergency heat.
When we left his home he was running on emergency heat. We were as honest and forthright as we could have been. Of course we did not refund the $113.00 we provided a service and we deserve to be paid. Please go to our website and read our customer comments, This is one guy out of hundreds of happy customers.
