The technician, Jason Brooks was EXCELLENT in every regard; punctual, thorough inspection, good communicator. **BUT** Shari in Sales neglected to tell me the cost of freon I told her we would need which turned out to be $222 per pound! Since I bought an annual service contract for $140 from her WITHOUT FULL DISCLOSURE, I asked the company to give us a reasonable freon price once Jason repaired the leak. They refused. So - I sent Jason away without getting the freon boost. $290 later, we still don't have A/C. You lost a new customer today Custom Air Inc. Shame on you.

I am very disappointed in the service I received from this company. It's more as a result of the office personnel. I had the company provide me a quote as I was going through the process of purchasing my home. The inspection took place on 3/27. I had 30 days to move forward with service before they would charge me another assessment fee. I closed on my house 3/25.

I called custom air that same day to move forward with services. No one answered. I left a message and no one called me back. I called on 3/29 because I had not heard anything to see if we could move forward with services. They said no, we will have to come out and assess the unit again. My frustration is the lack of follow up along with the lack of empathy or acknowledgment that I tried to stay within the timeframe.

I know I was cutting it close outside of any control of mine but the customer service rep, Sherry, implied that I was lying about calling initially. Before she placed me on hold I heard her unprofessional comment to Mary Jane (the rep who initially worked with my realtor) about me saying I called before. Instead at the very least acknowledging no one from the company followed up she responded with "like I said".

A great company is more than the field service but the office personnel as well. I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone. Update: Mary Jane followed up with me and advised they would move forward with the service. Not sure if this was something working behind the scenes or the fact I called back and asked for the names of those who assisted me.

They probably could hear my frustration. I'm thankful they followed up with me but hate it had to go the way that it did. Changing the rating to a 2. Will provide update once everything has panned out.

Jeremy was able to find a small leak in my system that had likely been going on for 2+ years that other technicians were not able to find on multiple visits. He came back to do the warranty repair and everything is working great. I highly recommend Jeremy and will be requesting him on any future issues. Service: Repair HVAC

I am writing this review to let everyone know that overall, Custom air is a good company. I do recommend shopping around as their prices are a bit higher and I was promised more than delivered with my initial experience. I purchased a new system from their company around 13 years ago. They promised an over all savings of 20 percent on my energy bills.

This was including the use of propane and electric. Initially I had a propane only system but went with a dual fuel system. Propane and electric. This system did not meet my expectations and when I informed them of the failure to meet their promises, they said it did. Their promise was that they would make up the difference which never happened. I had lived in the home 5 years prior and knew what the difference should have been. Maintaining the system was great.

The system worked well but the energy savings was not there as promised nor did they stand by their words of making up the difference. I recently had another service replace the condenser unit for half the price they had quoted me to replace the unit they installed 13 years prior. This is after having to order a new breaker for that unit that was not bad but the technician that was sent out to evaluate the unit mis diagnosed the issue initially.

He was unaware of another breaker box they had installed under the house by the internal unit. So, long story short, they do make mistakes and do not stand behind all they promise. Their maintenance of the system seemed to be good and my system lasted 13 years before the issue that recently came up. I attempted to call the office to ask questions about a quote they provided and no one returned my call. I am not giving a lower rating because I do feel they can be a good company but should stand behind their work and promises.

The technician did a great job and informed me that he would have to replace the hot surface ignitor and charged me $222.00 for the part. I asked about the high price but he informed me that any part for the furnace is expensive. After the replaced I decided to research the value and to my surprise the value of this piece is not more than $30.00! Tried talking to customer service and only got response that the price was right. This company never again!

Austin Hile was prompt, friendly and professional. He went over everything about my unit and I found it extremely helpful and informative. When he left I felt comfortable knowing that if I were to need his services again I would be in good hands. It was also time to replace my ceiling air filter and Austin was kind enough to do that for me while he was here.

While we got off to a rough start - they did make it right and I ended up signing a contract with them. The technicians are good, but for us, they left a little quickly to ensure we actually were repaired. The 2nd technician was just as good as the 1st one, but he really took the time to learn about the issue and made sure we were actually working before he left. I'm looking forward to working with them in the future,

We called Custom Heating and Air to do the yearly service on our air conditioning units. They came out in the morning and serviced the units and said everything looked great. A few hours after they left we noticed the one AC unit wasn't working. We called Custom Air and were told they couldn't get someone to look at the unit until the next day.

We found this unacceptable because the temperature was up over 80 in the house and was very uncomfortable. Since we were told the AC worked great something they did or forgot to do while they were here made the unit not function properly. Good customer service would have had someone out here in a more timely fashion to fix something they broke. We ended up calling a competitor to fix the unit.

We tried to get a refund for the service/lack of service, but it took four days to actually talk to a manager. They did not return phone calls or respond to emails so we kept on calling They won't give a refund. So we had to pay them and then had to pay a quality company to come out and fix their service.

AC unit needed some diagnostic work as there was no cold air. Billy quickly found the issue - and also what caused it. Unfortunately, this means a full replacement, but that is better than lots of money for a new compressor installed in an 8-9 year old system. I am using them to install the new system.

Custom Heating and Air has a technician named Will, if he ever tells you that you need a new unit get a second opinion! He's a LIAR my unit was working fine before he came. Per the company I hired for a second opinion Will turned off my unit in the attic. The second opinion saved me $10,000 this company is unethical and they'll never receive my business ever again.

What a joke! Totally unprofessional estimate. Billy was polite but definitely not ready to be giving estimates. Didn't even look under house to see if supply and exhaust vents were in good shape or conformed to manufacturers specifications. When confronted him regarding this, he said that it would taken care of at an additional cost during the installation.

Every other HVAC company that came to give me an estimate, went into the crawlspace to make an inspection and gave their estimate that included all necessary and suggested modifications. To top it off, Comfort Air gave the highest cost for the HVAC unit without any of the necessary modifications.

Our heat was out after a 28 degree night, not just out, the entire unit was SHOT. It was old so we figured it was coming. I called and was connected to a gentleman named Anthony. He was at my home in less than 3 hours. Checking everything out, taking photos for which pieces we would need, and had it done quickly. He was kind and professional, very happy!

The very next day we had our new everything being installed. (It was installed by two wonderful young men that had it done fairly quickly and done right.) Later that night we experienced some thermostat problems. We called and got connected to the awesome Anthony again! He drove to our home at 9 something at night, stayed for a couple hours and fixed it to make sure it was done right! He is a phenomenal employee and wish there was an Anthony everywhere! Would use this company over and over!

This company stinks to put it simply. Spent $8000.00 with them on a new Rheem heat pump and things were fine until winter when every time for 4 times there was freezing rain/ice icicles built up on the grill of the outdoor unit caused the fan blade to continually hit the icicles and make a terrible noise. I was told to watch the weather reports and if ice was called for, then put the unit on emergency heat.

Never had to do that once with the Trane. End result is they claim act of God but a Trane unit set in this exact same spot for at the whole 5 years I've lived here and never once iced up. So if you're thinking of buying a Rheem, better know you might need to get up in the middle of the night in an ice storm to go out and chip icicles off the grill so you can go back to sleep.

Custom Air offered no viable solutions how to fix this and stopped responding. Just what one wants with a unit only 7 months old. I complained to the Rheem manufacturer and their engineer was telling me the same story, "cant stop ice from happening in winter" but went silent when I asked why the Trane set here for the 5 years Ive been here and never once did it ice up.

He said that over the 5 years in all the other ice storms that the perfect conditions had never been met to cause the old one to ice but must of been met the 4 out of 4 times it's iced since the Rheem has been installed. Now that is just some astronomical odds if you ask me. Next step will be to see if News2 on your side is interested in the story after I send them an video with the loud noise coming from the fan blade hitting the icicles about midnight in the last storm. I guess at least I now know what company and heat pump I wont be buying again for my new house.

Custom Air was great. The technician Billy was awesome! He was early to the appointment, knowledgeable and most of all patient. For the record Home Warranty Companies are a straight ripoff. Billy was very patient in trying to explain to the representative what the costs were however, she still wanted more information that he had already provided. I will definitely call Custom Air again for my HVAC needs and recommend to anyone.

I definitely would not use this company. Our new furnace/AC project lasted almost 5 months due to their miscommunication, poor follow through and inattention to detail. Not only did the workmen leave my basement a mess after installing the new furnace, but they didn't hook up the gas line so when I went to take a shower the next morning it was all cold water (and we were leaving for vacation).

The exhaust pipe was installed in such a place that made our basement stairwell unusable. They came back to fix it, but they showed up late on all three trips and once didn't show up at all. I had to keep on top of them for the city inspection, which we apparently didn't pass the first time, but they didn't know. Everyone I spoke to from the installers to the receptionist to the technician gave me a different explanation for the same question and I don't trust them at all.

I should have known when it took me almost 30 minutes to recive the discount I was promised for cash payment. I think they hoped I would just let it go. Do not use this company.

The owner of this business is very dishonest and unethical. He will do what he can to rip you off and not think twice about it while trying to belittle you. He took $125 from us, promised to refund it to us and never did. Now he refuses to communicate with us. Think twice before doing any kind of business with this company or business owner!
