Higgins Heating

Had a new furnace installed. The sales guy, charlie, was great. He knows his stuff, he's friendly and sold us a new Lennox furnace. The installer was here when they said he would be and put the new furnace in and had it running in a day. I felt comfortable with the installer in our house. Enough so that we had to go to town and left him there alone to work. He seemed honest and trustworthy. I would recommend Higgins heating for your needs. I believe they are a top notch company.

Critical: Professionalism On multiple occasions the receptionist whom i believe is the wife of the owner. Has failed to send a technician when they said they would, as well as charging me a higher rate than what was discussed over the phone. However the technician Richie as an excellent tech. But I cannot recommend Higgins because of my bad experiences. Service: Heating system repair

I have used Higgins in the past, they installed a new furnace last year, so I used them again to diagnose and fix my AC. Technician was on time, in fact early and explained what he was doing. Very happy with then. I will not go elsewhere. Service: A/C system repair

From beginning to end, our experience with Higgins Heating was top notch. Our neighbor recommended them for am AC unit in our lake home. Charlie, the owner came out to do the estimate and was thorough, personable and confident. Although they were very busy with the summer season, Charlie worked to get us on the schedule before July 4th when we were hosting guests.

To say that was the nick of time is an understatement as temps climbed to the 90's. Darren, our installer arrived early and after a quick review of the job, went to work. He kept his work area clean, was polite and we barely noticed him. We went for a boat ride to beat the heat and by the time we returned, Darren was just wrapping up. He thanked us many times for our business and even installed our previously purchased remote thermostat at no extra charge. We highly recommend Higgins Heating for all your Lake Country HVAC needs.

Customers beware! They overcharge and won't call you back or speak with you if you have a question about the overcharge and bill. I called several times and Dustin would not speak with me, I could actually hear him in the background telling the secretary to tell me that he was with a customer. I think he avoids any type of conflict. My issues about the bill was the over-exaggerated drive time they charged me to and from my house as well as being charged for the 20 -30 minutes the repairman spent in my driveway sitting in the Higgins truck after he was finished servicing my ac unit.

They not only charge for the drive time but also add on a trip charge. Anyway it was my first and last experience with this company. I highly suggest using a different company in Bemidji for your heating and cooling needs unless you feel like being taken advantage of.

We have called them a few times and we never had to wait long. They identified then problem and fixed it right away, left thier work area clean. Always very good service!

Recently had our nearly 20 year old furnace go out. Called the after hours number and within a few hours was warm and fuzzy. Couple weeks later furnace quit again after hours of course. Again back up and running in a very short time. Great service from a very professional and thorough service technician. Would highly recommend these folks.

The folks at Higgins have been so helpful over the years to me! When we bought our home, we had never had central heat and so when I had questions about ducting in a wood stove, I called the number listed on the furnace which was Higgins. They came out to my house and walked me through the process of what I would need to do and only charged me for half the time they were there!

They even made a couple specialty pieces for me. Now we are building a new home and I decided to get quotes from only two heating contractors that I could trust and Higgins was one of them. Their price as 20% lower than the other company's and even when the project took longer than they expected, they still stuck to the quote and even went beyond to help me with some supplies I still needed. They have earned my trust and I am most grateful!

My husband and I woke up on a Saturday morning to find our furnace wasn't heating. We called Higgins and within 30 minutes a polite and friendly technician arrived. He not only fixed the issue but was able to look at a few other concerns we had and offer explanations we could understand! Service was wonderful. They do a great job taking care of any HVAC issues that I have at my business. I find that the staff and technicians are both professional and knowledgeable. I've never had any bad luck with them.

I have been a customer for many many years and have always been extremely satisfied with their service. They have helped me with many different things from fixing an old furnace to installing a new furnace. They have always stood behind their work. The staff is great. I highly recommend them.

Higgins came and gave a great estimate on the installation of our little pot belly fire place on tuesday, and by thursday they had it installed, and all cleaned up and great job done. thank you higgins, finally after 4 months waiting on another heating place to put it in you pulled thru and got the job done. from now on all my problems I will call higgins first. thank you

Water damage and threats! We purchased a new furnace and central air from Higgins in 2012, and after two years I still regret doing business with them. First problem was the mess and stained carpet on the stairs from their work- I don't know how they managed to spread greasy oily black goo from one end of my finished basement to the other, but they did.

While the bid I received included installation of venting, they hooked up to the old vents and never checked them. We had destroyed ceiling tiles and wet carpet from the vent leaking- a technician came over, repaired that place in the vent, then left without cleaning up the mess or offering to replace the ruined tiles. The following year (late 2013) we had another leak we couldn't locate, so I called Higgins back to check the rest of the vent, which they did, and then charged me for it.

When I disputed the bill, they sent it to collections without returning my phone calls. I then hand delivered an explanation of why I didn't feel I should pay $100 for 15 minutes of work that should have been done when we paid $8000 for the new equipment.
