Please read the flyer that they mailed to my house. It says they offer a free HVAC system assessment and advise on what is working good or any potential issues. I called and the woman had no idea what I was talking about. I read the flyer to her. She said the only time someone will come for free is when you get an estimate for a full replacement : An actual assessment of your current system for what is good vs bad will cost $69. Gotta love honesty in advertising nowadays!

Came with in the time frame stated, and inspected my very old unit quite well. I appreciated the tech advising that it was likely time to get a new unit, but didn't push hard on it. Tech was also very respectful, both in terms of politeness and of my property. Would definitely recommend. Service: HVAC system maintenance

After having 2 other companies fail at identifying the source of a leak in my AC system, I opted to call Vernon HVAC Services. Mike, their Technician showed up as scheduled and on time. He carefully and methodically trouble shot the system until he discovered where the refrigerant leak was. He provided a professional service, also provided two solutions to fix my problem.

At the end, I opted for full system replacement after the company offered me a great value choice plus an 18 month no interest financing option which made my decision a no brainer. Additionally, the new unit installation was scheduled for 2 days latter. Highly recommend this company and will use them in the future.

Technicians were great. Darron came to do a routine maintenance and found issues with our heat exchanger. He immediately called a senior tech to verify and present us with options. Ben came that evening, checked our unit and confirmed there there were issues with the heat exchanger, verified that there was no CO2 leaking into our home and offered us two options, fix or replace.

Since our unit was just turning 10 and we hoped to get a few more years out of it, we opted to replace the heat exchanger. Ben returned to install the new heat exchanger a few days later, made sure all systems were working correctly and did the work in a prompt and professional manner. We have been customers of Vernon for many years and the superior service these two techs gave us is the reason why we will be faithful customers for many more years.

I have been using Vernon for several years to service my HVAC system and will continue doing so. They are flexible in scheduling and provide good value. The most recent inspector also answered my question on how I could order humidifier filters to save money, since filters are an extra part not included in twice-yearly service. Richard and Antonio installed a new furnace and repaired/replaced a vent. They arrived on time; efficiently and timely performed the task of replacing my older furnace and vent. They left the work area clean. Richard answered all my questions/concerns. Richard and Antonio were very pleasant and knowledgeable. I thank them for a job well done. I had used another company first who came out three times and couldn't figure out what was wrong. I sent Vernon a request for service and received a call back the next morning. Mike was great. Took the time to explained things so I could understand what he was doing. Everything has worked great since they came and my only regret was not calling them first! Highly recommend.

John Beardsley, Senior Field Specialist, came to do a tune up for my furnace today. He was very professional and trustworthy. He was thorough and provided excellent information on what needed to be done to our unit. We ended up deciding on replacing the unit because of John's sincere and thorough assessment. I appreciated having someone I knew I could trust.

We had used Vernon in the spring for our AC tune up and had a great impression of their business then too. But John really blew us away in his customer service and expertise.

When I called to make our appointment, I was given the typical couple hour time frame for a technician to show up. Collin came within the first hour of that time frame, which was fantastic. He was quick to the job and was able to diagnose and get the AC running again very quickly. It took more time to wait for the breaker to turn on than it did for Collin to get his work done!

He was very knowledgeable and friendly, and we're happy to have gotten a service contract with Vernon, which was surprisingly cheap for all that it includes. Hopefully, we won't have to call them anytime soon for more repairs, but when the time comes, I'll happily be calling Vernon again!

Scammers. Their quality of work is always shoddy and their pricing is an insult to the consumer. Their proposal was 1,000$ more expensive than what I actually paid for quality repairs. Go elsewhere.

My company had service for a commercial property in December 2020 to repair our A/C and was told they had done just that. Two guys spent all day long on the roof and we ended up paying close to $3000 for the repair. Come May 2021, we turn on the air conditioning to find it doesn't work. (Whomp whomp) I called and spoke with Crystal, and she stated I would have to pay for another tech to come out and take a look for services her company did not complete in December.

I disclosed that the unit has not been turned on in the 6 months after the repair, and all she did was bring up the 6 month maintenance plan. She did not address my concerns as a paying customer, she did not attempt to rectify the situation, and she failed to understand my frustration given the price I payed to repair the air conditioning that was not completed.

I do not believe it's a big ask for a company to stand by their work, or in this case lack there of. I would much rather pay another company to complete the repair than to use this companies services again.

If I Can leave 0 out of 5 I will! Never ever deal with this company. Very Misleading and dishonest. We have to let another company fix their mess. I am truly disgusted about how they do business. Hopefully, someone from management would be aware of the daily operation of their techs.

I called for a fall service appt after receiving a flyer in the mail. I was able to get an appointment with an 8am - 9am service window for the following week and was told I was the 1st appt of the day. The technician was already 30m late when I called to ask about his whereabouts. He arrived 5-10m later. The service tech told me I had a sensor, significant leak and needed to replace my furnace.

My unit was last serviced in February and no such repairs were indicated, so I called another service provider who arrived today. He advised me that although my unit is old, it is not in need of replacement. He also asked me when I had the unit serviced last. I advised that I had it serviced 5 days ago. He pointed out that the standard items for fall inspection that had not been performed. This was my 1st time using Vernon. It will also be my last. Strongly do NOT recommend.

These guys are top notch! I'm the Head Brewer at Lost Rhino Brewing and definitely recommend Vernon. They got us through a very difficult time when our cold box died. They were on it within 24 hrs and got a whole new system on line extremely quick! They worked nothing less than a miracle. They are all about customer service. Ok. not sure who would put anything less than a 5Star review for Vernon Heating & Air. I am the General Manager of Daniel O'Connell's Irish Bar and Restaurant in Alexandria VA and I have to say. For the 13 years in business I have never received service like what these guys provide. Erik Dahl our technician goes above and beyond every time! Brandi & Krystal are the dream team when it comes to scheduling, billing and over all customer service.

BOTTOM LINE: Spend your hard-earned money anywhere but at Vernon Heating & Air Conditioning. Don't trust these people. I paid Vernon almost $12,000 to have a new AC and furnace installed in my house in May, 2018, and I've had nothing but problems. They have had to come to my house no less than 5 times to fix problems. My unit was leaking all over the basement floor (three separate times) despite the fact that they had installed an automatic cut off switch in the event of leaking.

In an unrelated issue, the AC compressor continually shuts off and trips the circuit breaker. They "fixed" this twice and it is broken again. A leaky unit combined with electrical short circuiting sounds like a raging fire hazard to me. I called them when they opened at 8:00 AM. What was Vernon's response? "We can have someone there between 6:00 and 8:00 tonight".

Very poor quality, and very poor customer service. The only reason I give them two stars instead of one (or zero) is that the technicians they send are polite and clean.although I'm not sure how well they are trained. It doesn't matter how nice they are if they are unable to fix the issues they created in the first place.

My experience with Vernon Heating & Air Conditioning started off a little rocky. I ended up speaking with Ryan and he was very calm, accommodating, and wanted to make me happy. He went above and beyond in order to do so. Vernon H & A serviced a cooling unit for a medical laser which I'm guessing most other companies wouldn't want to touch.

And they helped me by more than just getting it in working order. They spent the time to teach me how I can keep this thing working. Also, the technician they sent was wonderful and very knowledgeable. Highly recommend!

10 yrs ago we installed a brand new HVAC w Vernon. Today unit goes down. Vernon goes out and tech says 10K to fix it/replace it after a lot of gibberish nonsense. We call another comp. They go out, emergency visit $179. Replaced clogged valve, flushed lines. $89. HVAC working fine. I will never again work w Vernon.

I received the flyer in the mail for an AC tune-up stating "our specialist spends 60-90 minutes inspecting your system", "don't confuse this with a lowball tune-up performed in less than 30 minutes". I had a 9am-12noon window, and asked that they call me when the tech is on the way. I get a call at 8:20 saying the tech will be there in 45 minutes.

At 9:06, I pull in and the tech appears to be leaving. He says he has been there 45-60 minutes already. My renter, who let him in, says he arrived 20 minutes ago. I give a star because other than fudging on the time, the tech was polite and explained some things to me. But I did not get a chance to watch what the TUNE-UP consisted of over those 20 minutes.

He says he added a pound of freon to the system. If you exaggerate on your time spent though, I didn't have a lot of confidence that much got done. I don't recommend these folks to others.

Andi, Brodie, and Curtis installed my 14-16.5 Seer Carrier Air Conditioning Unit and Coil. They were very efficient, and met the demands of same day service which is unheard of in the industry. I was grateful to have my HVAC back up and running in no time. Many vendors would have just thrown the unit on a pad and replaced the bare minimum. Vernon on the other hand made sure that every last detail of the installation was complete.

Event the blocks under the unit were plumb and meticulously placed. Although my exterior unit was larger than the original, the new unit was neatly positioned, which I hardly noticed any loss of surface area. The technicians even sent me a text photo to confirm where I wanted the unit placed. I would highly recommend Vernon Heating and Air to anyone who wants the job done right the first time, and a company that has the bandwidth to support the customer. This is by far the worst experience, I called for emergency service because my heater stopped working and the woman that answered the phone said we can not send someone today although I called them at 9am. They had installed brand new heater in March 2014 and cost me $4000. I called them again at 5pm to try to get technical help over the phone on how to reset the system because it was under lock mode And the same woman said to me we don' t give technical support over the phone and was rude, even when I said we have little kids in the house and temperature is dropping to freezing point was still careless. I end up calling another company paid $400 for 1 minute job which took him 30 seconds to reset it.

Still nothing from Vernon Heating and Air on the rebates we were promised. We're out $2400+. If we were not promised a rebate, we would have bought the comparable $13,000 systems from MacRae, and not $17,000 systems from Vernon. Mike Prater said that he was going to send me an email last night explaining what happened? I didn't get one. I was told they were going to make up for it.

Still nothing from the owner. Calling Carrier today about Vernon's fraudulent statements and Loudoun County. Already contacted the BBB, 7onyourside, news4, and DPOR. I will tweet every day until there is a resolution. Nice way to promise we'd have rebates by Christmas, to find out it was bogus and sales ploy to get our business.

Good service and professional staff. We returned from a 10 day Christmas vacation to a freezing cold house. While away the Furnace (11 years old) motor and circuit board quit. We contacted Vernon HVAC who sent Darren to troubleshoot the problems noted above. He pointed out the issues and requested a more senior technician visit the house to make suggestions on repairs or replacement options. Mike showed up with Greg later the same evening.

Both were professional and obvious experts in HVAC. They offered an option to replace the circuit board and motor at a price of ~$1800 or replace the furnace. After considering the fact that the furnace is old and has had other problems over the last few years we decided to replace the furnace and humidifier system. Mike said Vernon could send a team out in two days to install the new system for right around $5000.

I have no idea if this is a good price. We are in the midst of an Arctic cold spell here in the DC area and we need heat. Mike and Greg seemed like honest, fair and experienced professionals who could be trusted so we went ahead with the work. Some quick research on the web puts Vernon's install and purchase price on the high end but if the result is good long term and they stand by their work I'm OK with the price. Additionally, Vernon offers a 10 year guarantee plus a guarantee that they will match any price below its quotation within 10 days plus an additional $50.00.

This seems like a fair proposition given we've had no time to research the company to compare other offers ahead of this furnace trouble. The installers are here now. Another guy named Mike and partner who are both very polite, professional and knowledgeable. They are careful with the house and focused on the mission during this morning where temps are below 20 degrees Fahrenheit.

This was a good opportunity to replace the AC unit at the same time as the furnace but we just couldn't swing the expense after the holidays. If all goes well with the new furnace and the twice annual maintenance service plan is competently supported we will certainly contract with Vernon for the AC replacement. At this point in time we are satisfied with our Vernon experience and would recommend to others. We'll be sure to follow up with our experience going forward.

Great service! We had Vernon technician came to diagnose our heater (gas furnace) in December. Maybe because of the busy season, Mike showed up later then the scheduled time. He was very nice, professional, and especially clean. He definitely meet their company's request : no smoke, no swear, drug-free, wear shoes covers.etc. This gave us a great first impression to Vernon's service.

Our gas furnace had a strange noise from several days ago. Mike told us it was from an old part. Instead of replacing expensive part and a long waiting time, he suggested us to changing a new furnace right the way, both cost around 5,000~6,000. He did a good job to explain why the whole system needs to be replaced and showed us the signs of wear and rust. It's an old house so we believed the furnace is at least 10-15 years old.

Eventually we decided to change a brand new heater and asked him to change our pipes as well. Although it was an un-expecting holiday bomb, Mike did his best to answer our concerned and detail all we need to know. We had a 100% satisfaction to Vernon's professional technician. Now I hope they have same level service on the new machine and installation. Overall we are highly recommend Vernon Heating & Air.

I find it interesting that my 1-star Oct 2014 review has disappeared. I was writing again to update that John Vernon called my husband after my negative Yelp review, but didn't bother to call again after my husband returned his call. We were loyal customers for a decade, paying $42/month and the best they could do is dismiss our legitimate concern saying we should go our separate ways and not returning our call.

So I was turned onto Vernon by my last landlord who always used them for any hvac issues that we had over the last two years. They were on my short list for who to call when I bought my own house and needed my furnace serviced before winter. I called on Thursday and Mike was here on Saturday for the inspection. He informed me that we needed a new unit since the heat exchanger was literally falling apart.

He suggested a unit in our price range and good for our small house and walked us through financing. On Monday Mike C. and Andy M. were out before 9am for the installation. A couple hours later and voila I had a warm house. They cleaned up and were on to the next job. Everybody we spoke with or met from Vernon were very professional and helpful. I will for sure be using them from now on, especially since they're warranties are great and the price is worth the work.
