In 1970, Greg Vickers started working in the HVAC industry for a local company in the North Shore. He began working in the service and installation field and recognized a need for a HVAC company that focuses on home air quality and provides a familial company culture. In 1990, GV'S Heating & Cooling started in Greg and Pam Vickers home in Glenview and grew to employ Service Technicians, Installers, Sales Manager, Operations Manager and an Office Manager.Greg and Pam Vickers started GV'S Heating and Cooling to meet the needs of families in the North Shore.

The Trane TruComfort systems give you precise comfort by running at the exact speed needed to keep your home comfortable. This allows the compressor, outdoor fan, and indoor fan to vary operating speed and BTU as the temperature outside changes, slowing down or speeding up gradually in as little as 1/10 of 1% increments to keep comfort within 1/2° of the thermostat setting.

From the original estimate through the final installation, everyone at GV's was professional, knowledgeable, helpful and considerate. Along with a text noting the arrival time for installation, we received a picture and a brief bio of the technician. That was a nice touch in these days of meeting masked strangers. The installers worked efficiently and neatly. The technician thoroughly explained the system, its operation and maintenance. GV's was great to work with.

I called GV and was able to get a same-day appointment to address issues with my system. The technician, James, arrived on-time, was very professional, and walked-me through what he was testing to find the issue. He promptly fixed the issue (leaking humidifier tied to HVAC) and cleaned up the areas he worked in. He then did a further check of the system to see that there were no other issues. I highly recommend this company as its great to find a group that are responsive, honest, and capable.

Nothing worst then having the AC go out on a hot day. Since we are a business timely work is critical and the team were great. Same day appointment, text message reminders, and more importantly I was even able to tell them where all the equipment was, but they got it all figured out without my help. Would definitely recommend them going forward.

I really enjoyed working with this company. From beginning to end, GV's excelled. We had issues with air flow in our home and the upstairs was significantly warmer than downstairs. They provided a free estimate and discussed the recommended duct work with me at length. The installation was painless and thorough. They tested air flow at all parts of our home and made adjustments until everyone was satisfied.
They made various fixes along the way to optimize our furnace, like adjusting the blower speed to match our home's needs. Everyone I worked with was knowledgeable and professional. They way they worked with me made me feel like they truly cared about their work and making sure the air was right and that I had a good experience. Fair warning, they are not cheap, but it has been well worth the money.
