KLEBS Mechanical was founded nearly 30 years ago (1986) in Gary Klebs' personal residence. The economy was in a slump and construction companies were downsizing or closing their doors. Gary was a key employee at another mechanical company. The company was struggling and Gary decided to leave. He started his own company during this time and flourished while other companies were closing their doors.

I have nothing but great things to say about this company. We have the klebs care plan, which is phenomenal. We signed up after they installed our new water heaters and it has proved to be so beneficial. We had a pipe burst and they came out and fixed it right away, it was super affordable with the klebs care plan and I think they such a great resource for any home owner who doesn't know how to do these things themselves. David was the plumber who came, he was courteous, quick and professional.
Everything was fixed right away. Thank you as always you guys! Editing my review because they have done even more for us. These guys are great! They just came out to do a gas fireplace inspection and it was so clean when they were done I almost thought they forgot to put the glass back on. Great company, exceptional service every time they have come out. I wish they were in Kenai too now that we have moved.

This is my first time using KLEBS Mechanical and they did a great job! I called them for a boiler problem (heat issues), their technician determined it wasn't my boiler but due to wiring, it was a broken water heater. I was the last call of the day, so they showed up the next day to replace the water heater. They showed up on time, were respectful of my home, clean and thorough. John and John were hardworking and kind, even called me ma'am! My hot water works great; I really appreciate the exceptional service KLEBS.

Fast, professional and affordable. Beat the next best offer we could get in town when our heat went out and it wasnt even close; and also got our work done within 2 weeks when everyone else was estimating a month or more out. Was very accommodating and provided several options for us to select from, with even the most expensive and fanciest option being less expensive than others asked for the same machinery and installation. Exceptional service from the whole team over there. Would recommend to anyone needing boiler and/or hot water heater repair and replacement look no further than Klebs.

We have been a Klebs Mechanical customer for many years and have always been happy with their work but this winter they went above and beyond. Our boiler, installed by Klebs about 15 years ago and maintained by them ever since, failed during a severe cold snap. We were out of state and by the time we discovered we had no heat the temperature in our. house had dropped into the 40s! Klebs was booked for days but told us to call after 5:00 p.m. and leave a message for the after-hours on-call technician.
The tech, Steve, returned our call, came to our house that night and was able to get the system running, though he suspected it was only a temporary fix. He said one of several parts could be.

My husband and I rent a unit through a rental property here in Anchorage. Their maintenance team rented out the services of Kleb's Mechanical to do an inspection on our boiler/ furnace. We received a missed call from Peter stating that he was suppose to be at our unit 3 hours prior but he was held up at another job. He then stated he could be at our unit in 15- 30 minutes and to give him a call back to confirm.
We called Peter back right after the missed call and told him at that exact moment of the call we were not at our house but could be there in 10 minutes. He then proceeded to tell us never mind we can just reschedule. Fast forward to today, my husband and I received a bill for $230.05 for a "no showed" appointment. I am very frustrated and angry at the lack of professionalism coming from this company and from Peter.
It seems like they wanted to make money and not do their job. I would not recommend using their services. *EDIT TO ADD AFTER KLEB'S RESPONSE* This response from Kleb's you see below is just avoiding the entire point of my review. But in response, we had already spoken with our rental property management company (PRIOR to even writing this review) who told us Kleb's billed them to then bill us for this "no-showed appointment".
I even called Kleb's a few weeks ago to try and figure out why we were billed for a no-showed appointment when it was their worker who told us we needed to re-schedule even though we were ok with him coming over that day. I was speaking to the manager at Kleb's and he told me that it was my word against his workers and even if his worker did say this, he did not want to reprimand or fire his workers because he was already having a hard time finding workers right now.
I never once even said that I wanted anyone fired or reprimanded? I only wanted to have someone look into what I was saying and have something done about it/ have the charges dropped/ something along those lines. He told me to calm down, appreciate the little things in life, and not worry about the small bill. He then went on a rant about his personal life and time in the hospital which was completely un-related to the concern I was bringing up.
With the lack of concern coming from the manager, I knew I had lost this battle and ended up paying the fine anyway but I would NEVER recommend using Kleb's services. They are so very unprofessional and will NOT look into customer's concerns!

I was so impressed with the turn around time and service provided by this company. They provided quick response time and fast turn around on providing me a quote for a water heater replacement. I really don't have anyone in Alaska to call on to help me with these things here and with working full time and a little one, it is challenging to get things done.
The Scheduler/Dispatcher had a very customer driven demeanor and the Plumber was awesome with communicating with me on arrival times, which helped me with getting my GSD pup put in my room. His notice gave me time to get my pup in the room and my daughter down for a nap without a barking dog. The water quality is already so much better. I will definitely be using this company in the future for other services and updates. I cannot thank them enough.

Larry from Klebs was a great help, knowledgeable, and friendly. He diagnosed the problem with our furnace and was back a few days later to install the new part. He even helped us with an override of the control panel to have heat while waiting for the new one. Larry became a welcome guest in our home after the first visit - I was comfortable with him here to install the control board when my husband was not home, which I find very important.
I also must give kudos to Klebs for their fair pricing - their service fee was the best in town and the control panel was sold to us at a fair market price. Thank you, Klebs and Larry! Tons of stars, highly recommend!

I love the Klebs service program. We signed up over a year ago and I don't even have to think about when I should have maintenance/ service done. It's included with the plan, only $20/month and their people have wonderful customer service. Definitely worth it, they just came out today and completely cleaned and serviced our furnace. They are also who installed our water heaters. Quick, efficient and friendly!

My parents installed a $10,000 heating system from Klebs in 2016. This morning, they woke up with no heat in their house (it's currently -2 degrees outside). I called Klebs for them to come out and service / diagnose and they are unable to get here until Tuesday (4 days later). For a system that Klebs installed, regardless that the warranty is expired - it's ridiculous that they don't service their work for their customers in a timely manner.

I don't recommend them. They sold us an old unit and when our heat went out they were unwilling to help because we weren't under warranty and felt they had no responsibility to fix the issue. In the same call that I was calling because my heat went out the sales person tried to sell me an additional unit.

Klebs really stepped up to the plate. They worked with us at every turn and were open to constructive comments and ideas. Like in all construction hiccups happen and Klebs flowed like water through any turbulence with grace and left us with our dignity by keeping us informed of any changes. All the people at Klebs were kind and helpful and willing to go the extra mile if needed, even during hunting season.

Not sure that most of the people working here know what they are doing. 4 years ago they installed our hot water heater. They really messed up our fence in the process. 6 months later, they had to come back and completely redo the job, as it was winter and we could not get our living room above 50 degrees. Then, we had them install our hot water heater.
We always thought the water seemed extra hot because it was new. NOPE. Installed wrong again. This install was a year and a half ago. We asked them to come out and fix the problem, and they said we were out of warranty. We informed them the install was wrong (the thermostat never did anything), and they quoted us prices to fix it. We said, "See you in court."

This place is the biggest ripoff ever the lady on the phone said it would be $90 for someone to come out which seems like an amazing deal then Felix the repairman comes 2.5 hours late and cleans a sensor with sandpaper and boom heaters fixed I thought wow great work and no extra parts little did I know cleaning a sensor with sand paper is an additional $139 coming to a total of $229 don't use them unless you want a big surprise.

Called for a furnace inspection and cleaning for the sale of my home. $437 and almost 3 hours later, I would never recommend this company to anyone. He didn't do any repairs at all. He claimed that there appeared to be years of build-up from lack of maintenance. Hmmmm.we called 6 months ago and had one of their guys come out to replace the igniter wire.
He cleaned it at that time because we were being charged for an hour and he thought we should get our money's worth. I guess it depends on who they send, but I don't recommend taking the chance.
